Transparency Meme Expands

Dominant Social Theme: Wake up about 9/11 and form a global collective.
Free-Market Analysis: Just the other day we wrote an article entitled, "New Elite Gambit Features 'Transparency?" In it we pointed out that "transparency" seemed to be a kind of growing sub-dominant social theme. We presented Bloomberg's lawsuits filed against the European Central Bank and the Federal Reserve as evidence of this meme.
Why would Bloomberg, the consumate media insider, allow his organization to sue the most powerful monetary forces in the world? We offered the theory that the elite may wish to generate a call for international bodies to regulate nation-states in order to ensure that these nation states (and city states) are responsible to their citizens. The logic is that a transparency campaign (cleverly generated by the elite and aimed at its own institutions) inevitably weakens the bonds of nation-states by showing how corrupt they are; the next step is to call for a new global order (perhaps the UN) to impose transparency on nation states. And so globalism evolves ...
In our commentary on transparency-as-meme we pointed to various additional evidences that the word (and concept) was catching on in a way that made our Swiss elves (the ones who analyze this stuff) suspicious. We quoted no less a celebrity than Julian Assange (we're suspicious about him too) as making the following statement:
We are transparency activists who understand that transparent government tends to produce just government. And that is our sort of modus operandi behind our whole organization, is to get out suppressed information into the public, where the press and the public and our nation's politics can work on it to produce better outcomes.
And here's some more we wrote the other day on this apparently expanding meme:
We looked up "transparency" with "Wall Street" and "banks" and found upwards of five million cites. We looked up "government transparency" and found 25 million cites. Same thing with "business transparency." That's a lot. Barack Obama made "transparency" a major part of his platform. A few months ago, NY Senator Kirsten E Gillibrand announced legislation co-written by John McCain – the "Earmark Transparency act."
There's even an NGO dedicated to transparency – Transparency International (TI). According to Wikipedia, TI is a non-governmental organization that monitors and publicizes corporate and political corruption in international development. It publishes an annual Corruption Perceptions Index, a comparative listing of corruption worldwide. The headquarters is located in Berlin, Germany but operates through more than 70 national chapters. The UN has a transparency initiative as well, authorized by world leaders at its September 2005. The initiative calls for "increased transparency and accountability in the UN Secretariat affairs."
Transparency surely seems to be a growing dominant social theme of the Anglo-American elite. The US Congress is engaged in a late-term effort to pass a "whistleblowers" bill. We are sure if we looked, we would find similar EU efforts. We figure it is because people are so disgusted with civil institutions that the elite has decided something radical must be done. Since the Anglosphere is not about to jettison the architecture of global governance – put together of the past half century – transparency is apparently the chosen remedy.

