"Big Bang" Collider to Discover Universe Origins – Not!
The "Big Bang" experiment at CERN near Geneva scored a world record on Monday by accelerating beams to the highest energy ever achieved in a particle collider, the research center announced. Scientists at CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, said the achievement marked a major milestone on the way to tests next year which they hope will unlock secrets of the origins and make-up of the universe. The energy of the twin beams circulated around 27-km tunnels deep underground went, at 1.18 trillion electric volts (TeV), well past the previous highest -- just under 1 TeV -- in a collider at the U.S. Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. The achievement in the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) came 10 days after the world's largest scientific experiment was restarted following an accident soon after its launch in September 2008. "We are still coming to terms with just how smooth the LHC commissioning is going," said CERN Director General Rolf Heuer (pictured left) as the record was announced. "It is fantastic."- ABC News
Dominant Social Theme: Thank goodness for modern science.
Free-Market Analysis: We promised some perceptive Bell feedbackers a while back that we would write a story about "big science" and now seems as good a time as any since there is "news" about a "big bang" experiment at CERN. The news, this article lets us know, is that science is one step closer to solving the origins and make up of the Universe. Hoo boy!
Anyway ... here's our take for the few Daily Bell readers (apparently) who do not already know this stuff. Actually, this is an explanation, below, of the theory from electric-cosmos.org. We've picked it sort of at random since there are plenty of Internet sites now available on this subject (though there weren't nearly so many several years ago when we first became aware of this theory.) We hope it gets the point across. (If it doesn't, we're sure we'll hear about it; feedbackers are invited to suggest other sites as well, if they wish.)
There is a revolution just beginning in astronomy/cosmology that will rival the one set off by Copernicus and Galileo. This revolution is based on the growing realization that the cosmos is highly electrical in nature. It is becoming clear that 99% of the universe is made up not of "invisible matter", but rather, of matter in the plasma state. Electrodynamic forces in electric plasmas are much stronger than the gravitational force.
Mainstream astrophysicists are continually "surprised" by new data sent back by space probes and orbiting telescopes. That ought to be a clue that something is wrong. New information always sends theoretical astrophysicists "back to the drawing board". In light of this, it is curious that they have such "cock-sure" attitudes about the infallibility of their present models. Those models seem to require major "patching up" every time a new space probe sends back data.
Astrophysicists and astronomers do not study experimental plasma dynamics in graduate school. They rarely take any courses in electrodynamic field theory, and thus they try to explain every new discovery via gravity, magnetism, and fluid dynamics, which is all they understand. It is no wonder they cannot understand that 99% of all cosmic phenomena are due to plasma dynamics and not to gravity alone.
When confronted by observations that cast doubt on the validity of their theories, astrophysicists have circled their wagons and conjured up pseudo-scientific invisible entities such as neutron stars, weakly interacting massive particles, strange energy, and black holes. When confronted by solid evidence such as Halton Arp's photographs that contradict the Big Bang Theory, their response is to refuse him access to any major telescope in the U.S.
Instead of wasting time in a futile battle trying to convince entrenched mainstream astronomers to seriously investigate the Electric/Plasma Universe ideas, a growing band of plasma scientists and engineers are simply bypassing them. A new electric plasma-based paradigm that does not find new discoveries to be "enigmatic and puzzling", but rather to be predictable and consistent with an electrical point of view, is slowly but surely replacing the old paradigm wherein all electrical mechanisms are ignored.
Kind of interesting isn't it? Bet that's not being taught at Western universities even now – even for extra credit. Now, to be sure, we don't know whether CERN will ever discover the origins of the universe or not (we tend to think not). But our point is this, dear reader – that Big Physics (or Big Science) is big for a reason. It's likely a promotion, at least parts of it. The idea from our point of view is at least partially to intimidate people.
It has to do with control. If people with moderate IQs (and plenty of persistence) realized that they, too, could contribute to the body of knowledge that is the (increasingly less magnificent) Western Scientific Corpus, then you might have all sorts of untidy discoveries. In fact, any examination of the Internet or even Youtube.com will show incredible energy alternatives, fuel alternatives like water and even air – various discoveries that lack only the main ingredient to make their inventors rich and famous – they cannot be monetized by the powers-that-be.
No, the point of today's Big Science is that it only gets bigger and bigger. The average person is to be intimidated by the size and money put into these efforts. If it takes an accelerator the size of Manhattan to crack an invisible particle (at the cost of billions) then what chance does the average joe have of discovering anything in his puny lifetime?
Not only that, but by driving up the cost and complexity of science, the monetary elite attempts to gain significant control over many of the brightest and best, who will have nowhere else to go. A lot of good science may be prevented in this manner, and a lot of good scientists possibly silenced – or diverted into the backwaters of Big Pharma where they can work on a new headache pill (and take expensive junkets to the Amazon).
We could go on about this for a while, and we will return to it (and, yes, Nikola Tesla, etc. – the rewriting of 20th century scientific history being especially disgraceful in our humble opinion) at another time. Let us close by asserting that the West is hovering on a "dark age" scientifically from our point of view. Of course, we are hopeful because of the Internet - which is revealing real science in much the same way as it has revealed free-market economics.
Conclusion: Anyone who is an open-minded witness to the current Climategate scandal should take into consideration the possibility that the skewing of global warming data is not anomalous. There is a great deal of money in Big Science, and a great deal of corruption and, we believe, suppression of scientific discoveries, potential ones anyway. Controlled publications and the evil repression of good ideas is an inevitable outcome of allowing a power elite, empowered by fiat money, to try to control society for their own ends. Is it ever thus?

