VIDEO: The Volt – What a Wonderful Car!

By Staff Report

Confessions of a Volt owner ... After driving the Chevrolet Volt for 14 months and saving about $1800 per year on gas, the electric car owner shares his experiences. – CNN/YouTube

Dominant Social Theme: Nothing better that a GM Volt! CNN reports ...

Free-Market Analysis: We found this video at CNN and it's certainly an example of an elite dominant social theme, in our view.

The Western Anglosphere power elite made up of Jewish and Catholic elites along with corporate, royalist and military-types are trying to take over the world and use fear-based promotions to do so.

One of the biggest of these fear-based promotions – intended to frighten Western middle classes into giving up power and wealth to globalist entities like the UN – is energy scarcity.

Global warming was all about trying to ensure that people are frightened into believing that if they use oil and gas they are contributing to the breakdown of the world's ecosystems.

Global warming, in our view, is just plain nonsense. The idea that humans contribute enough carbon dioxide to the planet's atmosphere to make an appreciable difference is loony, in our view. Almost all the atmospheric thickening is due to water vapor anyway.

But that doesn't stop the onslaught of propaganda. The US military is the number one polluter on the planet. You'll never hear about that, though. The US military is the enforcement arm of the Anglosphere, and they are not apt to run exposes of its wasteful ways.

And while the powers-that-be are trying to convince us that the world is ending from global warming, they are simultaneously promoting the idea of oil-scarcity.

There is probably more oil in the world than one could adequately use in millennia, given current rates. The idea that oil is made from dinosaur soup is also disingenuous. It is probably a geological process.

Recently one of the Forbes brothers of magazine fame recently concluded that there was enough DISCOVERED oil in the US lower 48 to fuel current consumption for 1,000 years.

Yet still Westerners (and the world) are subject to endless propaganda on this front. That's the way the elites work – they use the basics of human survival to threaten people. The world is running out of ... food, water and energy.

Alternatively, the elites threaten people's security, whipping up paranoia with Illuminist symbolism or by actively promoting violence and organized wars.

This little clip from CNN is a good example of this fear-based propaganda. We don't know who made it, but it is presented by CNN (and it's on YouTube as well) as some sort of journalistic "scoop."

It shows a kindly, middle-aged man – a successful doctor – telling us about his love for the Volt. It is helping wean the US from "foreign oil" and reducing the amount of carbon dioxide in the air, he claims.

Of course, as we've just pointed out, there is likely plenty of oil in the US. As for carbon dioxide, where does he think the Volt is getting its power from when he "plugs in"? Why, from coal-powered plants, of course, the main producers of the (falsely) dreaded carbon dioxide.

Everything in this facile, little video can be easily rebutted if the journalistic honchos would take even a little time to investigate. But the video is not ABOUT journalism. It's shameless promotion of the worst kind.

Westerners are so used to this sort of factual manipulation at this point that it doubtless seems ho-hum to point out that the mainstream media throughout the West is controlled. The elites use "news" as merely another promotional tool to inculcate their themes and memes.

The power elite is surely engaged in a war with the larger mass of citizens to generate a New World Order. In this dawning authoritarian environment, people will be more controlled than ever. That much is clear.

Yes, it's all about control, and one way that the elites want to perpetuate and expand control is by making sure that people's transportation is limited.

Anything "big" is good – and the large power plants necessary to provide energy to electrical cars are helpful in terms of moving society from one of maximum mobility (using easily replenished oil and gas) to a formal and stagnant "grid-based" model.

Are those in charge of society seeking you ought – for any reason? Not hard to find you. All they need to do is shut down your power. Your car won't charge and your house won't light up. The "illumination" is then up to the authorities. That's the way they want it.

The Volt is a lousy car. It's been thoroughly rejected by the public and no doubt the powers-that-be are in the process of launching more promotions for it and its electrical brethren in Japan, Germany, etc.

Here are some of the articles we've written about the Volt: "The End of GM  Again?" and "GM – A Sucker's Bet?".

