Rand Paul in Reporter Controversy
Luke Rudkowski talks with Abby Martin of MediaRoots.org and RT about U.S. Senator Rand Paul's attempt to get her arrested and stripped of her press credentials for asking him tough questions in the Capitol building (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtO5INu-VY4). A week after our video with Abby Martin came out on YouTube, the RT office, where Abby works, got an ominous phone call from the Senate Media Relations Committee. The Committee was acting on behalf of Rand Paul and threatened both Abby and the entire RT news organization.
The threats included ambiguous "charges" for violating the rules of the Committee floor, Abby's possible arrest and the termination of her and the entire office's press credentials. After a month of meetings and deliberation, the Senate Media Relations office backed down and did not make good on any of their threats. – YouTube

What can you provide to verify this? Rand supporters are claiming it's made up.

Is there any video or audio documentation of the alleged threats? I feel Rand might be getting set up. I know people are mad because he "endorsed" Romney, and WeAreChange is probably a little disgruntled with him for ignoring Luke's questioning, but just because someone said that someone else did something doesn't mean they did it. I want to see a video. Since there was all the other presstitutes there and everyone knows how much they despise the Paul clan, why wouldn't they tape this?

Rand's responses to you guys was horrendous. But I know he's balancing a fine line. I would much rather you guys went after the long-time, incumbent senators instead of Rand Paul. I still think Rand Paul has the best voting record in the entire Senate.

Rand's got the best voting record in the Senate. He's the only one fighting for your liberties. No other republican, democrat, or independent in the Senate is doing what Rand is.

So, if we're going to give Rand Paul the benefit of the doubt, we will ask that he buffs up on his 'reporter relations' and learns to field the tough questions. So, instead of viewing you as interminably bias, he could learn to speak to the question and express himself even if it is to say, "well, I did meet them and decided it's better to join them to get their cooperation, or, you catch more flies with honey than vinegar."

Don't be intimidated. And write about this intimidation with all the bureau chiefs--in a book with the date on it, entitled "Intimidation of the Free Press by bureau chiefs in the Capital Building on [Date]". You need to hire people to pass this around until the lame stream press picks it up.
Looks like you really read this wrong to believe they wanted "your side of the story". This was blatant lying. They did not want to get your side of the story!! Did you really fall for that? It looks like they confronted you. They were interrogating you. They knew you did not "sneak" anyone in. Please know if there was a press event. Is this is a public building? Please know that there was no real question by them. It is correct that they were trying to scare you.
Write about the Free Press. Read your Constitution. Make sure kids and schools know stripping of press credentials should not even be entertained as a thing to happen to any sane person!!! Don't even defend it! Only Accuse it! Threatening to arrest or strip the entire office of credentials means that they need to have charges put up against them. Find a way. This intimidation is illegal.
If Rand Paul were smart, he would meet with you personally, take you to dinner and explain more about what he's about. Then you could write about it. As such, I am going to go through my email list from him and return some messages!!

Start reading up on your rights and the Constitution. Stop being intimidated. This needs to be ALL over major media. No matter what your line of questioning or your beliefs, the press should not be threatened for asking questions.
Talk about the Press. Yell about the Press. Talk about the wonderful freedoms and responsibilities of the Press. Educate people about Freedom of the Press. Write a book about Freedom of the Press. Make sure kids growing up know about Freedom of the Press! This is really a no-brainer.
In order to be a good politician and person, Rand Paul should have been able to answer questions about bilderberger or whatever hamburger he is asked about. OK. Now for my actual reaction to this article and video. . ."Holy S--t. And I was supporting this guy and have all his emails in my lineup, and... I gave money!"
