Judge Uses Electroshock in Court on Suspect, like a live Milgram experiment
By The Daily Bell Staff - March 10, 2018

You have probably heard of the Milgram Experiment. Stanly Milgram wanted to see how obedient ordinary people were to authority figures. So he got participants to sign up for an experiment on learning.

The unwitting participants were given control over an electric shocker. The nodes were hooked up to an actor who the participants thought was also a random participant. The participant was supposed to deliver a shock everytime the actor got a question wrong, but there wasn’t really any electricity. The experiment was to see if the participant would continue delivering electric shocks to the point of harm, just because a man in a lab coat told them to continue.

And they did. Milgram wrote:

I set up a simple experiment at Yale University to test how much pain an ordinary citizen would inflict on another person simply because he was ordered to by an experimental scientist.

Stark authority was pitted against the subjects’ [participants’] strongest moral imperatives against hurting others, and, with the subjects’ [participants’] ears ringing with the screams of the victims, authority won more often than not.

The extreme willingness of adults to go to almost any lengths on the command of an authority constitutes the chief finding of the study and the fact most urgently demanding explanation.’

But it turns out, this doesn’t just happen in set up experiments. It is also happening in American courtrooms.

Some suspects are fitted with electric shock vests at trials if they are deemed a flight risk or risk to others. But the shocks are supposed to only be used in case of an emergency.

A judge used the shock vest on one subject who refused to answer his questions. But did the judge issue the shocks himself? No. He ordered the bailiff to do so. And of course, the bailiff complied.

Gallagher ordered a bailiff to administer the electric shocks on the first day of his trial. When Gallagher asked Morris for his plea, guilty or not guilty. Morris refused to answer the question…

When Morris continued to talk, Gallagher instructed the bailiff to activate the stun belts around Morris’ legs.

Gallagher asked Morris twice more if he was going to follow the rules. When Morris did not provide a plea, Gallagher said to the bailiff, “Hit him,” according to the appeals court ruling.

The bailiff pressed the button that was to send the electric shock through Morris’ body. Gallagher asked him again if he was going to comply. Morris told him he had a history of mental illness. Gallagher ordered another shock.

“Hit him again,” Gallagher said.

When Morris contended he was being “tortured” for seeking a recusal, Gallagher, according to the appeals court, ordered the bailiff to do it again: “Would you hit him again?” …

The appeals court said that 50,000 volts can have cognitive impairment effects on a defendant. Morris’ condition after the three shocks was not reported in the court’s opinion, however…

After enduring the 50,000-volt shocks, Morris was apparently too scared to return to the courtroom and actually did not attend the remainder of his own trial. He appealed his conviction, alleging Gallagher violated his constitutional rights by repeatedly shocking him for failing to answer questions while showing no signs of becoming violent or being a flight risk.

The Texas Eighth Court of Appeals in El Paso handed down its ruling on Feb. 28. Texas Lawyer first reported the ruling Tuesday. The ruling said judges are not permitted to shock defendants who won’t answer questions or don’t follow the court’s rules of decorum.

“While the trial court’s frustration with an obstreperous defendant is understandable, the judge’s disproportionate response is not. We do not believe that trial judges can use stun belts to enforce decorum,” Justice Yvonne T. Rodriguez said of Gallagher’s actions in the court’s opinion.

“A stun belt is a device meant to ensure physical safety; it is not an operant conditioning collar meant to punish a defendant until he obeys a judge’s whim. This Court cannot sit idly by and say nothing when a judge turns a court of law into a Skinner Box, electrocuting a defendant until he provides the judge with behavior he likes,” Rodriguez wrote.

Milgram originally carried out the study to try to understand why Nazis had been so compliant in committing atrocities during WWII.

The fact that this is happening currently in American courtrooms is not a good sign.

Quote “Milgram originally carried out the study to try to understand why Nazis had been so compliant in committing atrocities during WWII”

Im deeply suspicious of anything which reinforces the whole white nationalists are the bad guys narrative and anything which reinforces the myth of the holocaust. lamp shades and soap made out of people is ludicrous enough, but the constant references to 6 million jews in peril from the 1880’s onwards in the Jewish owned press, the New York times ect ect. And the jewish book of law namely the Talmud stating 6 million jews must first be sacrificed before they can return to the holy land (6 million jews die in the holocaust and then the state of Israel is created) is a bit of a give away.

