Barack Obama's Internet Kill Switch
What are the chances of a US Internet Kill Switch? Could it happen? Is it practical? The Foundation for the Advancement of Free-Market Thinking (FAFMT) and The Daily Bell are pleased to bring you a short video presentation titled, Internet Kill Switch.
The video features hard-to-believe yet true events unfolding right now in Washington D.C. to try and suppress the Internet's ability to support the freedom of the press. Will the power elite be victorious in squelching Internet freedom? We surely hope not and will continue to support freedom of the press and the Internet-spawned advance of liberty and free-market thinking. We hope you enjoy the video and look forward to reading your feedback. Click here to watch.
Viewers, as well, are invited to add their financial support to our Foundation's efforts to spread the word on this and other critical freedom issues. The time to act is now. Educational efforts like those being led by FAFMT via publishing efforts like the Daily Bell and outside free-market organizations it supports are critical to the expansion of freedom-awareness supported by sites and outlets on the World Wide Web.
Today there is substantive Internet freedom. But if Barack Obama and the power elite standing behind him get their way, the authoritarian nightmare planned for all citizens suppressed under the control of a New World Order will move closer reality.
In fact, just yesterday, there were news reports about the Obama administration is moving forward with an Internet ID plan for the US Internet-using public. The administration announced it would support programs created by the private market that would make Internet IDs available to those who wanted to use them.
There's "no reliable way to verify identity online" at the moment, US Commerce Secretary Gary Locke said, using malware and identity theft as justifications for funding such a program. "Passwords just won't cut it here." Of course, that's not the real reason to create an ID program. The real reason is to chill free speech. Anyone who believes such an ID system will remain voluntary also likely believes that Obama himself is a wide-eyed Democratic radical and not the corporatist political functionary he so obviously is.
There are international efforts afoot to rein-in the Internet. In "Is France Plotting to Kill the Free Internet?" tech writer Bobbie Johnson advises us to "Keep a weather eye on next month's G8 gathering of ministers and Web moguls—a potential oligarchy in the making." Johnson points out French President Nicolas Sarkozy is planning to use the gathering to advance his plans to further regulate the Internet.
Sarkozy, who has proposed taxes on Internet use and is dedicated to the creation of a "civilized" Internet, wants to use the G8 as a platform to put top politicians and top technologists in the same room together. According to Johnson, those Sarkozy hopes will include attendees Eric Schmidt of Google, Jack Ma of Alibaba, Jeff Bezos of Amazon, and Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg. "They'll be talking about the future of the Internet, and items up for discussion include copyright, piracy, privacy, security, and the cloud. It's not obvious whether this gaggle of ministers and moguls will agree on specific policies."
Again, none of this is actually aimed at benefitting Internet freedom. People like Sarkozy want to CONTROL this endlessly organic facility and reduce its ability to expose elite plans. It's making them crazy! In the 20th century, the Anglosphere elite moved rapidly toward its goal of centralized world governance. But 21st century technology has virtually stripped away the veil of secrecy behind which the elites operated and exposed their plans.
By exposing their plans and also the fear-based promotions that they use to drive middle classes into giving up power and wealth to internationalist institutions, the Internet has vastly complicated the elite's efforts at "finishing the job." It is the Internet and those intrepid reporters who place information on it that has revealed the extent, ambition and arrogance of elite plans. It is the Internet that has allowed people to perform the research and write the articles that have exposed the fraudulent central banking system and ways the mainstream media reinforces elite memes.
The elites would like nothing better than a methodology that allows them to turn off or "kill" parts of the Internet, especially in times of crisis, perhaps a manufactured one. The main target for the elites, of course, is not the Middle East or Europe but America. In a March 2011 article, "In Search Of The Internet Kill Switch" TechCrunch's John Orlin explored efforts at targeting the US for an Internet kill switch.
Orlin reports on Libya's Internet shutdown in early March and also Egypt's attempt to shut down its Internet while the revolution against Hosni Mubarak was underway. But that effort backfired and only angered protestors. "We couldn't condemn the action in other countries while at the same time plan it here?" Orlin asks. The answer: Yes, in fact, the US could do just such a thing.
He reminds us that Senators Joseph Lieberman, Susan Collins and Thomas Carper introduced the controversial "Protecting Cyberspace as a National Asset Act of 2010.″ This bill included language to "authorize emergency measures to protect the nation's most critical infrastructure if a cyber vulnerability is being exploited or is about to be exploited." Press reports labeled the legislation the "kill switch" bill. Orlin adds the following:
When talking about an Internet kill switch, an image of a giant switch in the Oval Office, perhaps next to the "red telephone," used to shut down the entire Internet comes to mind. But that's fiction and gives the bill's sponsors cover to deny the bill contains a total kill switch ... While denying the bill authorized a presidential "kill switch" in a fact sheet, Lieberman told CNN, "Right now, China, the government, can disconnect parts of its Internet in a case of war. We need to have that here, too." Just because China does it is a laughable argument. It's also clear he wants a way to turn parts of the Internet off.
We've pointed out in the past that it is likely impossible to "turn off" such a vast system in the United States or throughout Europe. But it is certainly possible to bring the Internet further under control of elites that hope to turn it into a glorified TV-oriented "programming" network. Whether this happens is up to all of this. We take "human action" to determine our futures individually and together as regards such critical issues.
I would urge all who are concerned about Internet freedom to follow elite efforts at further controlling it and to help us spread awareness in order to combat 'Net censorship. Like the Gutenberg press before it, the Internet is a mechanism for spreading important information that can lead to vast social change – while ameliorating further authoritarian centralization within the context of a "new world order."
This is what Western Anglo-American elites in particular fear, as they are desperately trying to put the finishing touches on world government before the larger masses wake up to the full reality of the threat. To the elites, the Internet is a big mistake that emerged out of an unfortunate synthesis between a DARPA military-information network and the unexpected, non-government-initiated creation of the portable PC. To others, including myself, it is the world's great hope.