We thought we were finished with this meme for a while. But imagine our surprise when just yesterday one of our elves drew attention to a notification on Ellen Brown's website. There, on the margin was the following notation: "We Demand Transparency Conference in NYC Sept 12-13, '09, many speakers including Ellen Brown ..."
We were fascinated by this and investigated further. We found out that the Transparency Conference was created by a wonderfully talented, young journalist named Sander Hicks. Not only had he created a conference, he had also started a political effort called the Truth Party. The Truth Party is named after his interest in 9/11 Truth. Sander Hicks does not believe the US government is telling the truth about 9/11.
In fact, as we noted recently, there are signs that the mainstream media is beginning to ask more questions about 9/11. Fox News' Geraldo Rivera recently had part of a program devoted to questions about how 9/11 happened and more importantly how many unanswered questions there still are. It leads our elves to wonder (in their paranoid way) if the Anglo-American elite is somehow getting ready to use 9/11 as a further form of disinformation ... Anyway, here is some of Sander Hicks bio:
I'm a media activist, a catalyst, and a journalist. In 2010, I produced the Truth Gathering, part of the launching of the Truth Party. I founded two celebrated social ventures, Vox Pop Inc. and Soft Skull Press. Sander Hicks wrote an article recently about a recent Truth event that begins as follows: "What We Saw at the Truth Gathering ... The image that is forming is how we can imagine waking up and truly, finally, getting our collective act together on a global scale." (See excerpt, beginning of this article.) Yes, Sander Hicks is suggesting events on a "global scale."
We are sure it is coincidence. In fact, let us make the point here, emphatically, that we do not believe that either Sander Hicks or Ellen Brown is directly or even indirectly in the service of the Anglo-American power elite. Still, we are professional meme watchers here at the Daily Bell, and the noses of our elves are twitching when it comes to this catchword "transparency." (Again, we warn those who wish to imitate us about paper cuts, eye strain and late nights.)
Conclusion: We are most impressed with the energy, dedication and talent of Sander Hicks – and Ellen Brown as well. They are deeply innovative, extraordinarily intelligent Americans and may represent some of the best the country has to offer. We have no proof either one is involved in promoting an elite meme of the sort we track. Likewise, as we have stated before, we are sure that Ellen Brown or Stephen Zarlenga (see other story, this issue) are not directly or even indirectly involved in the plethora of new websites (run by former military personnel in some cases) that have recently sprung up advocating sovereign money. I stand corrected. I recall now that it might have been someone in Russia. Odd that I assumed it was Wikileaks. If it was just me then one might attribute it to insanity but I see that commentators on Click to view link seem to make the same error. It's as though Wikileaks has become the perceived default channel for leaks past and future.

Agreed. Somehow Assange seems to wish to take credit for the leaking, but there is no evidence that WikiLeaks was behind it.

Something I don't understand, maybe because my mind is insufficiently labyrinthine: If Wikileaks is a scam by the NWO then why did they help to mortally wound the anthropogenic global warming scam with the release of the climategate files? Hmm.. I get that the NWO would want to control both sides of major debates. I also note that Assange said in an interview that once the rape allegations have been disproven then that will act as an "innoculation" that will strengthen his credibility, so he at least does think in that Hegelian way. All the same, it is obvious that that game of creating antagonistic memes and situations opposed to ones real goals is fraught with extreme danger. After all, Assange could end up being physically or neurologically destroyed a la Bradley Manning by lower functionaries such as Swedish or US prosecutors who aren't up to speed with what the Anglo-American elite intend.

The evidence seems to point the opposite direction. Certainly the elites (or their political agents) are attempting to "seize" it (which is different).
Talking about "reptiles", there is nothing like reading about psychopathy to now about them.

I follow this site for 2 weeks now and i see that the only perspective you guys uphold is that of a world run by a small elitist group.
I read something like this:

as an assumption, but what if we change the last part.
"Transparency surely seems to be a growing dominant social theme of the *Vogons"(You can also replace the last part by reptillions according to David Icke I think)
Isn't this a bit paranoid, to always relate this to a certain group and assume they have plans to build a bypass or control the world?
I wonder where does this 'all knowing all controlling' elite group come from anyway. What I know is that this system we are living in is self-sustaining because we humans want to be sure that we have food on the tabel and that our children are save and it might be that individual people misuse this for their own benefit.
I think that corruption is the brain of this system rather than its result.
I read the interview with Mr. McLean, it looked very sincere and alot of people liked it. I have my doubts. If such an elite exist it might be that they have influence and a broader perspective on things and act according to that; rather than completly control the world.
Enlighten me.
*Vogons(like the aliens who destroy the earth, to build a bypass; as is described in the books, The hitchickers guide to the galaxy wich is a terrific story btw!)

