Gestapo is Back: German Homes Raided Over Facebook Posts
By The Daily Bell Staff - July 01, 2017

Germany has taken its war on “hate speech,” also known as free speech, to the people.

Already Germany has pretty strict laws against citizens using Nazi symbols and denying that the Holocaust happened. Apparently, lawmakers miss the irony of going full Gestapo on citizens for free speech, as offensive as it may be.

But they are not stopping there. The German government has raided the homes of 36 people accused of hateful posting on social media.

Most of the raids concerned politically motivated right-wing incitement, according to the Federal Criminal Police Office, whose officers conducted home searches and interrogations. But the raids also targeted two people accused of left-wing extremist content, as well as one person accused of making threats or harassment based on someone’s sexual orientation.

“The still high incidence of punishable hate posting shows a need for police action,” Holger Münch, president of the Federal Criminal Police Office, said in a statement. “Our free society must not allow a climate of fear, threat, criminal violence and violence either on the street or on the internet.”

In order to keep our society free, we must severely restrict the freedom of the people. War is peace, hate is love, and so on and so forth.

You would think that given Germany’s history they would understand the utmost importance of open discussion and debate.

There was a time when children were turning in their parents for what was said in their own homes against the German Nazi government. People were afraid to speak their minds, have political discussions, or debate important issues because there were so many spies around who would gladly turn them into the government.

That is why the Nazis were able to take their insane philosophy so far. People were restricted from talking about it and criticizing the government.

With the internet, the government can simply hear and see for themselves what thought crimes are being committed, especially when people decide to post them on social media. But why shouldn’t people be allowed to be offensive on social media? Sometimes only by poking and prodding do we get to the crux of an issue. There is a place in society for all types of discourse, and when the government gets to define what constitutes “hate speech” they will simply label their enemies’ language as such.

By “right wing extremist” what German authorities really mean is anyone who questions the immigration policies of the Europe, or thinks differently than the general population. Literally simply insulting someone, or talking trash can make you liable for five years in prison in Germany. According to section 130 of their criminal code (emphasis added):

(1) Whoever, in a manner that is capable of disturbing the public peace:

1. incites hatred against segments of the population or calls for violent or arbitrary measures against them; or

2. assaults the human dignity of others by insulting, maliciously maligning, or defaming segments of the population,

shall be punished with imprisonment from three months to five years.

(2) Whoever:

1. with respect to writings (Section 11 subsection (3)), which incite hatred against segments of the population or a national, racial or religious group, or one characterized by its folk customs, which call for violent or arbitrary measures against them, or which assault the human dignity of others by insulting, maliciously maligning or defaming segments of the population or a previously indicated group:

a) disseminates them;

b) publicly displays, posts, presents, or otherwise makes them accessible;

c) offers, gives or makes accessible to a person under eighteen years; or

(d) produces, obtains, supplies, stocks, offers, announces, commends, undertakes to import or export them, in order to use them or copies obtained from them within the meaning of numbers a through c or facilitate such use by another; or

2. disseminates a presentation of the content indicated in number 1 by radio,

shall be punished with imprisonment for not more than three years or a fine.

And while the German government wages this war against citizens on one front, they force companies like Facebook and Google to wage it on another front. Facebook could be fined over $50 million, based on a new German law, for each time they fail to remove “hate speech” within 24 hours.

It’s hard to see this as very different from the restrictive nature of German society during the Nazi era, at least when it comes to freedom of speech. It has become dangerous for an individual to speak their mind lest it is labeled hate speech simply for going against the mainstream. And it has become expensive for companies to not play along with the government’s game of oppression against the people. Look to history to see what these conditions can lead to.

The rest of the world would do well to take a good look at what Germany is doing. Any efforts to curb “hate speech” in America will take on the same arbitrary standards defined by the government which will endanger any opponents to the government guilty only of free speech.

Ah, yes, the German version of the Chinese Cultural Revolution. Horrible.

  • Dimitri Ledkovsky

Such decent people. They must be really afraid of revisiting the Nuremberg Tribunal.

  • Dr. Dunkelweiss

Yes, and in Switzerland, of all places, several citizens were convicted for hate speech on social media (think freedom of speech). The most egregious case involved a Swiss citizen who was convicted for merely liking (hitting the up arrow) social media posts which were determined to be ‘defamatory’! So now citizens are being punished and imprisoned for political dissent. This is worse than Nazi Germany. This is what the New World Order has planned for all of us-Godless communism.

    • So sad, especially when Switzerland used to be the golden example of how things should be.

      • Janet Phelan

Have you been to Geneva lately? Poor people can now be arrested for begging.

    • jackw97224

I heard that David Irving was jailed in Austria for his denial of some “holocaust” history. Denial of free speech and freedom to choose is an unhealthy situation. When people are told they cannot do something, that is
the driving force for them to rebel.

      • WinChll

Any denier will be prosecuted in Germany as well. Ernst Zundel was extradited to Germany and imprisoned.

