Dr. Mercola: Swine Flu Was Oversold

By Staff Report
10

While many so-called scientific experts have criticized me and others who have spoken out about the fear-mongering and senseless mass-vaccination campaign surrounding the swine flu, more of the scientific community is now coming to the same conclusions we've been talking about for months. The swine flu pandemic was a pandemic that never materialized, just exactly as I predicted. Now it looks as though the H1N1 scare of 2009 will go down as one of the biggest government and pharmaceutical scams ever, renewing a healthy, and necessary, skepticism about government fear-mongering, the swine flu vaccine and the dubious dealings behind the implementation of worldwide mass-vaccination programs. It started last month when British and French media began saying the H1N1 pandemic has been "hyped" by medical researchers to further their own cause, boost research grants and line the pockets of drug companies. Ontario health officials have also declared H1N1 a "dud" pandemic, stating the huge government investment made so far may have been unjustified. And now, a new study by researchers at Harvard University and the Medical Research Council Biostatistics Unit in the U.K. is finding that this "pandemic" was never a cause for alarm. After analyzing H1N1 deaths in the United States in the spring, then projecting outcomes for this past fall, they found the flu season should have been no different than a typical flu season -- and possibly even milder than average!. – Dr. Mercola

Dominant Social Theme: Just a gliche ...

Free-Market Analysis: We have promised our readers not to keep score when it comes to the collapsing memes of the power elite because life is not simple and these are very big promotions. Also, in many cases it is not clear what constitutes a promotional setback. If one believes for instance that the war on terror is to some degree a promotion, then what exactly diminishes the promotion – an attack that may or may not be genuine, an arrest that may or may not be warranted, information that may or may not be credible, etc. Difficult to say.

But many dominant social themes DO seem somewhat troubled right now from our point of view – and of course whatever collateral damage has been received, we'd be happy if the Internet (a modern Gutenberg press) took credit for it. Global warming took a beating as a result of an Internet hacking of damning emails and data. Central banking itself – the lynchpin of power elite promotions – has never been more threatened or less credible than today, again a state of affairs to which we attribute information on the Internet. And now there is swine flu, the great dreaded bugaboo that was supposed to establish once again the efficiency and necessity of mass-scale vaccine programs brought to you by your friendly Big Pharma dealer.

Only somewhere along the line this promotion too went off the rails. Actually we do know when it happened. Way back in the middle 2000s the whole autism controversy kicked up. The idea that tots who were given vaccine cocktails that stressed their little systems ended up with autism became a popular concept among parents dealing with autistic kids. There were apocryphal stories of children having vaccines during the day and developing autism by evening.

At its peak, and right in the middle of the controversy, Big Pharma went and got itself a litigation exemption from Congress. That REALLY started the ball rolling. Big Pharma looked like it had something to hide, and the industry has never recovered. Even today, the Internet is thick with vaccine horror stories and a half-century of vaccine-promotion has swirled down the drain.

Vaccines remain enormously lucrative for Big Pharma. In a sense, vaccines are to the health care industry what other staples are to other industries. And that just how the power elite rolls. Control the staples – food, water, oil, etc., and set up false scarcities through promotions. Then those who control the solutions have the opportunity to hike prices and to ration the suddenly "precious" commodity.

These elaborate promotions can take decades to set up, in our opinion. One can see for instance, in the bottled water craze, the metaphorical establishment of water as a scarce substance worth paying an inordinate sum for. One can also see a spate of books coming forth about hitherto non-existent water shortages. These books are being advertised at Bloomberg.com and other credible sites. (Just wait.)

The vaccine promotion, too, has been long in the making. And that is why to pronounce that it is dead as a promotion would be both foolish and foolhardy. But the chances are that the great dream of Big Pharma – to make designer vaccines for every kind of ill including cancer – and then ram them down the throat of the body politic via regulatory authority is dying an agonizing death. Or at least the fruition of this dream has been put off.