Please read the book: Unveiling Mysteries of the Universe to grasp the creative principles of the universe that takes in all forces including this wonderful electical "soup" in which manifestation occurs. It explains the various theories in common terms from many fields of study to understand quantum mechanics, string theory, big bang, etc. and how they apply in everyday life from philospohy to geometry and from religion to fairy tales.

Thanks for the recommendation.

This article has made a point about how public opinion is shaped by big science with big money. Makes me wonder how much real science is secretly held. Things that would diminish the need for centralized power over us. What is not "allowed" to be patented could be our biggest obstacle.

We think a lot of good science may be kept secret, or never reaches the marketplace. Just a hunch based on claims made on the Internet that may or may not be true.

I had no idea that the scientific community was so complicit in the elites plan, but it stands to reason. I myself use water, ie Hydrogen on demand, to help power my 1994 Ford Exploder. It went from about 15 MPG to 20, around town, and 25 MPG on the road. It burns all petrol 1005, leaving no carbon foot print! How it hurts to say carbon footprint. The fact is, that as a backyard mechanic, if I can get these kind of results, just think what the engineers at the big automakers could do. . . It is completely disheartening, and the internet opens my eyes everyday. Thanks for another great article, you guys are awesome, and a great example of what the internet should be all about- Fair and even minded exploration of everything. . .

This collider may be too small. I wonder if it will tell us what gravity is, or dark matter, or black holes, or the age of the universe. It certainly can't confirm the BIg Bang theory. The fathest galaxies now appear to be about 13 billion light years away, and they seem to be shaped just like the Milky way. How come? Is the red shift really correct in outer space between galaxies? What;s beyond the last galaxy? We have a long way to go.

Alternatively, will some genius simply conceive a better explanation under an apple tree? That's possible, too, in our opinion. And would cost a lot less.

Is it possible to identify some individual entities that make up the moneyed elite? Names of individuals or families?

Perhaps at some point. We confess to a focus at this time that is more theoretical than investigative.

There does appear to be an element of truth in all this. Apparently 99.999% of the visible universe is in the plasma state. So understanding how plasmas behave is the key to understand the universe. When were you taught that in astronomy?

We weren't!

What a waste of resources. Someone other than Bell readers needs to focus on the central banking scheme and publish its origins for the average person to understand. Then, hopefully, we can get ourselves redirected to a real monetary system where the Big Bang will not be the destruction of our collective economies.

It seems to us a large expenditure, though if the result is an explanation of how the universe works, presumably it would be warranted.

Once the paradigm of the 'moneyed elite is observed and then utilized to analyze the actions and words of their words and those of their vassals, it is striking and unnerving to note the similarities to what is going on now and the actions of the Catholic Church during the Dark Ages. The biggest difference seems to be we are being controlled and deceived by a secular religion that, as the Apostle Paul mentioned in the first chapter of letter to The Romans, 'worships the creation instead of the Creator.
As a good vassal of 'The Church of the Moneyed Elite Monsignor Obama's spokesman is now stating that 'In the order of several thousand scientists have come to the conclusion that climate change is happening, Gibbs said. 'I don't think that any of that is, quite frankly among most people, in dispute. This quote is from the below linked piece.

The thinking behind this article is a lot better quality than the theories being tested in Cern. Particles mediating forces... scalar particles... it's unbelievable. Good idea to quote Donald Scott. His ideas are one of the most solid alternatives to Big Science.

Thanks, his commentary seemed pithy and appropriate to us. So we used it.