What do you think the probability is that 9/11 was purposely conducted in a sloppy way so that it may be later used in the planned general collapse? I realize i'm out there, but you have to consider all possibilities.
Furthermore, to your thesis that the internet, through its truth telling abilities, will catalyze successful opposition to the PE, in the former communist block, there was no lack of knowledge by the population at large as to what was going on. Everyone knew everything right down to the name of the local informer on the block. And yet, there was no opposition. It was not information that people lacked, but meaningful, functional organization and infrastructure. At some point, the rubber has to meet the road if you want to get any traction. People have to meet their neighbors and sort their way through the forrest of mirrors that the PE has erected in order to polarize and control society. Only after ironing out their petty differences could the plebes fight their way out of the paper bag in which they find themselves. I don't think that's too realistic as things stand.

Glass has transparency -that can be adjusted with opaque rainbows of color added to the mix--- and one way mirrors are transparent, to those looking thru----. Politics can however want clarity, without really giving it all away-- without secrets, we wouldn't have politics.. The illusion of a bill that promises to tell all, preventing anyone from sneaking something thru-? The transparency of overinformation-- ie ,so many truths that no one can make up thier mind- sounds so much like the blind men describing an elephant.. Transparancy sounds like another bandwagon for those"in the know" to climb on, patronize the public with, and they in turn are absorbing it like sponges with water..

I love the way the DB points at the smartest of the people who are on the game " and on the take... As the internet is challenging the elites more and more, the latter are being reduced to rearguard fighting, as far as manipulating the public and keeping us on the track that leads us to slavery.
But isn't the rearguard, where the platoon leader reveals his talent " or his mediocrity? We are forced to admit that the elites are good at this kind of fight. Yet isn't the elites' greatest rearguard victory, to have the DB advocating for a free market that, in the end, will benefit them, not the people?

In reponse to Saffire above. Having lived through the 70's, I can assure you that I've been there and done that (currency devaluation). My entire adult life has been a fight to keep my standard of living from detiorating year to year. Many of us knew that there were scans, such as central banking, the income tax, false flag events, and continuous government dirty tricks. It just took the advent of the internet to spread the word. Welcome to the party.

Transparency, Sustainability, Climate Change ... they choose their words well and I suppose image is half the battle, or at least it used to be. But the promotion of these themes is not only not going well, it sometimes seems to have the very opposite effect to what was intended. For example the long term hyping of Global Warming contrasted with real world temperatures over the past few years has actually helped to increase people's awareness that something is amiss.
I think Transparency will end up going the same way and quickly. They can promote it all they want but when the agenda continues and real world events don't live up to the hype then people will see through it. For example, these 2 stories are from the same site (PressTV) and both from a couple of days ago.

Of course it's the treatment of the Palestinians which is what people are most concerned about. Admitting to assassination and promising not to do it again is going to change few minds.
Getting back to the DB article I think it'll be a similar situation. My feeling is that by suing their own institutions or tacitly admitting that 911 was an inside job (Fox), while at the same time trying to steer the outcome will only make matters worse for them. Like Saffire29979 said, more and more people are becoming cynical and will soon see this transparency thing for what it is; a distraction, a deflection, a scam, a promotion.

I see a connection between this push for "transparency" and the efforts by people like Jon Stewart to calm down the increasingly uncomfortable middle-class.
Politicians have been doing more of this recently: promising a new and open government, a more trustworthy legislative methodology (Obama's promise to allow bills to appear online for a few days prior to signing them), and making all sorts of official-looking "pledges". It's like watching a dieter continually renew his attempt to lose weight, only to eat cake later the same night.
This is why I don't think Wikileaks is a part of the elites' plans. It ruins their efforts to calm the public, by exposing them as a bunch of censors. Because a Democrat is president, you get a lot of right-wingers joining leftists in backing Assange (anything to hurt Obama!).
Young people (of which I am one), are becoming more and more cynical about America and politics in general. The Obama Letdown, the obvious global warming scam, and now Wikileaks and the transparency thing... if politics was taboo to talk about before, it is now moreso by a factor of ten. Just too depressing.
Toss in the fact young people will bear the brunt of the inevitable "austerity"/currency devaluation and you have a confluence of inconvenience for the ruling class. We grew up in an age of prosperity...
