Part II – Paul Supporters: Why Our Political Future Is In the GOP

By Ron Holland

Ron Holland

(Please note: Link to Part I of this editorial is below.)

So What is the Future for Liberty in Our Closed Political Monopoly?

Let's take over the GOP from the inside rather than fight them in a rigged election process where third-party candidates are hidden by a news blackout enforced by both parties and the main street news media. For example, how many times have the national LP candidates been in a debate with the candidates of the GOP or Democrats? Contrast this with Paul's repeated debate inclusion during the 2012 primary season.

Americans historically do not vote for third-party presidential candidates in the general election. At the end of this election will we be remembered and feared as a 15% voting block that is taking over the GOP one county at a time from the good ol' boy establishment or do we fall for the third-party attraction and receive a meaningless one time few percent of the national vote in November?

Our one chance for ultimate victory is to take advantage of the GOP party rules used for years to rally conservative and free-market voters at election time. Of course, they then dismiss us after election day until the next siren call for voters to support a GOP with less government rhetoric but, in fact, almost a mirror image of the socialist Democrats. Like the unions and liberal voting blocks of the Democrats, we are considered little more than voting cannon fodder to be used at election time.

In my opinion, a rush to the Libertarian Party or another third party if Ron Paul doesn't win the GOP presidential nomination is a big mistake that could dramatically weaken the power and cripple the future viability of his liberty movement. I personally will not even consider voting for Romney unless he picks Ron or Rand Paul as his VP candidate, and if it is Rand, Ron is offered a top cabinet position as Secretary of the Treasury etc.

Note, I'm certainly not urging Paul supporters to support a Romney/Paul ticket; rather, I'm keeping my options open in order to provide the maximum leverage to Paul forces at the convention by categorically stating, "No Paul = No Vote For the Republican Ticket in November."

Second, no meaningless gestures like a prime convention-speaking slot or influence over the party platform will buy my support. I suggest you do the same until after the GOP convention, and then let your conscience be your guide.

Both Political Party Leaderships are Controlled by Special Interests

If the young Paul supporters continue to participate in the GOP, then the establishment will be powerless to stop our eventual takeover at the county, state and potentially the national level as the older propagandized, sheep-like voters die off. The Internet reformation has meant that the old "lesser of two evils" strategy used by both political parties to motivate voting blocks is, thankfully, dying.

Today, with alternative news sites and free-market alternatives open for discovery, anyone willing to search the Net will quickly realize the "lesser of two evils" meme is just propaganda. Both parties, regardless of propaganda and rhetoric at election time, have similar agendas and governance plans based on powerful special interests. Neither represents the people, only special interests.

How ironic that my generation, which had some faith and allegiance to the party leadership and yet believed in our constitutional and free-market principles, stood by and did nothing to halt the growth of government and loss of our liberties at the hands of the GOP elites when they knew better. In every election they blindly cheered the election-year rhetoric, voted as they were told and then were somehow surprised after each election that despite the same old campaign promises their candidates were little different from the Democrats. Government and foreign neocon-style military actions increased while our personal and financial freedoms were decimated as surely by the GOP as the Democrats.

Remember both Alan Greenspan, the architect of the boom and 2008 meltdown, and Ben Bernanke, whose policies prolonged and deepened the recession/depression, were appointed Chairman of the Federal Reserve by GOP presidents. Nixon gave us the Nixon Shock in 1971, unilaterally cancelling the direct convertibility of the US dollar to gold. George H.W. Bush pledged "no new taxes" in his 1988 campaign and then raised taxes and spending, and his son, George W., started two major wars that continue even today.

A Wing and a Prayer

Our goal should be to build a permanent, expanding Paulian or liberty wing of the Republican Party over the next four years. I don't believe we have a prayer of impacting policies or relevance in the political process if we go down the road of good intentions but unintended negative consequences of third-party political action.