And here you can see the video (click on the image) ...

That is very interesting. I'd never read of these engines before, thanks for the link. The increased mass, and complexity of the water injection system, and tank, could be canceled out by the elimination of a cooling system. At the gas station you'd have one hose for fuel, and one for water. I suspect that they would be better suited for static applications, like electrical generators. Mechanics would hate them, simply because they would be different.

Some things you'd have to do to avoid wear, and corrosion would be to makes sure the water was very pure, distilled would be good, also I'd stop injecting water for a while before shutting down, to make sure the oil in the crankcase, and the exhaust system got hot enough, and had time to dry out well. Sulfur, and nitrous oxides can dissolve into water droplets, in such places, raising the water's boiling point, and greatly accelerating corrosion.

I have hope that the ultimate "heat engine", will be no engine at all. Great progress is being made in the development of thermoelectric materials, as our understanding of practical quantum mechanics grows, and we master the control of materials on the nanometer scale. Imagine it, high temperature heat in, electrical current(DC), and waste heat out. No moving parts, except for electrons, and phonons(sound quanta that move heat around on the quantum level in solids). Such a solid state device would have an indefinite lifespan, limited mostly by manufacturing defects, and mishap, much like a modern transistor.

In reply to the editor. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be opaque. "Tesla's polyphase electric AC mindchild" is a prosaic way of referring to the three phase ac motor. One version is the three phase induction motor, that lift's and lowers the elevators you ride on, pumps the water you drink(unless you have your own well, and maybe then if you have a large one), and turns the compressor shaft of the chiller of your office building's air conditioning system. The version used in modern electric cars, is a lighter, higher efficiency version that uses permanent magnets on the rotor to provide it's magnetic field. Current versions are under the hood, but eventually the drive motors will be integrated into the wheels. One of the advantages of these motors, is that they provide large torques at zero motor speed, obviating the need of a clutch, or transmission. Notwithstanding, the Tesla sports car has a 2 speed geared transmission, the better to destroy tires with. This is the secret of it's ridiculously low quarter mile times. When comparing horsepower, or kilowatt ratings of IC and electric motors, you should realize that an IC engine's nominal rating is it's highest possible power output. Electric motors are rated differently. In general, they may be operated at their nominal rating for an indefinite period. Typically they can be operated at 250% of rated power for 15 minutes. The reason for this is that is is difficult to cool the rotor. So a 100 Hp electric motor could be operated for 15 minutes at 250 Hp. On the other hand, as a mechanical engineer, I would consider operating a 100 Hp automotive gasoline engine for 15 minutes at 100Hp abusive, since it is really not designed for such use.

"it's all about control, and one way that the elites want to perpetuate and expand control is by making sure that people's transportation is limited"

The author has no understanding about the Volt. The volt is a plugin hybrid than can run on gas or run on power from the grid or run on power generated by the owner. This does not limit transportation choices, but it gives more choices!

So how can a car that has more choices on how it is powered be limiting people's transportation? Answer: it doesn't.

I am someone who believes in self sufficiency. Besides growing my own fruit, vegitables and having chickens I also generate most of my own power. This runs my house and thanks to the volt it also powers much of my transportation. How does this help the elites as the author is suggesting?

The author then goes on to call someone else's article shameless. Wow!

"So how can a car that has more choices on how it is powered be limiting people's transportation?" ....

Hm-mm ... How about the same way the US income tax was only supposed to apply to the wealthiest citizens when it was initially passed and implemented ...

Marty, have you looked at the 6 cycle engine? Kinda cool, though still Otto cycle.

Tesla invented the induction motor at a time when all motors had brushes. Induction motors are used almost exclusively today. Tesla's original electric car did not use batteries. It had an 80 hp electric motor. It's existence is contested.

Modern EV motors generally use permanent magnets on the armature because it is more efficient.
Wheel-hub motors seem to be the most efficient.

