What Did Rand Paul Gain?
Mitt Romney has picked the youthful warmonger Paul Ryan to be his running mate.
From my point of view, this leaves the junior senator from Kentucky, Rand Paul, standing near the altar like a jilted bridesmaid. Not a very pretty picture.
And now what has Rand Paul got?
I'll tell you in four words at the end of this article.
No peeking.
First, the bigger picture ... So far Rand's gamble – endorsing Romney – doesn't seem to be paying off. And there may be a salutary lesson in this.
It is late in the day.
The power elite that wants to run the world is more ruthless than ever. Panicked by the Internet and the exposure of the globalist conspiracy, they have launched half a dozen wars and kicked off a worldwide economic depression.
If they cannot run the world, they seem to be saying, no one else shall have it either. Like children, they clutch the Earth's big blue ball to their collective chest.
Only they are not children. They control the world's central banks, the world's nuclear arsenal and are collectively worth trillions. And they are furious.
They don't like to be challenged, apparently, not fundamentally, as the Internet has done.
What we call the Internet Reformation has exposed their plans and shown quite clearly the length and breadth of the directed history they've practiced while snickering behind their long, gilded sleeve.
Rand Paul can promise to serve them. But it is, as I said, late in the game. Their arrogance is rising along with their fear. And thus, they treat their servants more carelessly than ever. They are discarding the useless ones feverishly.
They are preparing to jettison a whole shelf-load of bankers, for instance – accusing them of corruption in order to pass more laws that will further tighten their grip over the world's financial commerce. These elites RUN government. When laws are passed, they inevitably benefit.
Their servants, former masters of the universe, are just now starting to understand what it means to work for Money Power ... and how quickly the dynastic families worth trillions will slough off mere billionaires if it suits their purposes.
Rand Paul is getting that treatment now. Perhaps he insufficiently understood their ruthlessness and desperation.
Did he really believe at this late date that he – a mere mortal – could horse-trade with the gods? Once they saw how angry he'd made his base with the Romney endorsement, they no doubt cast him aside.
Perhaps Rand Paul didn't know ... or doesn't understand. Their promises are worthless. He is less than human to them, a two-bit player in the carny act of regulatory democracy.
What does Rand have now?
There is the nebulous promise of speech-ifying at the GOP Convention, but no specifics announced yet.
And, really, at this point, who will be watching the convention?
Nobody much likes Mitt Romney that I can tell, even his supporters. They say things like, "I will gladly pull the lever for Mitt Romney to get rid of the socialist Obama."
They're not excited about Romney, you see ... just excited about ridding themselves of someone else.
"Savvy" observers counseled that Rand Paul had made his endorsement to "play the game" – with the idea that you have to show the powers-that-be that you are willing to accept the current reality before you are allowed to change it.
These observers speculated that Rand Paul was in the running for the vice presidential nomination. They also surmised that Rand Paul's endorsement might have won him a center-stage speech slot at the upcoming convention. Maybe even his dad might be given a slot as a result.
But so far, it doesn't look like it.
US News recently pointed out that Ron Paul "suffered a setback in his effort to have a major impact on the Republican National Convention" when the Republican National Committee declined to recognize a slate of Paul delegates from Louisiana.
Much thoughtfulness there, eh? Meanwhile, there is no news about Ron Paul addressing the convention. The leading constitutionalist politician of his era will not even speak at his "last hurrah."
And if Rand does, I doubt he'll get center stage. I doubt in the long run it will mean anything at all.
He can't bring the young people with him to vote for Romney because the young people have delved deep into the Internet and discovered the con. The wars are a con, the economy is a con ... even their future is a kind of con.
Are they supposed to vote for this media airbrushed personality, this second-rate financial thug whose supporters literally beat Ron Paul supporters like a collective drum in order to satisfy ... what? Rand Paul's measured, calculated massaging of the GOP ego?
It is late in the day for Ron Paul supporters as well. And there are tens of millions of them. They could have been Rand's.
And ironically, if he hadn't decided to be a little too smart, he could have "taken them with him." If he hadn't compromised, if he'd stood up to the pressure and the powers-that-be, he'd actually have come closer to achieving his goal.
What's clear is that Rand Paul DOESN'T control his father's base. One only needs to read the Internet to see that. If they perceived of him as they do his Daddy, then they WOULD be his.
And he would be stronger rather than weaker.
Because ALL they respect is strength. Rand Paul may have thought by portraying himself as a more reasonable man than his father, he'd ingratiate himself and receive cooperation and kudos. (And eventually more power.)
But ironically, he HAD the power ... millions, young and old, who were willing to donate for him, campaign for him, literally bleed for him.
All he had to do was say "no" to the established interests.
But he thought he was just a bit smarter than those around him. He apparently figured he'd play the game and keep his base, anyway. Instead, they're casting him off.
So again, I ask, what has he got?
A taste like ashes.