We should remain active in the GOP and work to gain majority control over local precincts and county organizations and play by the rules, unlike many of the present party hacks and leaders. Second, we should run for office and support candidates, especially at the legislature level, that share our views. Third, run or support candidates running for Congress over the next four years who will advance our freedom-oriented objectives concerning the Federal Reserve, rolling back the police state, sound money and an intelligent foreign policy.

Romney has the Nomination but Will Lose in November Unless...

The controlled and manipulated GOP nomination process is over except for the coronation convention and media circus. Its all fake, just like the "Hunger Games" extravaganza, and Mitt Romney will be the GOP presidential candidate but his victory march may well end where it begins, in Tampa.

First, in November he'll automatically get the GOP moderates and the usual "status quo" Republican country-club types who have no philosophy but just want to be on the winning team for contracts, graft and power. He will get endorsements and votes from social conservative supporters of Gingrich and Santorum and the earlier presidential candidates. But he will likely lose two key constituencies required for him to win against Obama and the Democratic machine: Ron Paul supporters and conservative evangelicals.

The GOP political establishment holds the view that even supporters of Ron Paul will in the end vote Republican for Romney because his rhetoric is more free-market and capitalist than Obama. Well, maybe ... but we only have to look at the failed George Bush regime to see how little that really means when we consider two failed wars, the market and real estate crash, the falling dollar and the bank and Wall Street bailouts. I suggest that very few of us Ron Paul supporters will vote for Romney because we agree with Justin Raimondo – the GOP establishment needs to be taught a lesson.

They do need to be taught a lesson but if we leave the GOP and go the third-party route and Romney and the Republican candidates lose, then we will forgo any chance to take over the GOP or for longer-term political action within the party, thus wasting much of our internal organizational success to date. This will validate the GOP leadership smear that we aren't real Republicans and the growing power of freedom forces inside the party will be eliminated.

Will Ron Paulers Vote for Romney?

A young woman made the best case I've seen or read for Ron Paul supporters on Facebook several days ago. Quoting her from the YouTube video below made me realize how much the Ron Paul Campaign has accomplished so far in this election cycle. I urge you to watch and listen to her reply to a neocon friend who suggested, "A vote not cast for Romney is a vote for Obama." Therefore we should vote for Romney.

I urge you to watch her and listen to her passionate words on YouTube (click on the photo below to play):

But her statement is almost as powerful in text form quoted below:

We are not afraid to lose if losing means our integrity and principles remain with us. Our numbers have tripled in this election and we have already won. We have spread the message of individual liberty far and wide. Ron Paul has inspired the liberty movement in Africa, in Europe, even in Korea. Only a third of American colonists believed that the Revolutionary War was necessary and they changed the course of history forever.

It is our turn now to do the same. An election outcome will not change that. We are willing to lay down our lives for the cause of liberty if it is required of us and it may be. I welcome losing if the winning team is not supporting the principles this country was founded on.

But I will not go as a lamb to the slaughter and vote for someone who my heart, my gut and my reason tell me are not right for this country. Like Patrick Henry said, "I know not what course others will take but as for me, give me liberty or give me death."

This young women speaks for millions of us who will not vote for Mitt Romney in 2012 unless he unilaterally guarantees us he will advance our freedom agenda. He can do this by naming Rand Paul as his VP running mate and promising a Ron Paul cabinet appointment, followed by campaign pledges for real action on the Fed audit and requiring a declaration of war for future foreign military actions.

We live in a one-party state and we have a chance to take over and redirect the GOP in coming years. Otherwise, all the work Ron Paul and his freedom supporters have done will be lost in a third-party effort. That may provide us satisfaction, and this is what the GOP elites need, but it is a very shortsighted view of how we may still save these United States and the patriot dreams of our founding fathers.

I prefer watching the upcoming "Hunger Games" movies as pure entertainment instead of what will be a sad dystopian future for the United States. I hope we all hang together and keep our powder dry until after the GOP convention, and wait for Ron Paul to address us, hopefully after Romney has responded favorably to the requirements of the Ron Paul Campaign and us his supporters. Then each of us can make our own election year choices.

