And Then There Was 'Thrive' ...
We have written about "Thrive," the movie, which just made its debut. Sure enough, our skepticism seems warranted. In fact, we'll be very blunt. The power elite (that wants to take over the world in our opinion) fights back against alternative media memes with exceptional fierceness. They do so by using three methodologies.
1) They create false websites that discredit free-market thinking and ridicule market-based solutions to current problems, including Austrian Economics.
2) Many faux websites (not all, by the way) place free-market solutions side-by-side with articles about space aliens, UFOs and other unproven phenomenon. Some of this may have be newsworthy and thought-provoking, but for the middle-class "intelligentsia" it is likely to prove a turnoff.
3) Other faux websites practice the "limited hangout" approach – wherein they present the world's reality in such detail and in such gruesome terms that it only inspires hopelessness, which turns into lack of social or personal "human action."
A hypothesis (admittedly we have not seen the movie): It seems to fall into the second category. That is, it pretends to be an examination of the power elite but it conflates this power-elite analysis with an "alien code." This does two things. For many people it makes the movie a kind of "crackpot" endeavor (and we note they've gone out of their way to include many prominent free-market thinkers in their narrative). Second, it doesn't apparently produce any real solutions, inspiring helplessness and fear rather than inspiration or education.
Here is what we wrote way back on October 12, 2011:
And then there is something called Thrive, brought to us by ... Foster Gamble. On November 11, Thrive will unveil a documentary about a new energy source. Here's what the religious website "Fanatics for Jesus" had to say about Thrive:
Foster Gamble, heir to the Procter and Gamble fortune, is part of a disinformation campaign to lure in the unsuspecting. The planned air date: 11/11/11, should be a red flag to anyone knowing anything about numerology – a tool used by the occult. The message? There is an ancient code imbedded into arts and icon throughout the centuries that will provide a way to save our planet. The code happens to come from extraterrestrials. The suppression of the UFO phenomena is the suppression of free energy. Should we be surprised?
In this movie trailer, it's a Who's Who New Age line-up – all plugging a planet in distress in need of a solution, and the need to use any and all information being covered up – including full disclosure. Note that Bill Still, a professing Christian, has given his permission to be part of this production – another red flag. Interviews in the Thrive movie are with: Duane Elgin, Nassim Haramein, Steven Greer, Jack Kasher, Daniel Sheehan, Adam Trombly, Brian O'Leary, Vandana Shiva, John Gatto, John Robbins, Deepak Chopra, David Icke, Catherine Austin Fitts, G. Edward Griffin, Bill Still, John Perkins, Paul Hawken, Aqeela Sherrills, Evon Peter, Angel Kyodo Williams, Elisabet Sahtouris, Amy Goodman, and Barbara Marx Hubbard.
Here's a press release from the producers of "Thrive":
THRIVE is an unconventional documentary that lifts the veil on what's REALLY going on in our world by following the money upstream – uncovering the global consolidation of power in nearly every aspect of our lives. Weaving together breakthroughs in science, consciousness and activism, THRIVE offers real solutions, empowering us with unprecedented and bold strategies for reclaiming our lives and our future ...
Is this really the best we can do? Did the universe labor for nearly 14 billion years only to bring forth a species that would end up as an enemy to life itself, and to its own Home? We don't think so. Like so many of you, we have spent nearly a lifetime trying to figure out what happened – what is happening that could account for the staggering agony and deprivation on this planet.
Our research led us to places we never expected to go, revealing surprising discoveries that seemed unrelated at first, but which turned out to be crucially connected, as you'll see.
We came across a code – a pattern in nature that's been embedded in arts and icons throughout the centuries. We believe this code holds the key to a new source of clean, sustainable energy that could completely revolutionize the way all people live ...
Thrive also makes use the elite's dominant social theme we've already identified in past articles. You can read some stories we've written about this elite dominant social theme here:

@Texas,
Nothing to see here, move along...
Unless I'm mistaken DB has abandoned this piece along with their stated intention to review it responsibly.
Sad...