Romney and rand are to keep Ron Paul from campaigning against Obama. My thought is OBAMA WILL BE PPLACED back in office if we allow it. Question is. HOW DO WE STOP THIS FROM HAPPENING! Clearly voting does not work!

The Republican Party should be thrashed like a rented mule every four years until it excretes the neocon thugs. If it takes twenty years, so be it. It's the country's only hope ...

Spot on Anthony. One of your best article ever. Rand Paul could have had his father's base if he had not sold out to the GOP monster.
An article the DB ran about 6 months ago, harkens back: "As great as it may be for a father to have a son follow in his footsteps, there are times when a greater concern outweighs family goals. If Rand Paul truly understands the importance of his father's work, he will gladly support anything he does without personal concern... . But the greater question -- given the great promise Rand Paul has so far demonstrated -- is why would he even WANT to be a "future Republican leader" in a political party that was bringing the nation to ruin? With its profligate spending; empire-building ploys; debt-monetizing insanity, why would Rand Paul want to run the risk of becoming but a footnote in history by swimming counter to the currents of THE RON PAUL REVOLUTION?"
"... if Dr. Paul fails to use the power he has at this critical moment in history he will never have it again, nor will anyone else for a long time. The mainstream media is substantially bought and paid for by the entrenched parties. You can bet the Washington establishment and the K-street corporate fascists that have hijacked Congress, once the race is over, all will turn on Dr. Paul and make him as much of a non-person as the J.P. Morgan/Thomas Edison Establishment of the day turned on Nikola Tesla and literally erased him from the front page of TIME." -- Balance of article at Click to view link
The power elite suckered Rand Paul, and possibly Ron Paul, into thinking that they would give Rand a place at the table if only Dr. Paul did NOT run as a third party, whereby the above article explains why would have won. How about what he lost - he totally lost my respect when he showed his true colors. He turned traitor on his own father before the race was done. Not a man that can be trusted at all... I figured he'd endorse whoever the nominee was (if you can call it a nominee when they cheated and committed fraud the whole way) - but to jump ship and endorse Romney when we were winning? Judas indeed.