The Kill switch is simply one more means to silence any ad all opposition on the intended path to the current adminstrations objective of one world government. There will be no personal freedoms left we fail to stand now and say "enough".

First, without going into all the technical detail of the Internet; BGP, IGP,DNS, Bypass, etc., suffice it to say that nothing like an Internet "kill switch" is even remotely possible in the NA telecommunciation network. Egypt has 4 ISPs and one main government carrier and it still was hard for them to accomplish over two days. Egypt is a tiny network and has less technical complexity by orders of magnitude than the NA network.
Plus, to attempt to shut it down would cause the federal government to lose 65-70% of it's own general comms capability. State and local governments more than 95%. At the 'kill switch" or the peer level it would be next-to impossible to discriminate their traffic for continued operation to any significant degree So how do you think anything in government itself would function?
Politically, as we saw in Egypt, trying to shut down the internet is completely untenable, because it puts most commerce offline bringing the economy to a near halt. Anyone who did not come out in protest before certainly would with the attempt to shut down the internet. The reaction in NA would be immediate and huge. Plus, attacks on government sites would go up enormously, just as they did in Egypt.
In North America, we are also unique given the fact that more than 40 % of all global intenet traffic switches through the NA switch fabric. There is no way to discriminate out that traffic and switch it through selectively, so it all goes down too. How long do you think such a thing would last?
The bottom line is, just because some authoritarian politicians can dream a bill up, doesn't mean that it is in any way technically feasible or ultimately, politically feasible. An attempt to shut down the internet is a clear signal that the gloves are off. Remember, the private sector has lots more hackers and they're better than the government hackers in many areas. Work-arounds and bypass will immediately become the full time profession of a lot of "entrepreneurs."
It's good, in fact, that the authoritarians/PTB are attempting this in order to bring focus to such lame attempts. It keeps their behavior under the bright lights. It also helps the growing awaremness how obsolete their power structure is and how fast it is going to go away in the next couple decades.
For more than 10 years I have proferred the idea that large, hierarchical-centralized government, corporate and social structures are "dead men-walking" and don't realize it yet. Every day more of the truth of that idea is exposed. The more they try the more credibility and support they lose. However, I wouldn't lose any sleep over their ability to actually stop much of anything that's happening.
The better approach is to continue just walking straight-away from granting them any credibility to control much from here on out and focus on what WE need to do. That will speed up their loss of control.

The power elite or the enterprising will think of every way to profit. If you fished in the Kings river;you paid a tax. The tax; a few of the fish out of your catch. The Coucils all over the world have thought of how to tax the internet. Committees know how to bend the internet to control people, places and situations.
Taxation of the internet is like being taxed for water you consume, the air you breathe and for the direct and indirect services you recieve. A flat tax could be slammed on internet users. A number one reason why President Barry Obama and the powers that be... may not want to have an internet blackout. The internet is a vast source of information exchange; an almost phenomenal system to access fix and sabotage infrastructure.
For security reasons; the controllers or the elite could decide to have an internet blackout. The internet may be cordoned Click to view linkt up with particioned search engines and data bases excluded from access and guarded for hacker mischief programs. Most likely there are entities who desire the Jaw Bone of the internet to be broken for necessity and at will.
The internet can be turned into a tariff pay to use info traffic and retrieval system. Cash starved governments could put a modest tax on internet use and flood their coffers with much needed cash. Taxation of the internet would contribute to paying the bills.
Remember the GOOGLE search engine being shut down in other countries. Some power structures realise the internet can be like an Illuminatti illuminating the minds of man helping them to compare to contrast to analyse to think to learn wether its information or disinformation out there.
Many leaders are where they are just like how ordinary people are where they are at; someone opened the gate for them and let them through. They were chosen to accept a leadership role. They were accepted for the service they provide. Whatever Hydra comes to the surface to rule;it would probably exploit the internet just as it is exploited today.
Could computing is remote storage energy efficency budgeting for on time and just in time storage. American Homeland Security probably already have contingency plans to take care of the what if situations. We can make ourselves paranoid about it or accept it for what it is. Governments would love to get their two cents to pay the bills. A electro magnetic pulse is feared as it would fry all the computer chips and knock out the power grid and all communication. Einstein once said;"If man can think of it he can make it."