But aside from that does anyone seriously believe a judge was allowed to torture someone in a court room to get information, without being sued disbarred and put in prison himself ? Seriously catch yourself on ffs !

    • r2bzjudge

      Nazi atrocities were well documented.

      • Number 6

1 Well documented by who exactly ?
2 Which atrocities are you referring to specifically ?
3 Ever heard of propaganda ?
4 So you think the allies didn’t commit any atrocities ?
5 so you don’t for example think firebombing of 69 Japanese cities, burning men women and children to death wasn’t a F-ing atrocity ?
6 so you don’t think the ten of millions of innocent civilians killed by the Jewish Bolsheviks, during the communist “invasion” of Russia, many times more people killed than in the second world war, wasn’t a F-ing atrocity ?
7 If your answer to 4,5 and 6 is YES then why was the Milgram experiment solely focused on the Nazi,s unless it was itself propaganda ?

And no Im not a national socialist ! or a socialist of any kind for that matter !

        • NobodysaysBOO

i blocked this person as they work at the AIPAC call center and get paid $400 an hour to spew death threats and nonsense, they start with name calling like children.

Ahhh I remember him now’ he’s the shill who said the twin towers fell down without any resistance defying all known Laws of physics, because of fire. On the daily bell article “how you can distinguish real news from fake news”

          • Both NobodysaysBOO and Number 6 are “Private”, so it is difficult to validate either statement.

          • Number 6

Heres a link to the Daily Bell article in question, its not to hard to find its only a few weeks old and I gave the title of the article in quotations, its a simple matter of copy and pasting the title into your favoured search engine.

My profile is private because I like to keep the conversation to the topic at hand, I find people who like to go rummaging through the post history of others, tend to invariably be those who like building strawman arguments based on previous completely unrelated posts and make ad hominem attacks based on personality imbued in previous opinions not logic.

          • Thank you for granting me permission to view one of your other postings.

Do you even realize how really, really lame your excuse for locking your postings sounds?

          • Number 6

Quote “Thank you for granting me permission to view one of your other postings”

WHAT ? you can view anything Ive written, Im just not going to change my profile settings to suit you and make it easy for people like you, who are strangely fixated on stalking other forum users. What other possible reason could you have to look at someone else’s profile other than the personality of that user ? The clues in the name “Profile” so its not really a “Lame excuse” is it, its exactly as I have described !

And thank you for proving my point about making ad hominem attacks.

Quote “You seem to be driven by fear of your enemies at the expense of making new friends…or maybe you really DO have something to hide”

“Fear” and “something to hide” Yeah nice try and you talk about Lame, you sound almost exactly like a statist arguing for more surveillance cameras, exact same tactics, words and arguments. Which is ironic given the libertarian nature of this site, whats your ultimate goal colon cameras ?

          • All 1600+ of my posts are open to the public.

          • Number 6

Well thats Your Choice isn’t it ! But given my quip about colon cameras thats a pretty poor choice of words ;D

          • This whole exercise on my part, started because YOU posted some interesting comments and BOO said he blocked you. I attempted to gather additional information before making a conclusion and up-voting.

I did indeed receive that additional information in the form of twists, turns, flip-flops, blaming, “quips”, hostility and blatant evasions.

            My research has ended.

          • Number 6

There has been no evasion or flip flopping Ive been very clear I dont like creepy stalkers prying through my post history. If someone wants to see a previous post, I may have referred to I will post a link if its really that important.

You act as if the conversation between myself and NobodysaysBoo was for your benefit, and you had to “investigate our claims” to judge if we could hold those opinions, its nothing to do with you, it was simply NobodysaysBoo telling me not to waste my time talking to him, the fact other people thumbed up the comment showed that they agreed. Investigate our claims indeed they’re not claims its not a legal statement its a conversation ! one which hasnt really got much to do with you at all and which your now using as an a rather pathetic excuse to go rummaging through our profiles. Your coming across as full on mental !

          • Casey Phyle

Yup, that’s exactly how he sounds.

          • Because you maintain a privacy setting just like Number 6, it is difficult to assess the truth of your charges and the consistency of his postings or yours. If you continue to block access to your past postings, your credibility will be equal to his.

            i give up.