Rand Paul is indeed not his father... the colors he showed during the Gulf oil gusher showed him basically in the camp "to trust the super corporations" (mainly Shell which is owned mainly by one of the biggest generational robber baron banking families on earth) to handle the clean up... rather than our pip squeek (yes we can : give change : indeed short change on the dollar) government.
In a way it is so that the super oil corporations may well be the only organisation on earth with the technical know how to stop (not to mention start) such a catastrophe... and perhaps had he used the word "condem them" (rather than "trust them") to fix it and suggest a million dollar an hour fine as long as it is not fixed... I'd have much more respect for young Rand Paul...
The long and short of this dilemma can be traced back to the infamous (never taught in schools) statement by the great grand daddy of Shell's present owners... "Give me control of a nation's money and I care not who makes it's laws."
These same people along with various others, royal families, etc have control over many nation's money thus are above the law and the real thing they do not care about is 'you and me' except if we are owned and controlled servants to them... and even then we can be replaced... easily.
The slight of Rand Paul no less is also because the powers that be could live with a puppet like Mitt Romney, but the Puppet B.O. is doing such a wonderful job keeping the USA in debt expansion... which is to say, out spending even the all time big spender G.W.Bush... why bother putting someone who could attract votes... and besides... when the country falls into it's self like the world trade center did (via dollar defalut)... they can even blame a black man (the one they've got now shining their shoes : hasn't lifted a finger for the black man like JFK did)... which of course makes things that more colorful (and hey, maybe B.O. is not even american : thus quite humorous to cynical the internationalists who own us all via their money machine)...
Indeed, B.O. puts a happy face on the whole erosion process to bring america to it's knees so that it will beg for a one world bankster gangster government called OWN backwards. Hail OWN/NWO!
Conspiracy? What conspiracy?! Those above the law brag about it openly... a good example are quotes by David Rockefeller (easy to find)... so indeed we are not up against "a conspiracy" because a conspiracy requires laws to be broken : these guys have the laws written for them... it is business as usual with a marked deck of cards delt by the only guy who is armed... that is what "business as usual" is all about above the line of where the public ends and the real owners of our societies begin.
So again, the way to fight this is for people to start to ban most the stuff we are told by magazines and tv to be cool... fast fun & easy food made in the shade by your friendly big corporations... is it food? Avoid banks... don't keep you money in them... indeed, don't keep money at all... transform it into something of value, land, anything real... Right up to money... why not barter? And income tax? Find a law that really requires people to pay income tax! It does not exist as it is against the constitution and was only started after the Fed came into existence. Will the USA fall apart if we stop paying income tax? Well it may anyway... but I doubt this would be a cause... it all goes to the Fed anyway... not to the country.
Last of all... Ron Paul... well, frankly I have always thought there was something not exactly right about big Ron... yet like everything he says... I fear, for example, that the super duper rich have huge hoards of gold... so if the USA went gold standard... well, it would be like shutting the front door of the Fed while leaving the back door wide open for the money elite to escape with all they have stolen over the generations... cause scarcity, thus leave the robber barons in full control over the general snafu... they'd then likley start new banks...
But let that all that slide for numbers of things that do make sense and issues Ron has brought to light; he is still the only real candidate out there at this time! This brings me to wonder : Was he set up to tell certain truths, offer liberty to the public... while letting the 'business as usual' money gangsters upstage him by inserting their puppets as a sort of show to tell us "You didn't vote for your libertarian so don't expect freedom suckers!"?
So why not over ride Ron Paul's own sticky stubborn attachment to the republican party and start a movement to write him in as Libertarian... the worse that could happen is what is planned to happen anyway... B.O. will stay on... and screw US up the A... for his masters... who will indeed socialise thus control every aspect of our lives, health, food, mind, body, water, air, etc...
WRITE IN Ron Paul / WRITE OUT BO & MR :
the Left Right march to eternal debt sponsored by the Fed's (via their numerous mega corporations) two financed puppet parties.
In that case Rand could up one on the Bush family and openly run as vice... under his old man he might even improve his act a bit... Cheers!

It was SMART for him to gain the exposure through his speech to many who would not have had a chance to hear him or DIFFERENT values espoused. He was intelligent. He tried to "school" the Republicans who, themselves, think they hold the bastion on freedom, not knowing how repressed and compressed they really are. He took them statement by statement deeper and deeper to explore this thing they call Freedom.
This was in stark contrast to Romney speaking about missed military effort in victimized countries. Maybe Libertarianism misses the boat a bit here as some people in the world must be defended. However, I was happy Rand Paul spoke to the people because Republicans must learn that they are being played by the military machine and cannot afford to be stupid nor ignorant regarding their rights and freedom in the face of their own self-congratulatory focus on their own achievements. And YES, they built it.