        • jackw97224

Yes, I read or heard about Zundel, too. It seems Germany is in a kind of catch-22. If they don’t allow free speech, then they tread the path of AH and the NAZIs, and yet if they allow the Muslims to stay, then they will be forced into abject slavery at best and beheadings at worst.

  • Bolt Upright

No surprise here. Since time immortal, this is how people under the influence of dopamine receptor d4 polymorphism (Liberal gene) behave. Even Cain killed his brother Abel out of jealousy because of the Liberal condition he was influenced by. Until people not under the influence realize what type of humans they are dealing with, this anti social type of behavior will flourish.

    • CAI

Are you saying that the d4 gene has a direct relationship to the liberal condition? Just asking; very interesting.

      • Bolt Upright

Research “Liberal gene”. Also, google, “The DRD4 Gene: Psychiatry’s Repeat Offender”

        • jackw97224

I think some DRD4 replacement therapy is in order. I recommend remove it and replace it with R2D2.

Just recently a man was brought before a municipal court in Germany and was found guilty (monetary fine) because he called a leader of the Green party disgusting or gross in an email that he had sent to a representative of his city.

Sounds like fake news or a bad joke. It is neither unfortunately.

    • It is surprising the extent of their hatred for free speech. Simple insults can land someone in jail, insanity.

Slavery is on the agenda in the future. Cause will be taxes, if you can’t pay, you get to take what they give you. Be happy. Free country?

    • nottoobrite

In the winter of 2015-16 315,000 German pensioners had their electric cut off for non payment !!! Muslim refugees get it for free !

      • Living_Commentator

Correct! Germany has the second highest electricity prices (trailing Denmark) in Europe and even the whole world. Power plants (coal and nuclear, gas is a bit more expensive, oil is irrelevant in Germany) in Germany produce electricity at around ¢4 to ¢6 per kWh. The consumer will have to pay around ¢30 to ¢33 depending on the region he is living in. Prices in U.S. ¢.

On average about 55 % of the electricity bill is made up of taxes and other government fees. Another major part are costs for the grid. Those costs are constantly increasing because worthless energy from renewable sources (wind and solar which are highly unreliable and cannot match demand) jam up the grid.

Every year the numbers of days increase where electricity has to be “sold” to neighboring countries for negative prices. You don’t know what a negative price is? Well, you receive an amount of MWh from Germany and they will even pay you for it. Sounds like a fairy tale, but not for the German consumer though. He has to pay for those negative prices with his electricity bill. The alternative would be a blackout. Ask Autralia about it.

      • Same thing happens here in USA all the time. With both supposed refugees and illegal aliens. Nothing new at all.

    • That already exist here in USA today !

  • Rosicrucian32

I guess what we can say is that nothing much has changed. They have only come under the yoke of new masters. This should make it much easier for the conversion to Islam as the German citizens have come to find being passive is a place of comfort and that being told how to act, speak, and behave is as superior as their race and opinions…..

    • Janet Phelan

      Sounds like Christianity….

  • sebastian puettmann

As a German who frequently enjoys reading Daily Bell, let me put things into perspective for you.

So apparently there are two main reasons for these speech laws.

The first is that many Germans cannot help but yell racist stuff. Begging the question, who exactly is responsible for educating these Germans, the answer would be: government schools. But are teachers and politians looking for blame in their own methods? No.

The second reason is that there seem to be so many foreigners in Germany who are prone to islamic ideology that this could develop into a problem. Begging the question, who exactly let these potential Islamists into the country, the answer would be: the government. But is the government expelling potentially dangerous people or finally closing the border? No.

Although the German Establishment cannot be fully trusted, things are not back to Gestapo level at all. We are trying to deal with social media developing into a real media force. If this means that private companies are forced to hire more personnel in order to watch out for disturbing content, then this is what may need to happen.

Facebook has 2 billion users but only a few thousand people who check the content. Hardly 50% of problematic content supposedly is deleted. By now there are live murders broadcasted. You can buy illegal weapons. And many wannabe terrorist have trouble finding a radical mosque but don’t have trouble finding radical videos. So what do you do about this? Let the market handle it? What if the market is violating the law?

If you research the cases in which Germans homes have been raided, each of them had writen that the German leadership “has to die” or that “all refugees must be killed”. So they did not post hate so called hate speech. They posted threats.

Also, Russian propaganda is rampant in German alternative media. And every state has the right to protect itself from enemies. If this means that the Russians have to tone down their arguments, then so be it.

In May 2017 the British parliament came to the conclusion as well that social media companies are not setting good standards to protect their users. So it is not only the Gestapo that is critizising Facebook.

I actually trust the market to come up with solutions that do not overblock content but that do not violate law, neither. My main concern is that journalism can be surpressed. And I am not sure 100% how these new speech laws will affect alternative journalism. For example, will scientists be able to discuss ethnic IQ differences or will that be “hatefull”?