The FCC has already tried to institute rulemaking re regulating the internet and going around Congress
Posted by Againstpoliticalhypochrisy on 04/17/11 08:58 PM
I applaud the resistance movement but hang on guys, the push to make Obama the scapegoat here is nothing short of disgusting. Who controls congress and who made all the outrageous comments when Julian Assange's Wikileaks opened up some innocuous diplomatic emails? Republicans. So stop making this an us against them propaganda missive, it wouldn't matter who was in power at this stage in time, the stage is set to try and control the internet. So get rid of politics in the argument, this is people power of all persuasions against any government's (and the forces behind government)desire to censor freedom of speech and the media that can deliver that communication instantly around the world.

In my experience I have seen ideas and viewpoints discussed in depth on the internet, often years in advance, gradually move off the sceen and onto the "main" global news networks... like cnn and bbc. I consider this evidence that active individuals and organizations can now see the future before government – which is simply great. What I describe as Resisitance organizations, those that resist economic crimes and tyranny, support human dignity, and fight the lies of government, have a very useful tool in the internet. The internet fosters a low tolerance for Government and media rubbish – its long term ipact is not known but any government that shuts downs or kills the internet advertises and confimrs itself as a tyrant to centa -millions everywhere..

The biggest allies in keeping the internet alive rest with the young people hooked on texting, facebook and cell phones. Let's keep encouraging them to keep using it.

White House Threats On Wayne Madsen Must Be Taken Seriously

Excerpt:
(Wayne Madsen Report, April 4, 2011) In yet another indication that America's democratic experiment is a thing of the past, this editor has received word from a source in a foreign intelligence agency allied with the United States that there has been talk by some within the Obama White House that this editor is under threat. What particular stories have inflamed the White House are not known but the warning conveyed by the source, who has connections within the White House, was stark in its directness:
"They want to kill you."

I believe this idea came from Gary Locke, who is half Chinese. The Chinese have already used this system to kill YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook when those venues started criticizing China's handling of Tibet. You also need to show your ID card to obtain a new phone number of an internet connection. We (the government) cannot allow the Chinese to do something the US can't.

PS .... In case you have missed it, the secret is in how you use the Internet and its invisible webs and intangible VPNs to rule whatever it is that you would imagine yourself to be in reign of and/or accountable to. Beware, and be aware though, that you will most probably invariably always discover you are in real control of virtually nothing at all, and are just as puppets and pawns in ITs Great Game for Virtual Machines which Morph into Alien Beings for Cosmic Command and Control.
And how smart is one to recognise that such is the case and here have you been told of what is in a future store for fateful delivery of fabulous destinies.

Closing down the Internet is a real dumb move, for it doesn't stop ideas and information flow, and immediately identifies the petrified stovepiped enemy with no defense against intelligence freely shared for unbelievable gain.
But you were told that some time ago .... January 17 1984
[blockquote][Secretary of State] Shultz said, "We should look for ways to make surprise attack more difficult; to make miscalculation less likely; to inhibit the use of military might for intimidation and coercion ... and to enhance our ability to defuse incipient crises" One means towards those objectives, he noted, was "`to enhance the capacity fpr rapid communucations among our governments in times of crises" ...... Woops! In my last post, I neglected to respond precisely to article subject first!
"They" have no intention of turning off the Internet. It is the greatest source of information on malcontents since the Tien Min Square show.
It is a perfect "1984" vehicle and "They" certainly no longer care who knows what is going on, much less fear it, you,us. They own the whole game now " total surveillance by VOLUNTARY participation.
Fluoride and your cellphone is all that is needed. the United Nation's Agenda 21 will be the police and the Court " without recourse.

Greetings from Downunder!
It is true that distance and time improve perspective.
This very day a friend admonished me for my great concern over American politics, what did it have to do with us at the other end of the world?
It is the ultimate domino theory/thesis.
What has been done to one of the few independently armed and somewhat educated peoples on the planet in classic "1984" fashion is frightening and very pertinent.
My friend is right. We could forget the USA tomorrow " it is not important economically to us at all. Japan we need. (He was amazed to find that Japan is far more important a customer than China. 10 times greater and as for the USA we could simply stop trading with on silly terms and insane currency values).
What is very worrying is that the USA has never suffered much indignity at home. No invasions, no serious wars. Thus the psyche of the heavily armed and well-fed for generations American populace, should have had them by now, rioting and overthrown the the literal criminals that have bled them dry so blatantly. Blatantly.
Nothing.
No reaction.
From down here it is crystal clear:
Obama "the underdog's hope" was a scam. Look what he has done to the little people.
The whole CO2 scam has produced draconian controls worse than those of the "Patriot Act".
I would suggest everybody go take a look here:

Their needs and requirements both results from their own making and some inevitable, will be the justification. First on the agenda, will be the currency and investment markets collapse evolving in a blackout except for the printed page, of course saved by their masters. Mass hysteria, rush of "new" laws, already previously prepared, we each awaken to a much reduced and greatly restricted personal world.