You make a good point. The pseudo-jew neocons I see warmongering on the idiot box, shave regularly, don't wear hat's, and regularly show up on Saturday news shows. To paraphrase a Hasidic rabbi protesting against Israeli aggression, that I saw berated by a faux Jew Zionist warmonger on youtube "If you are a Jew, where is your beard? Why do you go around with your head uncovered? Do you even keep the Sabbath? Would a Jew forget the covenant with God?". Needless to say, the warmonger was livid, and lacked a good comeback.

I particularly enjoyed watching the obviously good relations between Hasidic jews, and President Ahmadinejad of Iran, on a visit several years ago to NYC to address the UN. By the way, did you know that Iran has the largest middle eastern Jewish population outside Israel?

I'm not a geologist, or a petroleum engineer, but I know the difference between oil reserves, and economically recoverable oil reserves. I have no doubt that total oil reserves are huge, particularly if you include kerogen in so called oil shale in the total. It is true that we will never run out of oil, if for no other reason, that eventually it will become cheaper to use something other than oil, because of the increasingly poor quality of the "oil", and lower cost alternatives, created by my fellow engineers.

As to anthropogenic warming. The percentage of CO2 in the atmosphere has been steadily rising since the beginning of the industrial revolution, in part because of the use of fossil fuels, mostly coal, not oil. This is a know fact. The result in regard to the climate is debatable. While the major greenhouse gas at tropical latitudes, and at temperate latitudes in warmer weather is H2O, within the arctic and antarctic circles, and temperate climes in below freezing temperatures, it's effect is negligible. The fact that there is very little "global warming" noticeable at the equator, and lot's at the poles is telling. Methane, and oxides of nitrogen, which are both metastable in our atmosphere, are also significant greenhouse gasses.

Finally, a subject I feel fully qualified to comment on, as an electrical and mechanical engineer, electric cars.

The Otto cycle(spark ignition), and Diesel cycle(compression ignition)engines, in practice at least, are a couple of the most disgustingly complicated, extraordinarily inefficient, contraptions know to the mind of man. Yes it's true, contrary to popular belief, any engineer, who is worth his salt, despises unnecessary complexity. I have often said that Occam's razor is not only a fine tool for elucidation, but also for machine design.

What very few people realize, including auto mechanics, is that the thing that makes Otto, and Diesel, the kings of transportation, is not that they are powerful, or efficient, or reliable. It is that they cheat. They don't carry their waste heat rejection heat exchangers along with them. Instead, without permission(presumptuous don't you think?), as if they truly were sovereigns, they use your, and my real estate as one. In other words they just dump their waste products into the atmosphere. That's it! It makes them light, and thus easy to carry around, unlike any practical closed cycle engine.

As opposed to Otto's, and Diesel's red haired step children, Mr Tesla's polyphase AC electric mindchild is neither mechanically complex, or at all inefficient. You see, Tesla is no mere sovereign, but in the words of the Sikh, a Waheguru, which loosely translates to "wondrous teacher". Like a true or Satiguru, he never asked anyone to follow him, but his followers are legion. He never desired wealth, and seldom patented his inventions, yet wealth flowed from his creations like water from a river. His motor has two bearings, that's it, two! It can easily reach 98% efficiency, and is actually not just a motor, but an alternator(the opposite of a motor), if that is what you desire! In most applications, it needs no cooling, other than the air that surrounds it, never needs an oil change, a tune up, or a rebuild. Chances are, that it will not only outlast your car, but you too! Unless the materials that are required for it's construction are expensive(see neodymium), it is inherently cheaper to build than a internal combustion engine of similar maximum power. Pretty much the only drawback, is that its "fuel", electrical current, is difficult to store. Therein lies the rub. Batteries suck. Damn all chemists, electrochemists anyway!