Conclusion

Mitt, we know you want very much to be President of the United States. I believe you will need to name an evangelical or mainline Christian as your running mate to have a chance to win a sizeable enough evangelical vote majority to have a chance to win the November election.

While the prejudice against Mormons is unfortunate it does exist, due in part to some strange (to non-members) LDS Church beliefs and practices combined with a lifetime of mostly negative evangelical preaching against the Church. This prejudice will negatively impact your votes, especially in the South, during the November election.

Second, you will also need the 10 to 15 percent of the electorate who consider themselves Ron Paul supporters and we will likely stay at home unless you nominate a Ron Paul free-market thinker to the ticket. The standard conservative neocons like Gingrich, Santorum and other former candidates in the primary will not meet our litmus test. Your first choice should be Ron or Rand Paul but others could include Tom Woods, Judge Napolitano and maybe a few others.

This is your decision to make but you will be defeated if you do not bring both Ron Paul supporters and conservative Christians into your campaign and address our major concerns. Speaking as a Ron Paul supporter, my first editorial after the election, should you not follow this friendly advice and you lose, will be titled, "Mitt, We Told You So."

I am waiting for a well reasoned article by Mr. Holland on why drinking Coke is superior to water when engaged in a head to head battle with Pepsi because Coke has more sugar than Pepsi while water has none and we all need sugar.

Oh wait, I just did.

Posted by Bluebird on 04/12/12 08:47 AM

Mr. Holland, thank you, thank you, thank you!! This was absolutely excellent. I hope people listen to this well reasoned advice. I do not have a natural gift of expressing my thoughts, but you did it perfectly. This put me on shouting ground. :-) Bless you.

The Ruling Zionist Banking Mafia (RZBM) owns the both major US political parties as well as the mass media.

Only RZBM rigorously screens and approves candidates who are moving to the finals of the con-show called the US elections. The moment any of the leading candidates deviate from "the party line", they are history. Consequently, Romney knows it and will play by the rules. This is the only chance for him to be in the big game.

As for changing GOP from inside, the owners will not allow it. It is their Parties. It is their game with their rules.

Ron Holland is correct: if one likes to play the present political game then one MUST join the party. Keep the corrupt con-show going. After all, in my opinion, Ron Holland is paid to keep show going!

PS
The only reason Ron Paul had an opportunity to participate in this year GOP show was "the Tea Party" phenomenon. A revolution is the only event RZBM are trying to prevent at any cost.

There is no way to reform/rebuild a corrupt and rotten house from inside. America and EU for this matter had crossed the Rubicon. There is an urgent need to build the future starting from a new healthy foundation.

The Ruling Zionist Banking Mafia

What is a Zionist? It is a Jew who wants a country ...

So ... you mean Jews who want a country (and now have one) control all banking?

Does this mean the plumbers too? How about the Jewish electricians?

Are you sure it's not a CRIME FAMILY you're referring to?

Whenever the dog barks too loud or becomes a pest during dinner, just throw him a bone and he will be quiet.

The prospects of a third party winning are slim to none. But I would estimate that the prospect of taking over the Republican party is even less. And why would you want to take over an organization that is rotten to the core?
The third party route gives us: "We are not afraid to lose if losing means our integrity and principles remain with us."

I thought the Republican party started out as a third party back in the 1850's, competing with the Whigs and the Democrats?

Actually, while political control games are being played in the foreground, and most quibble over restricted by arbitrary power false CHOICES, "consent of the governed", in particular, "of the productive" has been LOST, independent of whether "consent" is interpreted as "willing, fully informed", "duped", or "terrified".

It is in the background (the unseen) where all of the ACTION, leading to CONSEQUENCES is happening. In general, current events, and, the actions of those holding the whip are not in the interests of the serfs. So, either by CHOOSING "entitlements", or ceasing or reducing productivity since "no point", the prey has shrugged.

