VIDEO: Occupy Wall Street's Bill Black Wants More FBI
In a revealing interview with DemocracyNow!'s Amy Goodman, famous criminal attorney Bill Black makes it very clear where he stands as regards the criminal justice system in the US. He wants more of it to investigate the current "mortgage scandal."
Attorney Black is no doubt an honest and decent man of significant accomplishments. But this is pretty amazing. The rule of law has been basically subverted in the US – and the FBI and Homeland Security are running roughshod over the few remaining "rights" that citizens supposedly have. But to Black, apparently this is not a problem. The loss of habeas corpus is not a problem. The Patriot Act is not a problem. The lawlessness of the judicial system is not a problem.
The innocent people dying on Death Row are not a problem. Four million incarcerated at any one time for things like smoking a marijuana cigarette is not a problem. The general, growing lawlessness of the criminal-industrial complex that is making slaves out of US prisoners by contracting out the justice system to "private enterprise" is not a problem.
The stupid system of "precedent" justice that sooner or later will result in the incarceration of the entire world is not a problem. The idea of 12 men in black robes deciding on the rules for everyone else including the unborn is not a problem. The determined removal of any vestige of private justice and the insane concept of a "debt to society" is not the problem. The only problem is that MORE FBI agents (an unconstitutional force to begin with) are not involved.
This is basically a blanket endorsement of the lawless, corrupt and vicious system of jurisprudence that has evolved in the US. How a movement like Occupy Wall Street can endorse Black's focus is something for the "leaders/non-leaders" of that movement to answer. We covered Black and his emergent partnership with Occupy Wall Street just a few days ago. You can see the article here: "Elite Banking Control of Occupy Wall Street Increasingly Obvious."

What Professor Black is suggesting, prosecuting all the white collar criminals at the CEO, COO level, is surely something that should be done but the interviewer made the point that this is not the direction the present administration is going in and Black agreed with that statement.
They also agreed that neither Obama, Romney nor Cain are likely to make any changes in that direction. Neither Black nor the interviewer mentioned Ron Paul but by a process of elimination it seems clear that he is the only one who WOULD change direction. Black did allude to a "bad" Republican nominee ensuring an Obama re-election but gave no hint of who that might be.
There is no doubt that the spider at the centre of the web is the Fed but there are many strands of accountability and each must be dealt with.

If one is waiting for the "system" to correct its deficiencies then you will be waiting for a very long time...