I've worked with the technologies that are used in modern electric cars for decades now, in the machine tool industry, with the exception of the batteries. I can tell you beyond a shadow of a doubt, that once the public gets a taste of electric vehicles, they will not want to go back to their IC stink wagons. I'm not going to argue that Government Motor's Volt does not suck, I think pretty much everything they've ever built sucks, even before they came under the fabulous management of the US government. I own a Honda, a Nissan, and a Kawasaki, and did own a couple of Toyotas that were all fine vehicles. Please note which companies that a mechanical, and electrical engineer, who would presumably know a lot about machinery, buys his vehicles from. If I were to buy an electric vehicle today, it would be the Nissan Leaf.

Honda is building a fuel cell based EV, that should be a good car, assuming you can buy hydrogen where you want to go. Of particular interest, they are developing(their website says), a cogenerating hydrogen station for your home. It reforms natural gas, with steam, and a catalyst(hopefully not platinum as is usually used by industry), into H2, heats your home, and provides electricity for your home. Since the heating(air conditioning is possible too) is done with waste heat from the reforming process, there could be a cost saving, depending on the cost of the station.

Of course the PTB can cut off your natural gas (as well as your gasoline) too. It is not generally known, but gasoline has a short shelf life. There are stabilizers you can use to increase it, but it still isn't that long. Perhaps a few years. Diesel oil, or if you prefer, number 2 fuel oil, can be stored indefinitely. Just make sure that the storage container is air tight. Water, in fuel oil, is of particular concern.

To restate, EVs are simpler, if well executed they are more reliable, require less maintenance, and are cheaper on a per mile basis than IC vehicles if driven lots of miles. Batteries cause them to be more expensive to purchase, have range limitations, and long refuel times. Fuel cells eliminate range, and refueling time problems, but some types require hydrogen. New battery, and capacitor technologies could be disruptive, in a good way. New technologies could replace existing batteries in already built cars, since electrical technologies are relatively easy to retrofit.

Thanks for the input. Interesting. Where is Tesla's motor in use now?

Whether or not the world is awash in plenty of oil or not, gasoline is expensive. For some people a PHEV such as the Volt (but I favor the Toyota Prius PHEV) makes good economic sense. If one's commute allows one to use cheaper electric power most of the time, vs expensive gasoline, one might be able to save enough money to overcome the cost of the batteries. There's nothing wrong with saving money. As the battery technology improves more and more people will fall into the category where a PHEV makes good economic sense.

Daily Bell clarifies ... "Obviously we meant Jewish and Catholic elites ... "

You have restored some credibility with me, but not all! Jewish and Catholic "elites" are for sure players in all this global drama, but you need to be more specific when you make these statements as this was a very serious error on your part. One must be cognizant of the ramifications inherent in the labeling of Jews and Christians as "Elites trying to take over the world". That is what the Nazis, the Vatican and the Muslims did in the 1930's which lead up to the holocaust. (Think "Protocols of the Elders of Zion")

Never the less, thank you for clarifying! Your credibility has been restored to a large degree in my view, and I am glad I do not have to give up reading the Daily Bell which I view as an important and scholarly work!

I saw a commercial in which GM stated the battery for the Volt had been tested for "over 395,000 hours." Really? That equates to 45.09 YEARS of testing, I didn't realize that in 1966 electric car batterys were in production. Another scam put on by elites.

So when I read this article claiming 1,000 years of oil supply in N. America I got a sense of deja vu. Sure, throw in Alberta's oil sands, but please use google images on that. It's like Mordar up around Fort MacMurray, and doesn'ts come close to supply that much oil. A pretty poor effort, this article. Please supply links to reputable geologists supporting your claims of 1,000 years of oil or I will have to stop reading your site. Thanks

GM spent $ 1 billion, I believe to develop the GM EV. Then, they killed it. Since GM developed so much expertise with the EV, I expected them to hit the ground running with the Volt. Too bad.

As far as the jews go, one has to differentiate. NOT the jews who just want to pass through life, raise a few kids, etc. NOT the jews who are honest and hard working. NOT the jews who have won so many Nobel prises and added so much to man and society.

