Big Chilcot Report Clarifies Little About Britain’s Expanding Middle East Wars
By Daily Bell Staff - July 07, 2016

Chilcot report delivers damning verdict on British role in Iraq War … London (CNN)A long-awaited official inquiry delivered a devastating indictment of Britain’s decision to invade Iraq Wednesday, finding that the war was based on flawed intelligence and had been launched before diplomatic options were exhausted.  The findings of the 2.6 million-word Iraq Inquiry — seven years in the making — were released following a statement by probe chairman John Chilcot in London Wednesday. – CNN

John Chilcot finally rendered his negative verdict.

Tony Blair was the target. Bad Tony. He responded to the Inquiry’s report immediately.

He said he personally accepted all the blame, every bit of it, but that he had been motivated by his desire to make the world a better place.

Millions died or were injured, women in Iraq were told not to have babies because of the radiation, thousands of Brits were killed or injured and Iraq today continues ablaze. Shia, Sunni and other ethnic and religious groups fight each other as they did not before the war.

But Blair was motivated by the purity of his spirit and the goodness of his heart.

This sort of propaganda might make us gag but we have heard it so many times before that we are used to it. It has little effect except to increase a sense of weariness.

What is Blair really up to? Why did this report take seven years to complete? And what was the purpose of it?

Here’s a clue, from Blair’s response:

There will not be a day of my life where I do not relive and rethink what happened,” Mr. Blair said. “People ask me why I spend so much time in the Middle East today. This is why. This is why I work on Middle East peace.”

Well … Blair surely works for the City of London. If he is in the Middle East, it is because his paymasters want him there.

And for some reason they do.

The Middle East is a boiling cauldron of violence and terrorism, all of it delivered by the West.

The US and Britain set up and funded the terrorist groups.

Britain set up the Middle East, post World War II, and thus is responsible for the regional politics and tensions.

The dominant financial interests in the City wanted a war in Iraq.

The Iraq “war” was simply part of a larger wave of Western inspired violence.

Egypt, Libya, Syria – and now Ukraine and Georgia, all of these areas are filled with violence.

Blair is “on the ground” in the Middle East to supervise parts of this growing pan regional conflict.

Ironic, eh? He’s there for peaceful purposes, but probably not really.

It’s not believable anymore than his claim he was only trying to do the right thing when he pulled Britain into the Iraq war.

He said it did it because he was worried about 9/11 and Saddam supposedly had weapons of mass destruction.

Then he said he did it because Saddam himself was a tyrant and dictator in a corner of the world where such personalities are inherently destabilizing.

Of course, he never told the truth about Saddam: That he was initially a partner of the CIA.

And Blair certainly never intimated what he also knows: That 9/11 probably had little to do with “Islamic terrorism.”

So why the report necessary? It was based on a false foundation and accused Blair of starting a war that actually is only a small part of a much larger conflict.

Why bother?

That’s a hard question to answer. It could be as simple as growing British anger over the causalities from the war that had to  be palliated.

The Brits presumably have been sensitive about wars ever since World War I cost them an entire generation.

Anger directed at Blair is also anger that is not directed at the correct target, which is the City itself and the bankers crouching there plotting their next conflagration. (See “All Wars Are Bankers’ Wars” by Michael Rivero.)

In any event, the report has been issued now. It seems to change nothing.

Blair will not be prosecuted. In fact he had a chance to command the nation’s center stage to defend himself.

The Iraq War is over but British forces are fighting elsewhere in the Middle East and North Africa.

They fought in Libya. They are fighting in Syria. And probably out-of-uniform they are fighting in many other places in the Middle East as well.

Everything goes on as before except that there is a new report few will read – as most made up their minds long ago.

Issuing the report does make the British government, which is growing steadily more authoritarian, look as if it were determined to figure out exactly what went wrong with in Iraq.

It seems to be a democratic act, in other words. The idea is that people will study the report and come to certain conclusions that will ensure such a war will Never Happen Again.

Even though in several places it is happening again right now.

Conclusion: Perhaps the idea was to ensure that the Brits would focus on Blair and thus disregard the reality, which is that its elites are actually pursuing a much-expanded conflict. There has been no report issued on that. But there should be.