How do we know? The pushback to swine flu tells us some of the story. Mainstream western publications were filled with dire predictions about swine flu, whereas the Internet – the alternative press – was far more skeptical. And as usual these days when it comes to these memes, the alternative free-market thinking press seems to have better reflected the temper of the times. Here's some more about swine flu from Dr. Mercola:

So now they are stating that supplies of H1N1 vaccine are increasing and many places have opened up vaccination to anyone who wants it. Fortunately, many do not. But the U.S. federal government has contracts to purchase 250 million doses of swine flu vaccine, which may explain why the Los Angeles Times recently reported that: "Health officials' biggest fear now is that, with the perception that the pandemic is waning, many people will decide they don't need the vaccine."

That the swine flu is "waning" is not a perception, it's a fact, but Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius is not giving up on selling those shots, either. She stated in a news conference: "We have a wonderful window of opportunity to prevent or lessen a third wave."

A third wave? Excuse me, but we're still waiting for the first and second to show up! So it appears the WHO and governments around the world are going to keep pushing their H1N1 vaccines through the winter and into spring, even though swine flu cases are dwindling and are nowhere near what you would call a true, dangerous pandemic. ...

So I have just one further sentiment I'd like to say to the media and health officials in the United States who are still trying to perpetuate the swine flu myth: ... It's time to let it go now -- the jig is up.

Coming on the heels of the autism fiasco, which still bubbles beneath the surface, we wonder how Big Pharma will regroup. The Holy Grail still beckons of course, the idea of producing vaccines and then mandating their use under the color of public health necessity. But in the era of the Internet this seems to be an increasingly questionable strategy.

Conclusion: Most of the promotional strategies of the power elite were developed and refined pre-Internet. The idea of information sharing at a level of detail is anathema to power elite promotions, which tend to be blunt-headed tools. As we have pointed out, one of the tell-tale signs of a power elite promotion is the tendency of the dominant social theme to continue no matter what the evidence says. This kind of technique was very successful in the 20th century when the power elite owned or controlled most of the elements of mass communication – and could simply ignore the negativity. Today, it looks nuts. They don't know what else to do?

Thanks for sharing information from the Mercola site (one of the most popular alternative sites on the net) with your readers.

Dr. Mercola has been a strong voice calling for closer scrutiny of the vaccine-pushers. The very fact of his popularity allows him the latitude to present out-of the-box perspectives that are making a major dent in the bottom lines of purveyors of what we term orthodox/mainstream/conventional medical practice.

I myself am skeptical of those who are quick to label anything outside the allopathic paradigm as scurrilous. Today's mainstream medicine pedals drugs selling for unbelievable price markups that dwarf what the worst vitamin shysters are doing on the net, and with 'side effects that include death.

The major food and drug corporations now operate in cabals that have been successful in establishing monopolistic hegemony a mechanistic poke/cut/radiate/drug/poison paradigm that will surely be viewed in future years as unbelievably primitive and even barbaric.

Allopathic approaches invariably work against the body to accomplish disease care objectives. Hippocrates himself, the esteemed 'father of medicine, saw the body as its own greatest healer. How has perspective been allowed to be turned on its head by those who take his oath?

Is there any doubt that Mercola and others like him are reviled by the mainstream, to such a degree that even readers of this forum for out-of-the-box thinkers deem to label him as a quack? If one is skeptical of Dr. Mercola, try Dr. Russell Blaylock, a board-certified neurosurgeon and recognized leading expert in excitotoxins and the human nervous system.

His viewpoints on the subject of vaccines are very similar to Mercola. An even more strident voice in this regard is Mike Adams of Click to view link. These individuals are contributing to a rising tide of informed consumers who question the standard hype about the effectiveness of the ever-expanding lines of vaccine products and who prefer to put their primary trust in practitioners who acknowledge the body's innate ability to heal itself.

Thanks for the insights and informed perspective.

There are outstanding generous practitioners in both mainstream and alternative healthcare. I actually make far more use of the alternatives. But it pays us to be just as skeptical of this field as we are of financial and other fields. In a couple of hours on the net, I found hundreds of ordinary people who are very skeptical of Mercola and his methods.

I also thoroughly checked out his offerings, his claims, and his prices. Believe me this one time, if you need cancer care and don't want mainsteam treatment (and I don't either), check out Dr. Nicholas Rodriguez who practices in NY City. Or someone of his character and compassion who is in it for something besides personal monetary gain.