DB- Indeed, the discerning must constantly be on the alert for misinformation, disinformation and distraction in the Elite's Hegelian efforts to ratchet-up their position.
I saw the complete 2-hour video in a showing last week. Despite an opening theme on crop circle topics, there is a lengthy exposition of banks, debt, Elite families (by name) and such. Discerning, perceptive viewers are free to make up their own minds about the worth of content of the video.

The day before disclosure - Full VIDEO Click to view link - assumably one of the best newer documentaries about the UFO phenomenon (2010)
'The Day Before Disclosure is a film documenting the growing awareness and the build up to what can potentially be the single, most important event in human history -- the day the UFO and ET presence becomes a world wide accepted reality.
This is the story of the witnesses that was laughed at, the researchers and reporters that wasn't believed and the governmental and military personnel that were sworn to silence. A story that alters the foundation of everything you thought you knew, and takes you along for a ride all the way from the darkest abyss of living nightmares, through to the brightest hope for the future of humanity.
This is the greatest story in human history.

The only alternative is to fear the consequences. They foment and then feed off our fear and I refuse to feed them. The truth is my savior, my fate is my fate, absent fear of the agenda.

Hey Prometheus thanks for the links. Haven't got through them all but was keen to the content of Jaeger as a contributor to this site and his candid views regarding THRIVE.
In contrast, I fear that too many try to reason from a 5-sense perspective without giving consideration to the possibility that our frame of reference in viewing 'reality" is mostly based on a set of manipulated lies or "directed history", and most of what we have been taught and conditioned to believe by our controllers are obstacles that limit the possibilities.
A foundational precept that I operate from is that the fundamental nature of matter is empty space; consider the analogy of a golf ball as the nucleus of an atom with an electron cloud the size of a football field. On a cumulative level everything perceived as 'real' is 99.999999% nothing (or something not "matter"), comprised of vibratory energy. It's all an illusion for the 5-sense perception. That gives me license to believe much more is possible and real than others that are stuck with old contrived systems 'knowing' what's real based upon what others have told them is real. So free energy? Why not, Alien visitation? Parallel reality? Hmmmmm...
The reality is that even with this foundation and the latitude of beliefs it makes possible, they're still just beliefs. But I feel it's very important to have them fortified by the 6th sense. I'm an engineer by trade and try and employ logic and deductive reasoning to my beliefs, but in the end my gut governs my final, though transitory beliefs.
There's only one thing I 'know'; it's that I know nothing, possibly until my life force leaves the meat sack. Then I may possibly finally know.
Scary as it can be (but doesn't have to be) It's a great time to be alive, no?
I'm still waiting for the elves to publish their review. Not that I need them to, or that I care about being disappointed as they have suggested. I really couldn't care less about what the collective elves believe because in the end it's still just a belief. I just hope they understand the importance toward maintaining creditability that you do what you say you will do.
Regardless, I do think I understand in general what one of their elves believe, it was not so disappointing.
Thanks again for the links, I was unaware of Click to view link and will be spending more time there, and evaluating the others.

Then this comment from daily anarchist(check out the somewhat hilarious debate between Seth and Foster Gamble about ownership and Seth refuses to follow Gamble's request to take the film off his site)
Quote from the same thread:

While I am mostly in agreement with the skeptics about the scientific validity of the film's hypotheses in the first part, I stuck with it, watched all the way through and was favorably impressed with the sound Austrian economics, explanation of money and banking, general social analysis, and conclusions solidly in the direction of a peaceful voluntaryist system of social organization. Yes, there is much shaky speculation there, but overall I think it's a good vehicle with which to reach especially the more New Age-oriented with the message of free market non-aggression. The film does pack a lot into a relatively short space.
I too had read the Daily Bell's commentary and they may be right about a deeper and less straightforward motive, although the Gambles certainly sound sincere about their agenda. I think it borders on pointless to argue that the new energy stuff makes the film appear to be the work of crackpots, most people think that anyone promoting the non-aggression principle are crackpots anyway. Besides, it is now quite apparent that much discovered recently in the field of physics and cosmology would have seemed completely crazy to most anyone a century ago. Pretty much anyone making a revolutionary discovery sounds like a nut until their invention or theory is demonstrated. I believe there is much more to learn about the universe than we already know, and that we are indeed on the verge of truly fantastic discoveries in energy production. Think positive!
Too bad there's such a controversy about the distribution rights. It would be nice if Gamble would take Seth's advice about using the wider distribution of a freely shared video to increase his revenue, if that's what he's interested in (although I wonder just how much in need of income a Gamble heir would be)."

Hi Prometheus,
Thanks for all the quotes, compelling indeed. Hopefully the "elves" are reading them still.
Just wanted to reassure your post are not going unread,. I keep checking in to see if the DB 'elves' have fulfilled their repeated assertions that they would provide a [responsible] REVIEW of this information.
A REVIEW rather than the arrogant replies to their "dear readers" who call them out for being irresponsible for 'COMMENTING' on something they have not exercised due diligence with beyond jumping to conclusions in past coverage. Particularly given they had already commented, as they gloated in their updated 'COMMENTS'. But really it was an adjunct to another 'piece' on David DeGraw & OWS… perhaps they discussed it elsewhere but really what difference does it make if the 'COMMENTS' preceded the debut, really?! And to question Griffin's role in it to boot?!
I used to promote this site ad nauseum, possibly to my detriment with the 'asleeple sheople'; those I love, and some am only acquainted with. No longer…
Until I see an honest objective review by DB I refuse to even rate the articles, much less recommend the site. Perhaps it is because I was one of the readers that sent the article to them the morning before they 'covered' it, so I'm vested, to a very small degree.
The arrogance displayed by the 'elves' with their responses to their 'dear readers' ( I no longer consider myself one… more like an observer) is unfortunate because it erodes credibility that is hard won in this 'internet reformation' age … with it, the irresponsibly on this piece is only compounded in my humble opinion.
Please be gentle 'elves' I'm really going out on a limb here… NOT! You may think you KNOW it all but even my ignorant mind knows better than think I have anything but beliefs unless I physically experience something with my five senses, and even then only with concurrence from the sixth.
As a people our attention spans are so short so you may be the only one that reads this Prometheus. Mission accomplished.
Reply from The Daily Bell
It will be reviewed. You may not like the review.

On May 11, 1962 NASA pilot Joseph Walker said that one of his tasks was to detect UFOs during his X-15 flights. He had filmed five or six UFOs during his record breaking fifty-mile-high flight in April, 1962. It was the second time he had filmed UFOs in flight. To date none of those films has been released to the public for viewing. During a lecture at the Second National Conference on the Peaceful Uses of Space Research in Seattle, Washington, he stated:
"I don't feel like speculating about them. All I know is what appeared on the film which was developed after the flight."
-- NASA Pilot Joseph A. Walker
"The evidence points to the fact that Roswell was a real incident and that indeed an alien craft did crash, and that material was recovered from that site. We all know that UFOs are real. All we need to ask is where do they come from, and what do they want?"
--Capt. Edgar Mitchell Apollo 14 Astronaut
"I was testing a P-51 fighter in Minneapolis when I spotted this object. I was at about 10,000 feet on a nice, bright, sunny afternoon. I thought the object was a kite, then I realized that no kite is gonna fly that high." As I got closer it looked like a weather balloon, gray and about three feet in diameter. But as soon as I got behind the darn thing it didn't look like a balloon anymore. It looked like a saucer, a disk. About the same time, I realized that it was suddenly going away from me -- and there I was, running at about 300 miles per hour. I tracked it for a little way, and then all of a sudden the damn thing just took off. It pulled about a 45 degree climbing turn and accelerated and just flat disappeared."
--Mercury Astronaut Capt. Donald Slayton
"Let there be no doubt. Alien technology harvested from the infamous saucer crash in Roswell, N.Mex., in July 1947 led directly to the development of the integrated circuit chip, laser and fiber optic technologies, Particle beams, Electromagnetic propulsion systems, Depleted uranium projectiles, Stealth capabilities, and many others! How do I know? I was in charge! (A matter of public record)I think the kids on this planet are wise to the truth, and I think we ought to give it to them. I think they deserve it.
--Colonel Philip Corso Army Intelligence officer, former head of the Foreign Technology at the U.S. Army's Research and Development department at the Pentagon. Four years director of intelligence on President Eisenhower's White House National Security Staff
Skeptic Quote -- "Radio has no future. Heavier-than-air flying machines are impossible. X-rays will prove to be a hoax."

