Iraq has a national existence that goes back over 4000 years, and the United States and NATO decide that we need to "build a nation" there? What do these doofi know that I don't know?

It amazes me that a woman can say "give them more time to "chose" democracy" as if it's the only choice (which makes it a mandate, not a choice). And why should "we" make them "chose" anything? Who are "we" to tell another group of human to do this or do that?

If I was in the US, I might make an exception and vote for Ron Paul, but would prefer he formed his own party.

Obviously the interviewee served up a plate of scrambled eggs in explaining her foreign policy beliefs. The interesting part for me was at the end when she revealed a deeply embedded meme of positive associations with the word democracy. This is a constant meme I run across in my discussions with people on forms of government. I remind them that we grew up saying the pledge of allegiance: "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands... You don't see anything wrong with her belief that we need to be occupying and spreading American anything to sovereign nations? Does it not spur some thought in you? Do you find anything wrong with jihad? American or Muslim?