I do not know yet, but as long as one does not threaten anyone, one probably will be fine.

  • Martin C

I am afraid to post this since I believe I will increase my NSA threat matrix score.

    • Highest score wins.

      • I quit being afraid a long while back there once I realized it changed absolutely nothing. And the control freaks have no where near as much control as most think. They are very good at gathering mountains of info about anything or anybody. But then they stumble over that mountain of info easily. We are seeing this daily in spades as the illusions and control mechanisms they have created are failing and desperation ensues to create more illusions.

U.S.-German secret treaty means Berlin is Washington’s vassal until 2099

    https://www.sott.net/article/284252-US-German-secret-treaty-means-Berlin-is-Washingtons-vassal-until-2099

Gerd-Helmut Komossa reveals the uncomfortable truth about the post-war conditions, dictated by the US and its allies. The state treaty, dated May 21, 1949 and classified by BND as top secret, suggests restrictions of state sovereignty of the Federal Republic of Germany, introduced for a period until 2099.
These restrictions include the provision that the winning coalition exercise complete control over Germany’s mass media and communications; that every Federal Chancellor is to sign the so-called Chancellor Act; that the gold reserve of Germany is kept under arrest.

    • william beeby

And not a lot of people know that. Mind you the rest of Europe , including the UK , are equally under Washington`s rule . I was hoping that Trump would disband NATO but that was expecting too much as the US will never allow Europe to break free .

  • Praetor

Looking back at history. The last or only good thing as a whole Germany accomplished was helping to destabilize the Roman Empire. Can not see much they have done as an organized society. On an individual level brilliant people.!!!

  • jackw97224

This action by the German politicians is exceedingly disappointing, very discouraging. I believe in free speech and with it goes the acceptance that some people will say things that are repugnant to my sense of civility, yet, refusal to accept free speech means dictatorship. Of all people, one would think all Germans would respect free speech. It is a shame that the German politicians are mirroring the very evil of the distant past, seemingly ignorant of the horrible consequences of the ruthless denial of freedom to choose. I am concerned for my German friends as I love them and am concerned for their safety if this resurrection of political tyranny persists.

    • hangloop

I agree with most of your post, but don’t you see the beginnings of the same attitude here in this country?

      • jackw97224

Yes! It has always been here. Politics is violence as Tolstoy wrote in The Law of Love and The Law of Violence. No man has a right to force another man to enter a fight or battle or war and that is one of the reasons why politicians, no matter the “flavor,” are wicked. Political government is a ruinous creation and we would be wise to terminate it and try organizational government based on voluntary contracts.

        • hangloop

I’m not entirely sure how that would work, especially with the ethics displayed by a great majority of my fellow citizens. A very small
minority of the people I come in casual contact on a daily basis actually do the work they are getting paid to do, honor the “even fleeting” commitments that they make. The human nature, seems to have changed to screw others before they can screw you. I’m not sure any change in the government would be effective as far as making it behave better.

          • jackw97224

In voluntary contracts, you purchase a service out of your own pocket, not by taxes forcefully imposed. So, if the vendor of the service doesn’t meet your needs or expectations, then you simply refuse to buy whatever he is attempting to sell. Most if not all government agencies could be privatized.

          • And should be ! smaller government is a necessity for many valid reasons. Mainly because gov is out of control and far to pervasive in every aspect of our lives.

          • jackw97224

Congrats! You are one of a growing minority that has got “outside the box” of political indoctrination, propaganda and brainwashing. I hope that organizational government based on voluntary contracts will be tried out in some nation state, but it is not likely I’ll see it in my lifetime. Keep spreading the word.

    Stop the press!

36 people ‘raided’ for hate speech in German. 80,636,075 not raided.

Mind you if the 80+ Million said they didn’t believe in the ‘holocaust’ they’d all be banged-up in prison.

You definitely need a law to protect ‘the truth’ LOL.

Yes it was really evil of the nazis to circumvent the international banking system , as the article points out it was a totally insane idea for which the German people are still paying. They issued debt free money and adopted the barter system for international trade which the bankers could not allow to catch on , the rest is history as taught in our schools.

Germany is still paying for their “crimes” today, while the slaughter under the Communists counts for nothing.

    • jackw97224

Yes, people are afraid. The fear the police; they fear the judges; they fear all government enforcement. We live on the plantation state where the politicians are masters and their enforcers are overseers. We don’t live in the Land of the Free any longer. Bye Bye Miss American Pie.

      • I only wish more people could see it all for what it is. Although many more do these days and that is a good sign ! see my link above and there is much more.

We are seeing the old order collapsing in some ways. Mainly because enough time has passed for all the lies and distortions to fail and be proven as lies and distortions for all to see !

    • We felt the same thing under BHO and crew creeping up on us ? Not really any difference in USA and Germany. We have more spook agencies and various so-called police agencies than they do and they do not work for you or me ? So who do they work for, things to ponder, hey ?