The grim reaper of "Mathematics of Rule" (reality) has, is and will continue to do the rest:

... which, as they say "is history"

So just what do YOU propose? Do we just lay down, roll over and beg for a bone? At least give a better idea when you knock what is put out or you might be considered just another troll.

Posted by rossbcan on 04/12/12 10:50 AM

In other words, the entire unproductive political, judicial, philosophical, military, media classes are having a fake "argument" over that which no longer exists, nor can ever exist for very long: "consent of the serfs".

Really, is is reasonable to think that the unproductive can EVER be productive, even in pursuing what they desire most: irresponsibility, "something for nothing" (a free lunch) which must come at the expense of their moral and intellectual superiors and woe and misery for the majority?

Posted by earnst on 04/12/12 10:56 AM

I actually think this is possible. Look at St. Charles. The notion of taking over the GOP does seem to be a battle against money power whatever you want to call them. But truth really is incredibly powerful isn't it, and here we have an article on truth. The elite are moving quickly and if we can slow them down the net Should win our battle. And pat, pat; we're doing pretty well already. As ever thanks DB!

I am not "knocking" Mr Holland's articles. They are very thought provoking. And I am not smart enough to tell everyone what to do. If I were I would become a central planner. I also have mixed feelings about all this. For me personally, I would not support any presidential candidate other than Ron Paul. No Paul - no vote. My "throw the dog a bone" comment was my reaction to the idea of Ron Paul (or Rand Paul or Tom Woods... ) being on the ballot as a VP or in a cabinet position. I think that is equivalent of being sent to your room without supper. But enter my mixed emotions, this may be a good idea if doing so could lead to ending the Fed or ending even one of (how many?) the wars. Pessimistically, I don't see any of that happening unless Ron were president. Even then it would be tough. But Ron Holland has me thinking about this from more than just my limited perspective and I welcome his views.
How about this thought: Dr Paul can go to a third party and bring many young voters (possibly permanently). He can do more for the third party cause than anyone else. It could possibly be his greatest accomplishment, which is saying a lot, considering all he has done. Staying in the Republican party is like making a pact with the devil. Make the Republican party mad? Probably. But staying with the Republicans just means being ignored.

Are you sure it's not a CRIME FAMILY you're referring to?"

Who are the members of this Ruling Zionist Banking Mafia (RZBM)? Everybody knows who they are: Rothschild, Warburg, Schiff, etc. These Jewish families control the City and the Wall Street financial empires.

These families constitute a financial oligarchy; they are the power behind the Windsor throne. They view themselves as the heirs to the Venetian oligarchy, which infiltrated and subverted England from the period 1509- 1715, and established a new, more virulent, Anglo-Dutch-Swiss strain of the oligarchic system of imperial Babylon, Persia, Rome, and Byzantium.

"The trade of Venice was overwhelmingly concentrated in the hands of the Jews, the wealthiest of the mercantile class." (The History of the Jews in Venice, 1930)

The English Revolution (1649) was the first in a series of revolutions designed to give them world hegemony. The establishment of the Bank of England by William in 1694 was the next crucial step. Behind the facade, England has been a "Jewish" state for over 300 years.

The Jewish banking families made it a practice to marry their female offspring to spendthrift European aristocrats. In Jewish law, the mixed offspring of a Jewish mother is Jewish. (The male heirs marry Jews although Victor and Jacob Rothschild are exceptions.) For example, in 1878 Hannah Rothschild married Lord Rosebery, who later became Prime Minister. In 1922 Louis Mountbatten, the uncle of Prince Philip and cousin of the Queen married the granddaughter of Jewish banker Ernest Cassel, one of the wealthiest men in the world. Winston Churchill's mother, Jenny (Jacobson) Jerome, was Jewish. By the beginning of the 1900s, there were very few English aristocrat families left that hadn't intermarried with Jews. It was said that, when they visited the Continent, Europeans were surprised to see Jewish looking persons with English titles and accents.