          • Number 6

I think we may have another AIPAC’er He seems very concerned with trying to goad people into changing their privacy settings, to Quote “assess the truth of your charges and the consistency of his postings or yours” Not at all you must understand to dig up dirt, in a desperate attempt to discredit arguments and find out what other sites you frequent LMAO ;D

          • Number 6

I find that people who use the word “dumbass” invariably tend to be those of limited intellect. The fact 10 year olds use that term in playground squabbles, stands testament to my findings

          • jimmy joe

They only way to know that for certain, would be to hang around playgrounds?? Is that what you do, AND where do you reside, some of us vigilantes would really like to know that??

          • Number 6

Ad hominem attacks coming in thick and fast I see, the litmus test of truth ! probably best just to keep your mouth shut instead of drawing attention to the idea there might be some truth to what I posted, with your triggered responses.
And Nice try but its common knowledge to anybody who has kids themselves, that they use the word “dumbass” at every opportunity. And I haven’t had my dick ritually mutilated, with my parents full knowledge and consent, by a dirty old man with pig tails and a beard. Hanging around playgrounds is Clearly more their sort of thing ! And no amount of media manipulation is Ever going to make the 99 percent tolerate that ! Which is probably why the media doesn’t draw attention to it ! You should probably take a leaf out of their book !

        • Unblock your privacy setting so that we may judge for ourselves by what you have previously posted.

      • Marten

Yup…well documented by those who win the Wars….

    • Casey Phyle

“Talmud stating 6 million jews must first be sacrificed”.
Looking for that statement. Where exactly does it say that? What book, what number?

      • Number 6

Its something Ive read multiple times but your right having searched and having had a cursory glance at similar articles, there is no direct link to an exact passage, so I will refrain from quoting it in future until I have an exact source, but it appears to be a Jewish prophecy which reads roughly translated You shall return minus 6 million. But the constant reference to 6 million Jews in peril in various Jewish publications including the new york times from 1880 onwards is beyond question and indeed coincidence. And shows the figure has religious significance to them.

    • Ephraiyim

Attorneys are “officers of the court”. They are unlikely to say anything when a judge goes rouge since said judge can effect their license to practice.
Judges have an almost supreme authority in their own court rooms. Few would have the guts to stand up for the defendant.

    • Pat Taylor ┌ಠ_ಠ)┌∩┐

Is this along the lines of what you were mentioning?

“Jewish prophecies in the Torah require that 6 million Jews must
‘vanish’ before the state of Israel can be formed. ‘You shall return
minus 6 million.’ That’s why Tom Segev, an Israeli historian, declared
that the ‘sacred 6 million’ is an attempt to transform the holocaust
story into state religion… Those six million, according to prophecy, had
to disappear in ‘burning ovens,’ which the judicial version of the
holocaust now authenticates… ‘Without the Holocaust, there would be no
      Jewish State.’”

      • Number 6

Yes but I cant pin down the exact book and verse, its taken from the Hebrew text apparently, so in retrospect needs more research before I could post it as fact. I think by the sounds of its more likely the work/interpretation of late 19th early 20th century Talmudic Rabi’s and scholars desperate to accelerate the prophesy of inheriting the earth.

        • Pat Taylor ┌ಠ_ಠ)┌∩┐
          • Number 6

Good info Thanks, a lot of people are waking up to how ludicrous the “official” narrative is, comments to this effect have long since overflowed from the artificially created confines of national socialist and conspiracy circles.

          • Pat Taylor ┌ಠ_ಠ)┌∩┐

            You are very welcome N6

Narratives are set by those wishing to control, just as history is written by the victors.

          • Number 6

And those victors being the Banks I think its important to note its not all Jews but it certainly is a “Jewish” conspiracy. the majority of the Jewish people are as much victims of this as anyone else, i think thats pretty much how religion works in general.

          • Pat Taylor ┌ಠ_ಠ)┌∩┐

I, personally refer to them as being Crypt0-J00$ .

I hold no animosity towards the Jewish people, I have Jewish people in my family.
I hold animosity to the deceit and corruption utilized by the Crypt0-J00$ which are Satanic worshipers (Jesuits and the like) that seek to deceive the entire world with the intent of enslaving its people.

