Interesting, but in essence a series of decrees, or, opinions which remain of real force and effect only so long as there are sufficient guns, trust and resources to enforce them, when, the very act of enforcement has the long term (NOW) attrition consequences of destroying the resources (trust, productivity, requires absolute property rights, or, why bother?) required to maintain the hierarchical power structure.

Thanks for the link. It appears that the ratification of international treaties does not supersede the Constitution as I believed. The Article in the Constitution that deals with this issue is Article VI which states inter alia:

"This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding."

Snopes, particularly with its responses to politically-charged issues, needs to be calibrated just as any other informational/media source. Of late they appear to have taken a decidedly left-friendly tilt in the way they "discern" the truth or falsity behind claims and events. The FALSE flag they applied to this one was primarily because the email example they trotted out claimed that the treaty has been signed, which it has not. Their article on this topic was last updated in May 2010.

What they did NOT discuss was the Reuters article embedded at the bottom of the example email which was, in fact, a real article based on State Department sources. Here's a link to that article:

Barring some series of international small-arms-related terror events (i.e. here we go again), this issue would not be made public about this before the 2012 U.S. elections. The American populace would not merely roll over for a shakedown of their Second Amendment rights.

The greatest gun grab in world history is in the midst of debate in the UN and is being pushed by Obama, Holder, Clinton, and all of Obama's Czars. Citizens of the United States, in fact citizens around the world, deserve to know what this treaty, if ratified by the Senate, would mean to Americans. Here is a brief synopsis:

• If ratified by the Senate the treaty would void the second amendment to the US Constituion.

• The Treaty would violate the 10th amendment transferring and federalizing gun ownership, regulation and licensing nationally.

• Require the establishment of a nation data bank (federal) of all gun owners.

• Ban the sale transportation and trade of all semi automatic guns that have been in use since the 1890's.

• Confiscate all "UNAUTHORIZED" (a word not defined in the document) civilian firearms.

• Require a federal license for the purchase and ownership of any gun.

My thought was that they believe they now have everything in place to accomplish this goal. Foreign policy is the domain of the Executive Branch. International Treaties once ratified are regarded as superior to the Constitution. (This is how many unconstitutional regulations have been promulgated and implemented in America.)

The recently created Super Congress may well be used to ratify the Treaty. If not the recently created voting procedure of disapproval may be used to ensure ratification. I would never underestimate the legal chicanery of the UNITED STATES CORPORATION (i.e. the alien entity that governs the American people from Washington D.C.).

In the past decades there has grown a large opposition to gun ownership in America and this can easily be used by the controlled media to drown out any organised protest against prohibition. Once ratified the Treaty and the regulations growing out of it will become the means whereby the Executive Branch will implement the disarming of the American population through the numerous law enforcement agencies already in existence for this purpose.

What surprises me is the belief that this cannot be done in America. As I have said before the American people are in a state of denial when it comes to recognising the extent to which their country and its original principles have literally been stolen from them. Most of them would now go quietly. The ones who resist would be demonised and incarcerated or killed with the approval of the majority.

The more I read the more I am convinced that people are stupid & lazy fools.

The greatest weapon of mass destruction was a promise of something for nothing. It worked perfectly in Russia back in the Bolsheviks times and it equally perfectly works now in America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. Did I forget somebody else?