Be very cautious of people like Mercola who catch a free ride on the coattails of upstanding leaders like Ron Paul and make use of the fears of those who are, perhaps, somewhat overly-suspicious of authority figures in the mainstream but willing to accept the grossly-inflated claims of a Mercola, a "natural practitioner." Everything is "natural," including Rabies, Anthrax, Polio, Rift Valley Fever, and Cancer.

Dr. Mercola has been around for years, and as the largest and most prominent practitioner of his type - and also the most outspoken - it is not surprising he has his detractors. Certainly, we would agree that skepticism is warranted in any health care matter, and that goes for products and services that he himself offers. But we think he does a service by pointing out in no uncertain terms the problems with the Western barber/surgical approach to medicine, aided and abetted by the indiscriminate use of powerful pharmaceutical drugs that so many times have horrible side-effects.

I've taken the time to do a bit of research on Dr. Joseph Mercola, O.D., a family practitioner who now sells a huge number of newsletters and overpriced products to a growing clientele who are attracted to his claims that, among other miracles, Mercola can "prevent future cancers" with his Chlorella XP vitamin product.

Shysters like Dr. Mercola, and the Internet is rife with his type, prey on the hopes of people to be healthy and avoid devastating disease. This man, who is becoming rich by promoting ordinary products at a huge price increase, is not a virologist, is not an expert at anything except ordinary family practice, which obviously did not pay enough to satisfy this "Entrepreneur Doctor", as he calls himself.

If you are going to fall for over-hyped claims that promise a cure for cancer and other horrific diseases by taking vitamin products (or Mercola's Virgin Coconut Oil to prevent heart disease), then you will pay big bucke for nothing.

There is nothing wrong with taking a careful selection of vitamins, at ordinary prices, along with an extensive exercise and dietary program in the hopes of avoiding disease. But Quacks like Dr. Mercola need to be exposed for what they are, people who are trying to become members of your wealthy "power elite" club.

Bonnie, the field of cancer research is most controversial, and there are plenty of folks in the alternative medicine movement who believe the current field of "mainstream" medicine is full of "shysters." Dr. Mercola is very well known and respected in alternative medicine, and while you may find his views controversial, we're glad he's giving people an alternative perspective. We've never heard anyone call him shyster before and are sorry you feel that way.

I suspected this Swine Flu scare was a scam from the start. just like the Avian Flu scare a couple years ago. The company I work for, has sent me boxes of stuff to protect me and my co-worker from these killer viruses. What a waste of money.

Often vaccines are very profitable for Big Pharma.

"Not quite sure of your conclusion, but we agree Satori is an interesting book."

I'm thinking that the Power Elite as defined in the Daily Bell don't exist.

"individuals who seek to expand their wealth by applying and promoting dominant social themes. Such themes may eventually develop into widely held archetypes or memes.Often such themes seem to originate with the United Nations, World Bank, World Trade Organization, World Health Organization or other international bodies that are receptive to influence by the power elite"

The Power Elite are possibly a concoction of the bureaucracies to throw the scent off themselves and "such themes seem to originate with the United Nations...." because they actually do. The bureaucracies have the most wonderful jobs. How many of them turned up to party in Copenhagen?

Wouldn't you want to keep the CO2 global warming scam going when it keeps you and all your fellow world wide bureaucrats securely employed in well paying jobs? Its obvious from Duesberg book that the main point of the Aids virus is to keep lots of otherwise unemployables employed. Duesberg was expelled from the Bacchus feast because he refused their wine.

We blame governments for the size of their bureaucracies but it is governments that are probably the ones under control.

Reply from The Daily Bell

You have the idea that the UN bureaucracies have concocted the idea of a power elite? Sorry, we don't agree. We know which one came first.

I have been an R.N. since 1965 and visited many institutions for children and adults with Autism, Down's, mental retardation, and hosts of other disorders, many of which could not then be treated in any way.

Many of these people were kept secluded at home and cared for/ protected in extended families. None of these kids were counted in any government studies. Now many of these kids are kept at home and helped by special educational facilities that were not available years ago.

My husband is a research veterinary microbiologist and knows more about viruses than 99.999% of people.

That said, we both hope that pandemics will not appear in this ongoing Depression. But it will behoove you to realize that pandemics tend to occur in major economic downtimes. And when they are truly pandemics, it will be obvious and the vast majority of people, including us, will be clamoring for vaccines because people will be ill and dying all around us and hospitals will be overwhelmed.

