Friday, November 18, 2011 – by Staff Report

One of the most disturbing points about the current OWS movement is its focus on punishment. "Wall Street," an aggregate community, must be "punished" for aggregate sins.

There seems to be little examination of what these sins are, however. Wall Street, in its initial composition, was a transactional business, a middle man. Middle-man prejudice, in fact, is a well known phenomenon.

There are REASONS that Wall Street in its modern form is abusive. It mostly has to do with the mingling of public and private interests together ... mercantilism. Mercantilism in this modern era is driven by central banking and the unlimited funds it gives to a shadowy elite that hides behind "rule of (state) law."

We've also heard the argument that fraud causes financial bubbles. But financial bubbles are caused by monetary inflation, which is the result of central banking overprinting of money. Financial bubbles surely provide a good incubating environment for fraud (as people are more apt to fall for scams during a boom when money is seemingly plenteous), but to focus on punishing the fraud without shutting down the mechanism (money printing) is to allow the cause to go unchecked while focusing on the symptoms.

Wall Street is so large and profitable these days because of regulation and central banking. Get rid of regulation and you'll have no more regulatory capture. Get rid of central banking and you'll starve modern Wall Street of its oxygen, what it needs to breathe. These are perfectly do-able procedures, but at this point we hardly see them being suggested.

No the rhetoric (and its media focus) is seemingly about class envy and the rich not paying "their faire share." it is as if the system that caused the current economic crisis is immutable and unchangeable. All that can be done is to attack the beneficiaries of the system in the name of "social justice."

Rather than attacking the problem of modern authoritarianism, OWS grass-roots protesters often seem to be intent on using that same authoritarianism to punish THEIR perceived enemies. Their chosen weapon is the state. But Western governments at this point are quite large and corrupt. Government is nothing if not adept at making up crimes.

We've argued for the longest time that eventually Western societies may unravel enough so people will begin to take justice into their own hands. This is called "private justice" and has been demonized in the modern era.

However, private justice for the most part has nothing to do with lynching or mob rule but with various time-honored methodologies of dealing with perceived fraud, criminality, etc. It is ad hoc and effective and often avoids violence and incarceration. It is the way justice was handled for thousands of years. The modern regulatory state and its "justice" is a fairly new invention.

Shalom lewfalo,

I HATE gravity, especially if I have a few drinks on me.

The whole concept of "gravity" is rather sick. What did I do to "gravity" that it punishes me when I stumble? I'm only human! All them "bloody"laws!

Lewfalo, you should take a running jump off some tall building & "to hell with all them laws"!

You do your own thing!

What a way to goooooooooooooooooooo!

Funny, in many ancient cultures resitution is far more important than locking someone up for two decades. In fact, it would likelynever occur to most "uncivilized people, only civilized ones.

The whole modern justice system is ludicrously expensive and entirely "weaponized." It is built to catch lower, middle and upper classes, while exempting those at the very top.

Don´t expect you to see this, but it could only happen in a central banking economy where those at the top have access to virtually unlimited amounts of money and use to build such things as a penal industrial complex.

But the US is bankrupt. And we shall see how much longer the meme of state justice lasts, or if private justice (much fairer and less destructive), which worked for tens of thousands of years, makes a return.

In fact, we have predicted that the dominant social theme of state justice is going to come under attack just the way central banking and global warming have. (And many other elite memes.) Many smart people have woken up now, thanks to the Internet.

That doesn´t mean bad things will change all of a sudden. But it is hard to build one-world government when the building blocks have eroded. What to do? Turn off the Internet to stop the erosion? Not so easy, perhaps ...

Are the foundation stones beginning to crumble? Possible? Here´s a thought: As you stand atop your grandiose and unexpectedly-decaying Tower of Babble penning billions inside in servitude, despair and death, better watch out belooooooooooooooooooooooow ....

Shalom

Shalom,

One of the most important questions in TORAH is, "Was Moshe schizophrenic & hearing voices in his head or was YHWH really talking to him?

If Moshe WAS schizophrenic then the whole Chosen People & Promised Land thing is dead in the water & the Arabs have as much right to the land as anyone else.

If YHWH was REALLY talking to Moshe, then He was the FIRST anti-Semite!

Exodus 32:7-10

7 At the same time, the LORD said to Moses, 'Go down from this mountain. Your people, the people you brought out of the land of Egypt, have committed a terrible sin. 8 They have very quickly turned away from what I commanded them to do. They made a calf from melted gold for themselves. They are worshiping that calf and making HUMAN sacrifices to it. The people have said, 'Israel, these are the gods that led you out of Egypt.'
9 The LORD said to Moses, 'I have seen these people, and I know that they are very stubborn. They will always turn against me. 10 So now let me DESTROY THEM in anger. Then I will make a great nation from you.'

"If Moshe WAS schizophrenic then the whole Chosen People & Promised Land thing is dead in the water & the Arabs have as much right to the land as anyone else."

Wouldn't the principle of homesteading determine who has the "right" and who doesn't?

YHVH never existed; neither did the other 10,000 or so deities since humans invented them (at least not outside of the the minds of the "believers").

I get amused at our local news reporting on the Occupy movement here. I have followed it to see how enlightened the people in my community are. Some updates:

To begin with, it was "organized" by a 21 year old philosophy major at the local university. It was set up on the lot next to, and with permission of, Chase bank. This organizer stated who they were: "A non-violent, anti-racist, anti-sexist, anti-homophobic and anti-classist movement." They had shelters with full kitchens and bedrooms. University students. Hmm. Nearby came a group who were Ron Paul supporters. Heehee

Now they report they are shifting directions. "Some of the people who originally came out were turned off by some who came later." (Smile) They claim that some homeless and mentally ill had joined as well. So the organizer (the 21 year old) said they had difficulties keeping the protest a protest. The little genious states, "Because of the problems of mental illness that are not being addresses by the system, as they should be, we as non-professionals cannot begin to address these problems."

Now they will focus efforts on creating community centers and food banks that will hopefully help create some of the change they've been calling for. University students. 21 year olds. Yep.

Some signs they were holding: "capitalism does not equal democracy", "no war but class war", "Fox news propaganda"-(that one was enlightening?)