The City of London dominates the world's speculative markets. A tightly interlocking group of corporations, involved in raw materials extraction, finance, insurance, transportation, and food production, controls the lion's share of the world market, and exerts virtual "choke point" control over world industry.

Now about Zionism
Edmond James de Rothschild (1845-1934) was a leading proponent of Zionism.

Zionism became so important to this Jewish banking Mafia. Well, the last 150 years have taught RZBM a very important lesson: you just cannot trust non-Jews. Just look what happened after they financed and brought to power Jewish Bolsheviks in Russia or Hitler in Germany. These Jewish oligarchy was about to lose not only their money but also their lives. Both Hitler and Stalin did not have a place for the Jewish World Banking Oligarchy. Therefore, the answer was/is simple: for world domination it is vital to have a Master Race.

Back in Germany, Hitler correctly recognized that he could not have world domination without having a 'Master race'. Ideology is not a good enough (just look how various communist countries have their own agendas, interests, etc.). Stalin came to the same conclusion in early 1950s.

To have a Master Race, it is absolutely vital to have a country where such master race will be appropriately created, organized, and indoctrinated. Mossad is not an Israeli intelligence service protecting interests of common Jews living in Israel but rather it is the tool/organization of RZBM to promote their interests and agendas though intimidation, murder, and other criminal activities without being 'legally and officially' associated with RZBM. CIA and MI6 just cannot do this kind of dirty jobs without massive employees' dissent. Members of these organizations can easily reverse their loyalty against their current employers when their multiracial and multi-cultural country national interests are prostituted. But Mossad is just perfect since it has no such 'shortcomings'.

PS
As for Jews who want a country, I would like to remind to the Daily Bell that in 1940s the Crimea (in the Soviet Union) was considered and negotiated between Stalin and Zionist leaders as the Jewish Homeland. During the WW II, Stalin agreed to the project but after the war he "changed his mind" agreeing to support creation of Israel in Palestine.

As for Jewish plumbers or electricians, they are just RZBM brainwashed foot soldiers. This is why the Holocaust is so important.

Finally, this message is long but it was necessary to expose propaganda, misrepresentations, and lies I came across reading many the Daily Bell articles.

Forget about Ron Paul's Chances of Being a Third Party Candidate via Americans Elect

Americans Elect Campus Director Nick Troiano, April 3:

Comcast News' Robert Traynham: I assume you want experience as well. Right?

Americans Elect Campus Director Nick Troiano: Sure, absolutely. And there are many people experienced in politics.

Traynham: Name one.

Troiano: I mean, we're looking at, look at Olympia Snowe, for example. She has served several terms in the Senate. Joe Lieberman. Jon Huntsman's a former governor. On both sides of the aisle we are seeing people...

Lady Lynn Forester de Rothschild, Americans Elect Director, February 9:

Lady Lynn Forester de Rothschild: Hillary Clinton believed in a strong America.

Neil Cavuto: Would you want her on your ticket?
de Rothschild: I would want her as President any day of the week!

"Let's take over the GOP from the inside rather than fight them in a rigged election process where third-party candidates are hidden by a news blackout enforced by both parties and the main street news media." - RH

I agree, we should try to take over the GOP, but what to do in this election if it's Romney v Obama? I will NOT vote for either one. I will either write in Ron Paul or vote for the best 3rd Party candidate who also is a small government, Constitutional-loving candidate. That will probably mean Constitution Party... although is a pro-life Libertarian Party candidate is nominated, I might go there also.

In the long run, I see the GOP getting transformed into a small government, Constitution-loving party or going the way of the Whigs. This nation does not need 2 major parties both for big government.

"They do need to be taught a lesson... "

In my view, the only lesson the Republicans will understand is going out of business. There is no way that the party can go against its controlling interests (i.e, the military industrial complex, the prison law enforcement complex, etc.).