Those of us old enough to recall getting polio vaccine inoculations were amazed by how grateful our parents were. There are still old people limping around who had milder cases of polio. As a young nurse I saw people in artificial lung machines. I very nearly died of whooping cough. So I am not as skeptical of vaccines and also realize that vaccine technology has vastly improved over the years.

If people are concerned about preservatives in the killed virus vaccines, they can opt for the nasal form which is a modified live virus and, therefore, cannot contain a preservative (which would kill the virus content and render it worthless). We opted to forego the H1N1 vaccine because of our ages but, if I'd had children to worry about, they would have received the nasal vaccine.

In Germany the head of their health department Dr. Wolfgang Wodarg warned that Novartis is making the vaccines with live cancer cells. Could it be that the real pandemic is cooking right now in the people who rushed to get the vaccine? Maybe the long range plans of the elite don't include us at all.

Didn't hear about this one.

I've just read Adrian Krieg's 'The Satori and the new Mandarins'. His research is interesting regarding the activities of the Mandarins and their objective to create a one world bee hive bureaucracy where they can all buzz around inside directing and controlling everyone's lives so as to get the maximum amount of work out of each one of us that will primarily benefit the reclusive Power Elites.

The Satori elites are loosely identified as being basically the rich banking families of the world and possibly some of their super rich customers.

I have great trouble believing that some of these highly educated families would believe in a new world order functioning through what is a really a Marxist Socialist system.

I find it incredible that these elites do not recognise that Socialism does not make them maximum profits but actually maximum loses. Are they all so stupid I wondered? Looking at some of the worlds richest families such as the Gates and Mars family the Koch and Walton's families who between them employ possibly over 5 million Americans I found it hard to understand how these super rich clever people could be keen on losing their fortunes.

I see that Bill is frustrated because he can't get his money to develop an Aids vaccine and he'll never find the answer until he reads 'Inventing the Aids Virus' by Peter Duesberg. Charles Koch built the Cato and Bill of Rights Institutes and other foundations to try and teach Americans how Marxism is destroying their lives and has been since the Fed was established. Doesn't sound like a Marxist conspiracy to me.

Even the Walton's and their dislike for employee health insurance shows insight. Nothing increases health cost more than insurance. Get insurance out of health care and it will become affordable to everyone by breaking the nexus between the tort lawyers and the insurance companies, the two largest parasitical groups ever. Insurance is gambling. The world's largest industry is gambling.

All the world economies are built around the insurance industry, the largest industry ever. How on earth could an world economy survive with its largest players being gambling junkies that spend their time working out how to pass risk onto some one else. Risk can not be avoided for ever. Eventually it all comes home to roost. The immanent collapse of the derivatives market should show up that axiom.

I got the impression from Krieg's book that the conspirators are anti Christian. I can understand them being anti religion but not anti God. What thinking person could ever believe that they could possibly know the answer to that question? An Elite? But what about the Jewish bankers? Don't they control much of the world's financing? Maybe they do but they probably just work within whatever system is on hand. They must realize their profits are going to go down under this so called New World Order as will everybody's?

Up until recently the wealthiest families have always ruled, that's the natural order of things. Being scared of the unwealthy Power Elites in the bureaucracies is reasonable. They are the Marxist and their biggest enemies are the wealthy business people. Have all of us so called Libertarians been caught in a double sting? The instigators of the Hegelian Dialectic is actually the bureaucracies of the Socialist governments and the so called Power Elites are not very powerful at all? Are we all barking up the wrong tree?

Not quite sure of your conclusion, but we agree Satori is an interesting book.

What idiot would take an injection laced with thimerosol and other toxic products, when the makers of the product have been absolved of any liability for harmful effects by Congress? I'd like to know how many Congressmen got themselves and their children vaccinated....of course, that's no real test, as Congress does not hold any records for attracting brilliant thinkers.

It all seems a bit ... speculative ...

My wife used to wrk for the national society for autistic children back in the 1970's at that time it was rare. I saw a billboard the other day that says evey so second a child is diagnosed with autism. A local news channel did a story about the swine flu and they say now it may not hit till later this year. It is really becoming laffable. It could be the that elite have inbred too much confidance into their gene pool.

It seems sad, actually.
