Pat Gorman
Who is he: For more than 12 years, Pat Gorman has produced an annual two-day wealth protection seminar that attracts attendees from across the United States and internationally. In addition, Gorman is the author of the ‘Net best-selling book, The Value of Honest Money, as well as a monthly investment newsletter outlining asset protection strategies. Gorman serves on the Advisory Board for The Foundation for the Advancement of Free-Market Thinking (FAFMT).
Pat Gorman emphasizes US gold and silver coins as a potential investment in these times of increasing popularity of gold and silver. These coins are often referred to as Numismatic Coins or Rare Coins. Very simply, the coins Gorman recommends were minted by the United States Mint as legal tender. There were only a handful of different types of gold and silver coins minted in the United States.
Most of these coins were minted from the early 1800s up until 1933. There have been periods in history when these old Numismatic Coins appreciated considerably while gold bullion remained very flat. These coins have an excellent history of long-term profitability, they are portable, very liquid and are the most popular collectable in the United States. There have been many rumors over the years about the manipulation of gold bullion prices. That is why so many people have turned to numismatic coins as a hedge against inflation and economic uncertainty.
Gorman believes silver is another winning investment. It may still be one of the most undervalued commodities on earth. Gorman says, "The natural ratio of gold to silver is about 16 to 1. In other words, for every ounce of gold that is mined, approximately 16 ounces of silver have been extracted. This would suggest a price that might be near this same ratio. $300 gold might suggest $25 silver. And US$1,500 gold would suggest US$100 silver."