The Crypt0-J00$ hide behind Judaism as well as use many Christians as DUPES and useful idiots.

Sadly when you mention the Jewish bankers, conversations fall apart and anti Semitic labeling ensues which ends all creative conversation and critical review of the facts at hand. I as of late have resolved to use the term “International Bankers” and only when pressed to identify them do I expose banking names that expose the Crypt0-J00$.

I am always baffled when I use history, and not prejudice to expose certain facts how quickly I am labeled as being an anti Semitic individual

          • Number 6

Yeah they’re beginning to realise the term “anti Semitic” is doing them more harm than good, I often see the the “but your white not semitic” and “Palestinians are Semites” and thats mainly coming from the left hand side of the paradigm. And they really want to associate any belief in a Jewish conspiracy with the right, because of the decades of Nazi propaganda to that effect. Also they want international socialism, so making nationalists look like the bad guy is a major part of the narrative if they are to divide and conquer “nations” as per their prophecy.

You see a lot of national socialist channels on youtube given free rein, or those pushing racist content, to keep the narrative going, they’re quite happy to scream anti semite at those people basic word association. But they tend to resort to ad hominem attacks when libertarians talk about the subject. However they’ve overused the term Nazi and it doesn’t have the effect it used to, by pushing the “only Nazis think the jews are up to something” they are in danger of creating more Fascists who are far less forgiving than libertarians.

I would rather they shock the appropriately convicted and sentenced inmates until they are no longer a taxpayers burden.

Doing it on the courtroom doesn’t have a respectable air about it.

Not much about courtrooms impress me these days but shock treatment would do nothing to improve that.

    • Ephraiyim

If this is the type of things that go on in courts of law, how can we be certain that there are any “appropriately convicted and sentenced inmates”?

      • Pat Taylor ┌ಠ_ಠ)┌∩┐

        GREAT POINT!

  • user34603

I see no comments below at all that deal with this case at hand. What happened in WWII has nothing to do with the current case or this story about it. That people refuse to comment on the story presented in the article is telling.

    • Number 6

You must not have read the article then.

Quote “Milgram originally carried out the study to try to understand why Nazis had been so compliant in committing atrocities during WWII”

I was merely pointing out that central point of this article the “milgram” experiment was propaganda to reinforce a LIE, and when coupled with the ludicrous idea a judge tortured a defendant to induce them to answer questions, in front of his layer and family. I consequently deduced that the story behind the article was an elaborate propaganda piece, presumably as part of the whole 1984 and nationalism is bad (international socialism is good) narrative currently doing the rounds.

      • user34603

no… it is YOU who did not read my comment… it was pointing out what was lacking in the comments below the main article. My remark had nothing to do wit your article at all, but the comments below it

        • Number 6

Well I did mention WWII didn’t I and my comment was below yours so…

  • That a case like this even HAD to be appealed speaks volumes of how “Police Statey” the land of the free has become. Sing along, folks…And I’m proud to be an American, where we used to be quite free…..

  • Hayrick

Electric shock belts are primitive technology. Just wait for brain wave monitoring and automatic conditioning using newer ‘therapy’, automatically adjusted by AI input based on norms determined by Google research . Not to be used on anyone from Wall Street or high income white collar crime of course. A ‘solution’ is needed because intransigents and job useless people cannot be shipped overseas and jails are just too full to cope.

A horrifying, appalling story that shows the USA legal system to be the worst and most disgusting in the entire developed world

The judge and the bailiff both here, should be imprisoned for life for their crime of using electronic torture in a courtroom

But we see little effective public outcry here from the lawyers, the law schools, the alleged ‘civil liberties’ groups, and the rest of the apparatus supposedly defending human rights in the USA … A sick, psychopathic nation

Great, forget the right to remain silent, we’ll torture you until you talk. If this doesn’t prove that we’re slaves, nothing will. We have no rights, and they’re beginning to show us with their obnoxious unconstitutional actions. These courts are not what we think they are AT ALL, and this is the scariest single event I’ve seen in them. If this clerk pretending to be a judge gets away with this torture, we will know it is sanctioned by the state and this is just the beginning.

There are no Judicial courts in America and have not been since 1789. There are only admiralty courts. Judges do not enforce Statutes and Codes.
