Government Triumphs With Zombie Apocalypse Preparedness
By Staff News & Analysis - September 10, 2012

Government Zombie Promos Are Spreading … The government's zombie apocalypse is spreading and could come to an emergency-management center near you. A few weeks before the government's Zombie Awareness Month in October, FEMA's monthly webinar Thursday discussed the success of the Centers for Disease Control's zombie-preparedness campaign and how other centers can use pop culture references – even fictitious ones like the walking dead – to promote gearing up for real disasters. Almost 400 emergency-management professionals tuned in nationwide, according to an official at the Federal Emergency Management Agency. – ABC News

Dominant Social Theme: The CDC, a most helpful organization, is whimsically spreading its important message.

Free-Market Analysis: The elites we regularly track on this website via their dominant social themes like to set up helpful government entities that protect people from problems.

But we have learned during this Internet era that these helpful agencies really are not so helpful.

The IRS puts lots of people in jail. The Pentagon launches drones against its own citizens. President Barack Obama puts American citizens to death in foreign countries without trial.

Homeland Security forces people to go through machines that may give them high dosages of radiation. The FBI uses spy technology on everyday people because US leaders and the elites that back them are afraid of dissent.

The public education system turns children against each other and teaches them to be semi-literate workers rather than inquiring citizens.

The vast regulatory agencies suffer from regulatory capture and help corporate America gain a competitive edge over smaller companies that cannot afford to keep up with the bureaucratic tidal wave.

The US's green agenda mandates that certain bureaucracies spend a lot of time lobbying for "carbon scrubbers" that will drain carbon out of the air and put it underground.

The military-industrial complex, under the guise of keeping Americans safe, starts foreign wars that kill or poison millions with depleted uranium weapons.

Let's not forget about government agencies like FEMA that are supposedly there to help people in times of crisis. Here's libertarian Congressman Ron Paul describing FEMA about a year ago:

Even before Hurricane Irene hit the U.S. East Coast, the Federal Emergency Management Agency was preparing to mitigate its devastating impact, spending from its $800 million relief fund to assist communities. But the real disaster may just be the agency itself, Rep. Ron Paul said Sunday.

The Republican presidential candidate, who represents the 14th Congressional District that runs partly along the Gulf of Mexico in Texas, argued that the temporary aid provided by FEMA has helped ruin the economy by creating a false dependency.

"FEMA has been around since 1978, it has one of the worst reputations for a bureaucracy ever," Paul said. "It's a system of bureaucratic central economic planning, which is a policy that is deeply flawed."

Paul spoke to "Fox News Sunday" shortly after FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate reviewed a series of actions in response to Hurricane Irene taken on the orders of President Obama. Combined with other recent natural disasters, Fugate said the agency has enough in its immediate bank account to respond to communities seeking help, but how much will be needed afterward is unknown …

Paul said with FEMA on the brink of going broke, it's time to bury the agency … Paul added that FEMA is a gross distortion of the U.S. insurance system because it rewards bad behavior.

"FEMA creates many of our problems because they sell the insurance because you can't buy it from a private company, which means there's a lot of danger, so we pay people to build on beaches, and then we have to go and rescue them," he said.

"It's so far removed from the market and the understanding of what insurance should be about. Insurance should measure risk, it shouldn't be a bailout program endlessly."

For the reasons listed above, we don't think, as ABC writers seem to think, that the CDC's latest triumphant message is such a good thing. ABC is fairly obviously just a propaganda arm of the power elite that wants to run the world and is funding its effort to do so via its control of central banking.

This power elite runs all mainstream Western media, from what we can tell, and uses its messaging to advance the cause of government dependence. The power elite believes in promoting government because it derives its power over nation-states via mercantilism, the use of government to advance private interests.

This is why ABC, a news entity that regularly reports on governmental dysfunction (because it has to in order to retain credibility), is eager to report on governmental "good news" like the effectiveness of the CDC's Zombie-preparedness message.

Apparently, we are supposed to forget about the history of blundering genocide that marked governments' trail in the 20th century and be pleased that the CDC has found a way to present its message effectively to the public.

This is the same CDC that, according to Wikipedia, admitted to "having sent several biological warfare agents to Iraq from 1984 through 1989, including Botulinum toxin, West Nile virus, Yersinia pestis and Dengue fever virus."

This is the same CDC that has "one of the few Biosafety Level 4 laboratories in the country, as well as one of only two official repositories of smallpox in the world."

This is the same CDC that promotes vaccines for everyday health even though in the US, infants are now exposed to up to 30 separate recommended vaccines and the cases of autism among American youth are up some 80 percent.

The US itself is awarding compensation to families, which acknowledges vaccines cause autism. Here's an article excerpt from CBS News, circa 2010:

Family to Receive $1.5M+ in First-Ever Vaccine-Autism Court Award

The first court award in a vaccine-autism claim is a big one. CBS News has learned the family of Hannah Poling will receive more than $1.5 million dollars for her life care; lost earnings; and pain and suffering for the first year alone.

In addition to the first year, the family will receive more than $500,000 per year to pay for Hannah's care. Those familiar with the case believe the compensation could easily amount to $20 million over the child's lifetime.

Hannah was described as normal, happy and precocious in her first 18 months. Then, in July 2000, she was vaccinated against nine diseases in one doctor's visit: measles, mumps, rubella, polio, varicella, diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, and Haemophilus influenzae.

Afterward, her health declined rapidly. She developed high fevers, stopped eating, didn't respond when spoken to, began showing signs of autism, and began having screaming fits. In 2002, Hannah's parents filed an autism claim in federal vaccine court. Five years later, the government settled the case before trial and had it sealed. It's taken more than two years for both sides to agree on how much Hannah will be compensated for her injuries.

Instead of aggressively investigating the vaccine-autism link that has caused so much havoc and heartache, the CDC continues to aggressively promote vaccinations. Nonetheless, we are supposed to celebrate the CDC's effectiveness in coming up with a PR campaign that spreads its "message."

"Zombie-preparedness messages and activities have proven to be an effective way of engaging new audiences, particularly young people who are not familiar with what to do before, during or after a disaster," Danta Randazzo of FEMA's individual and community preparedness division said during the webinar. "It's also a great way to grab attention and increase interest in general."

He said the original zombie campaign, which the CDC launched in May 2011, succeeded in educating more members of the public about real emergencies while keeping government costs relatively low. After all, preparation for a zombie apocalypse isn't especially different from preparation for a number of other disasters, such as the CDC's zombie apocalypse-education program recommendations to build an emergency kit with food, water and medications; plan an evacuation route and pick a meeting place to regroup.

Maggie Silver, one of the CDC zombie campaign's masterminds, said she hears about zombie campaign copycats almost every week, and they call it "Zombie Nation." It has spread to health departments, libraries and universities as well as Canada's version of the CDC, she said …

"People were starting to realize they need to work outside the box a little bit and try some new ideas," Silver told ABCNews.com. "They saw the CDC as an example of something that worked. We're all trying to get our message out there." …

With the CDC's zombie guide's success, the department made posters, T-shirts and a graphic novella. Representatives even went to Comic-Con and Dragon-Con to talk to attendees about emergency zombie preparedness.

The saddest thing about the CDC's zombie preparedness campaign is that it is a psychological reference to 9/11 and there are plenty of questions about 9/11 and how it happened and who caused it. Some of the 9/11 commissioners themselves have disavowed the report.

After Thoughts

You won't learn that from the CDC, however. It's too busy getting its message out. Too bad in a larger sense it's not worth hearing.