The body of excellent evidence in respect to ETs is overwhelming and much information has come out. Correspondingly, there would be no easy way to inform the public of the Extraterrestrial existence, and no one government or military group to tell it.
The situation is extremely complex, with some of it quite disturbing. The sudden announcement of the true reality of ETs would have a profound effect on Earth's cultural, financial, religious, and social institutions. There appears investigators uncovering undeniable proof of a working relation between members of the Intelligence Agencies; the Pentagon and various off-world races that is totally separate from the perhaps hundreds or even thousands of contactee cases around the Globe. They had better tread softly.
Not UFO Related but Very Significant - Ike was Right! Dwight D. Eisenhower, 1960 Farewell Public Address
Until the latest of our world conflicts, the United States had no armaments industry. American makers of plowshares could, with time and as required, make swords as well. But now we can no longer risk emergency improvisation of national defense; we have been compelled to create a permanent armaments industry of vast proportions. Added to this, three and a half million men and women are directly engaged in the defense establishment. We annually spend on military security more than the net income of all United States corporations.
This conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms industry is new in the American experience. The total influence -- economic, political, even spiritual -- is felt in every city, every State house, every office of the Federal government. We recognize the imperative need for this development. Yet we must not fail to comprehend its grave implications. Our toil, resources and livelihood are all involved; so is the very structure of our society.
In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the militaryindustrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.
We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together.
Akin to, and largely responsible for the sweeping changes in our industrial military posture, has been the technological revolution during recent decades.
In this revolution, research has become central; it also becomes more formalized, complex, and costly. A steadily increasing share is conducted for, by, or at the direction of, the Federal government.
Today, the solitary inventor, tinkering in his shop, has been overshadowed by task forces of scientists in laboratories and testing fields. In the same fashion, the free university, historically the fountainhead of free ideas and scientific discovery, has experienced a revolution in the conduct of research. Partly because of the huge costs involved, a government contract becomes virtually a substitute for intellectual curiosity. For every old blackboard there are now hundreds of new electronic computers.
The prospect of domination of the nation's scholars by Federal employment, project allocations, and the power of money is ever present and is gravely to be regarded. To those who remain skeptical about the value of UFO research, here are some suggestions:
Read the serious and relevant UFO literature. Learn about the UFO investigators and research organizations. Know the facts behind the phenomenon. Study the data and do not confuse facts with speculation. Examine the research methods and arguments of skeptics.
Remember that honest and serious skepticism requires an understanding of the data, relevant scientific and social research, and the world-wide history of the UFO mystery

Wake up folks. Its coming from a PROCTOR & GAMBLE heir. Remember that Rothschild heir peddling climate change? Millions spent producing this for naught? I don't swallow this pill.
The end result is again the crushing of God and push toward this new age Lucis Trust consciousness (and I've PERSONALLY been to their meetings). Its got the God-less Stephen Molyneux all over the place (sorry, not a fan).
And then there is the alien agenda. The Report from Iron Mountain mentions how they will stage a fake alien invasion to unite humanity. Top UFOlogists Jacques Vallee and J. Allen Hynek have determined it to be a extraDIMENSIONAL phenomena, etc.