I object to Henry Ford's jews. I object to the European jews transplanted to Palestine who brought ethnic cleansing with them. Menachem Begin comes to mind. I object to the jews in the Knesset that can't even get a U.S. visa because they are on a terrorist list.

I object to the jews who drug America into murderous and expensive wars to bomb their rivals back into the stone-age. I object to the jews who have no intention of making an honest living. Madoff comes to mind. I object to the jews who blindly follow.

I object to the jews who see the Protocols as their guide. I object to the jews who arm the world hoping to profit from the carnage.

I could go on but, you get the idea.

I also object to the christians, etc who hope to profit as parasites.

How many countries have the Mennonites been kicked out of? How about the Amish ,,, the Buddhists?

Rothschild said "give Me control of a country's money".

That's it right there. THE LUST FOR CONTROL.

Drop the control crap and we'll all get along.

Work hard and forget the parasite crap. That goes for every group.

As for total electric propelled vehicles, I see no big problem. Battery technology may be weak, but such technology has not been refined over the past century as has the internal combustion engine. And I'm happy with our two hybrid cars, regarding both their performances and economies.

Also, I have no feelings about the so called "elite" trying to scare us into fuel efficient vehicles. What somewhat scares me are fuel prices. Evidently fuel prices are getting more scary. However my wife who enjoys her 55 mpg doesn't even notice the prices with a 10 gal tank (550 miles in one tank).

I must admit to a prejudice regarding Chevrolet. Seems to me that Chevrolet management has exploited the band's popularity over many years by cutting a lot of quality corners. The result is a line of cars which only mechanics can love. Of course, there are many factors in the demise of Chevrolet quality; hence it's not surprising that the Volt doesn't have the following that other similar vehicles have. - - Especially at $ 40,000 a pop.

Huh?!?!?

"The Western Anglosphere power elite made up of Jews, Christians ... trying to take over the world ... "

Surely I am missing something here, surely I am misreading this? A very cogent and inspired article that cuts to the chase and tells the truth has suddenly become disjointed and suspect by revealing that the here-to-fore mysterious Anglosphere Power Elite is none-other than ... "Jews and Christians trying to take over the world".

Please tell me this was a typo or that I misunderstood or something so I don't have to conclude that The Daily Bell actually believes that. I have here-to-fore enjoyed this site too much and have gained so many insights reading it that it would be a tragedy to end it all with this.

Do you think the volt might turn out to be a darkside/lightside switcheroo?

I think some major events in the past were initiated with either bad or good intent and then got taken over by the other side to turn it on its head.

For example, an alchemist teacher may have wanted to help humanity in the past but the darksiders took it over and politised it creating religion turning a good intention into a very successful brainwashing technique and controlling information.

A reversal of this would be the Internet. The internet, spawned by the military may have had the intent of surveillance and increasing robotisation through future micro-chipping etc. but was quickly taken over by the lightside in the explosion of decentralization of information.

What if the electric car has the darkside intent of centralized and authoritative control of transport and energy only to be turned on its head when say in 20 years time some free energy researcher publishes their video on the Internet on how to make your own 5KW/hr device in your own garage at a small cost. Suddenly, BOOM! transport and energy become just as decentralized as information. Think about it!

Posted by Bluebird on 02/29/12 06:44 PM

You must not know of the drama that the dear writers here have gone through over the fact they did not name "Jews". Now to include the Jews in a list is wrong as well? Sometimes you just can't win. Calling the controllers simply "Anglosphere" was deceptive to some, crying it was the "Jews". Why is so difficult for us to read these great articles and see the actual POINT here? People who control the world are taking the wealth of it away by using such schemes.

  Posted by fabien_hug on 02/29/12 06:12 PM

I don't see the drama here. This bloke likes is electric car and tells about it. His life. I'll make a small Utube video to tell you why I love the 8 cylinder Ford Mustang that I'm going to buy this week. To each his own.