Yes, it is ever thus! I think this goes way beyond a power elite. I think we can best call it "human nature."
If you must name the power elite, you can read the rantings of David Icke, who believes they are 12-foot shape-shifting reptiles, and calls them by name. Tiresome, in my opinion, because as soon as some of them die off, others arise to take their place.
In game theory, all things being equal, the player with the fewest rules is going to win. The player with the most rules will lose. Nearly always, the clever intelligent sociopath is going to be victorious financially over the poor schmuck who is burdened with scruples.
The whole meaning of power over others is that these people do not have to play by our rules. In the worldview which is inculcated in them from the womb, they are elite and smarter than the masses, who are scorned.
The problem these elitists have is that they eventually overreach and foul their own nests. They do the same things for a long time, with excellent results, therefore they expect this ideal (for them) state to go on forever. After all, they are deserving of infinite wealth and power. But sooner or later, they take too much wealth out of the system, they come to believe labor does not matter, they just get too damned greedy, and it all comes tumbling down. Either their system tumbles, or the peasants revolt and chop off their heads, or both.
But my problem with your optimism about the current fiat system tumbling and being smoothly replaced by a metals-backed money is that I see intervening anarchy. I see the sack of gold being traded for a sack of potatoes by a starving rich person who thought his wealth insulated him from reality.
So, do we want to redesign human nature, make a "brave new world?" Are we wise enough to engineer a world of absolute equality? If so, we are smarter than nature, who designs inequality in her systems. Somehow I think I would be very wary of the people who espoused this ideal. As a matter of fact, I dislike ideals, period. Look where the wonderful revolutionary ideals of Communism got Russia and China!
The USA started out as a republic, not a democracy. Yes, it was an amazing experiment. But some people were more equal than others. Women, children, slaves, unwanted immigrants, poor people- these were not people, although some were a fraction of a person. I think the power elites will always be with us. The question is: Are we smart and wise enough to ever figure out how to make their influence a bit more benevolent to ordinary people? Some cultures do much better in this direction than the USA.
I still contend that average people do not want freedom. As soon as the ink dried on our Declaration, average people were lobbying for George Washington to become our first king. And people still generally need and desire someone to point the way.
Those of us who need freedom will never let ourselves settle for less. But in a crowd, we are always heading for the exit. Freedom is not that hard to create, but the mindset is not that of the average human, whose greatest need is to belong to a group.

Excellent post. We will restrict our feedback to one thought:
There needn't be a "plan" for the return of a private gold and silver standard. It would simply evolve, in our opinion, out of the demise of the dollar and the larger fiat money system. People would simply begin to use silver and gold again for private commerce as they have in the past.

I think a point that is missed by many today is that the key underpinning principle of the US Constitution was (and this is past tense " it has been seriously eroded starting with Lincoln and then FDR and Supreme Court really removed the Constitution's 'firewalls) that the powers of the Federal Government were severely limited so as to prevent individuals, or groups of individuals from using the power of government to gain from other people.
Madison referred to these individuals or groups of individuals as 'factions. Even the formation of The Federal Reserve system is clearly unconstitutional.
Turning The Constitution into a 'mission statement rather than the law of the land has allowed barbarous individuals to use the US government for their own selfish purposes.
The Constitution even says "No State shall.... make any Thing but gold and silver coin a Tender in Payment of Debts" - Article I, Section 10
The writers of the US Constitution were very perceptive. They realized that the course of history has been the story of powerful people using their power to take from other people. Unfortunately, we have headed right back into history's Slough of Despond...

Big science has become just as cabalistic as its mercantilist/monopolistic government/corporate counterparts, to the degree that it ever more resembles a secular priesthood that exists to legitimize the theories and, of course, the memes of its financial/political benefactors. These groups seem to be working together in a manner that more closely resembles the power elite of feudal Europe than the futuristic actualization of the brotherhood of man.
This scientific community is to true scientific thought and practice as fascism or monopolistic corporatism is to free markets, in that it always seems to move in a manner to dominate and eliminate competing intellectual ideas through the determinism of manufactured consensus rather than the heurism of genuine scientific observation and evaluation. This scientific priesthood MUST be those who are seen to be weaving the story of our origins, even if that story is unfinished, as a basis for its shamanistic legitimacy.
Thus, it is little wonder that CERN remains a top priority. From that base, big science can go on to spin predetermined fantasies about the Earth's environment, pharmaceutical and psychotropic miracles, population control solutions, or any number of other topics to the detriment of freedom and real progress.

Sorry but I'll stick with the Big Bang theory because:
1) It indicates our universe had a beginning, like Genesis 1:1 says. Up till 1950 or so, it was assumed that our universe was infinitely old and infinitely large thus allowing for something so improbable as the origin of life. Based on the current understanding of the size and age of our universe based on the Big Bang Theory, it is statistically impossible for life to have originated here by chance alone.
2) There are quite a few references in the Old Testament to the Lord "stretching out the heavens". This is in accord with the Big Bang theory that says our universe is expanding. Here's one:
"It is He who sits above the circle of the earth,
And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers,
Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain
And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in." Isaiah 40:22

I just don't understand why I should want a Democrat landslide (your first paragraph) in order to be a real libertarian instead of a pseudo.
My goal at this point is to leverage as much time as possible to stock my lifeboat, so the longer the Dems and Repubs do their fake pro-wrestling act, the better.
It even sounds suspiciously as if you don't want the Repubs to share in the blame at the end--giving them an out by pointing fingers at the ruling Dems and shouting "I told you so."
Tell me that's not so, Ron. They deserve every bit as much blame (and perhaps moreso, since they supposedly know better) than the Democrats.