Another strategy is for Paulians to not vote. This will probably cause Romney to lose in November. The Democrats, who will then likely be in power during the coming depression could also go out of business as a result. At that point, and only at that point, there may be be a chance for liberty to rise out of the ashes.

Posted by laceja on 04/12/12 12:48 PM

I agree with Mr. Holland, to a point. That is, I agree the best way (likely the only way) to fix things is to take control of the Republican party from inside. However, I would be totally shocked, if Romney would take a Paul as a running mate, regardless of how it might improve his election chances. However, I could certainly see him "offering" Ron or Rand Paul a cabinet position... Maybe even one as important as Treasury Secretary. However, offering (nominating) is one thing, getting it through the Senate is quite another.

Nevertheless, Mr. Holland is absolutely right, there is only one way to rout the PTB and that is from the inside out.

Posted by starboard on 04/12/12 02:07 PM

I respectfully disagree with the idea staying within either the GOP or the Democratic parties will enable any avoidance of the march to a totalitarian state. How many times will people have their values thrown under the bus the instant "their" candidate wins before they get the message that party membership is irrelevant? Remember all the people who were disillusioned with Bush's lack of funding for religious programs after he was elected? Remember all the people who were disillusioned by Obama's immediate nomination of financial insiders and his quick fade on the wire tap issue? Anybody who actually bases their vote on what these guys say to get elected matches Einstein's definition of insanity.

I think something that would have a far better chance of getting us out of the trap we're in is adopting some kind of run-off voter system. We need to eliminate the argument you can't vote for who you prefer because it would risk giving the election to the person you REALLY don't want. People need to be free to vote for their first choice without penalty. It may be virtually impossible to get our voting system changed - but creating change within one of the two parties seems even more so.

Posted by Bluebird on 04/12/12 02:19 PM

Thank you for this thoughtful reply, fred. It was very good. I am sure I could not declare what we should do. But most of us agree if something is not done in THIS election, it is all over but the crying. And it may already be too late.

I come from a Republican family. But I am ashamed of what we have in office. Everytime I walk by a TV (I don't watch them) and hear one of these "old women" in men's suits huffing and puffing and acting like we should not even dare question them, I want to throw a shoe at the TV.

As for a third party, Ron would have no more chance there. We can already see this being anticipated and the third party would be taken over by another dictator, with the media blocking Ron Paul. There is not time for years in the future-America will be gone. NOW is the time to be heard. Mr. Holland's idea is the best I have heard. I support it.

"I agree the best way (likely the only way) to fix things is to take control of the Republican Party from inside." WOW!

How do you intend to do it? After all, people are not sharing "the GOP Party ideas and rules" will be just prevented from attending & participating in the Party events. Their credentials will be denied and security officers will escort them out explaining to these fools & idiots that the next time they will be arrested. And yes, the media will either ignore these 'dissidents' and/or call them hooligans and domestic terrorists. Remember, all these Party events are just entertaining and the show must go on.

Oh yes, blacks in America did not gain anything by joining and transforming the major political Parties but rather by FIGHTING for their rights using civil disobedience and other 'unconventional' means. Slaves never gain their freedom by joining their masters' political Parties. They get their freedom by "other means"!

Posted by laceja on 04/12/12 06:25 PM

bob, I didn't say we shouldn't use civil disobedience. What I'm saying is, we need to work inside the GOP and, yes, sometimes (probably a lot, especially at first), be very "disobedient".

However, being disobedient outside the GOP will not help things. About all it's done for blacks is get them a lot of government handouts... basically, placating them into being "obedient" modern day slaves.

Uh Doctor,

Should I put a red or blue band-aid on the gangrenous maggotty roadkill specimen?

Sorry, but keywords are "horse, gate, open, bolted, already".

But to find the lasting fix - it will come from somewhere other than the usual clone-fast clown-fest holdings, despite Dr Paul's Libertarianisms.
