US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton issues a warning to Syrian President Bashar Assad: "It's time for Assad to get out of the way."
As Senator and now Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton has represented monied interests fairly well. Already now in the spring/summer of 2011, Clinton has used her influence and powers of persuasion to get Washington involved in a new Middle East war in Libya and apparently is determined to "change" Syria now, too, with force if necessary.
In this video clip Clinton talks out of both sides of her mouth, as usual for establishment politicians. On one hand, Clinton says, "As President Obama said this morning, no outside power can or should impose on this transition. It is up to the Syrian people to choose their own leaders. … We understand the strong desire of the Syrian people that no foreign country should intervene and we respect their wishes."
Then immediately after her compassionate utterances above, Clinton comes back with this: "At the same time we will do our part to support their aspirations … and we will stand up for their universal rights and dignity by pressuring the regime and Assad personally to get out of the way of this transition. Assad is standing in their way."
America's military-industrial complex continues to do the work of international money power as it works diligently to install "democracy" in the Mideast and North African nation states.
