Brexit Politics: Elites Set Up New Conflict Between Populism and Globalism as Chaos Looms
By Daily Bell Staff - June 27, 2016

‘Brexit’ in America: A Warning Shot Against Globalization …  The Dow Jones industrial average finished down over 600 points after the vote results became known … What’s far more worrisome is whether Britain’s decision represents an end to the economic integration and opening [of] the last few decades.  – New York Times

Did we ever think we would see the day when the New York Times would willingly acknowledge a battle over globalization?

And it not just the New York Times. Here are some other mainstream media headlines mentioning globalism:

  • Brexit: Unraveling of a Global Post-War Structure
  • Brexit: Asian powers warnings over global stability
  • Brexit’s Impact on Global Economy Depends on Leaders

The mainstream media usually doesn’t acknowledge globalism as an issue. Like central banking it is simply asserted as a fact, as natural as the air we breathe.

But now all of a sudden we are finding out it is a policy after all – something made by the hand of man and not descended from on high.

And thus what may be a new dominant social trend: Globalism versus Populism.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news in this regard.

We had several hours of euphoria after Brexit before we calmed down and realized it might be “too good to be true.”

Then we wrote an article on Friday you can see HERE.

And HERE is an article by Bernard-Henri Levy on the new emergent meme. Levy is an eloquent, leftist, French philosopher and writer:

Brexit marks a victory not of the people but of populism.  Not of democracy but of demagogy.

It is a victory of the hard right over the moderate right and of the radical over the liberal left.  It is a victory of xenophobia in both camps, of long-simmering hate for the immigrant and of obsession with the enemy within.

It is the revenge of those throughout the United Kingdom who could not bear to hear Barack Obama, Francois Hollande, Angela Merkel and others offering their views on a matter that was theirs to decide.

It is, in other words, a victory of sovereignism at its most rancid; of nationalism at its most idiotic.

What is the future of this war? We think we know. An excerpt of an article from the South China Morning Post.

Britain’s Brexit vote has far-reaching consequences with the potential to throw the world into even bigger economic chaos and disorder than the 2008 global financial crisis. The catastrophic collapse in the UK pound, free-falling global equities and a dramatic surge in market volatility is just the start of it …

Here is one from the Financial Review that we already anticipated.

Brexit may destroy Britain but make EU stronger  …  The irony is that Brexit could lead to change that is entirely antithetical to its proponents’ goals: it could both irreversibly destroy the United Kingdom and strengthen the European Union with few meaningful consequences for the global economy.

So we have a strengthened EU (presumably with its own army) undergoing an economic collapse along with the rest of the world.

What else? Brexit may well ignite a new shooting war. David Cameron warned about this in a speech in May.

HERE from the Telegraph before the speech:

A Brexit will increase the risk of Europe descending into war, David Cameron will warn … Britain will pay a high cost if “we turn our back” on the EU.  The Prime Minister will … highlight the battles of Trafalgar, Blenheim, Waterloo and the two World Wars as evidence that Britain cannot pretend to be “immune from the consequences” of events in Europe.

And what will happen to London’s City itself? Brexit may facilitate the spread its tentacles throughout Europe.

The City may even be subject to considerable deregulation to ensure its competitiveness. Here, a further excerpt from the initial Times article:

With a recession in Britain now a distinct possibility, some experts worry that a government desperate to create and maintain jobs could seek to save the financial sector by making the City more attractive as an offshore haven.

Let us sum up:

The outcome of Brexit may be considerable, grinding financial ruin. It may even cause such political instability as to lead to various kinds of warfare.

At the same time (and we predicted this) Brexit will give Eurocrats a justification to “deepen” the EU political union.

Finally, the institution that will emerge with a strengthened, international profile will be the City.

While all these tensions are brewing, the media-defined struggle between populism and globalism will deepen and spread.

Of course, globalism is in bad odor, so it shouldn’t be much of a contest But here’s a thought:

The way to increase its prestige is to make sure that whatever is bad, is blamed on populism. The economic collapse. The wars. The European disharmony.

Sound far fetched? Perhaps. But note please that Donald Trump has been cast as a “populist” as well as a “nationalist.” And now the Brexit victory has the same label.

On both sides of the pond you suddenly have “populist” movements.

And the mainstream media doing its best to turn “populist” movements into a swear word.

Of course, we hope for the best with Brexit. And maybe its establishment is indeed a precursor to a great wind of freedom.

But just as possibly, things will get worse … and  people will be told to blame it on populism.

Then, you see, a solution will  be offered, one involving a new and glorious globalist interregnum. And people will be so oppressed and frightened that they may accept it and support it, even though they are cooperating in their own enslavement.

Conclusion: The above scenario is “worst case,” of course. But we can’t shake the perception that Brexit is not what it seems to be. As the manipulation is now in motion, we shall likely be exposed, sooner or later, to the consequences of what we often call “directed history.”

FYI Did you know that Switzerland is not a member of the EU and still a sovereign? Is rated 4th for
economic freedom in the world? While US is 11th and all of the EU is worse? The UK decision being a
“disaster” is only according to the New World Globolognists. Destroying the sovereignty of the
individual American united States was the blueprint for accomplishing the same in Europe. The European
Market morphed into the European UNION. Good try, but I never thought they’d be able to pull it off.
The sovereign united States were infants compared with the old, set in their ways, European States.
Everyone knows you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. Switzerland was smart enough to keep her
sovereignty and now finally the UK is taking hers back!

    • timothy price

You seem to be extolling the virtues of the home of centralized banking and financial usury. The Swiss have harbored, laundered, and hidden, all by remaining limp-wristed neutral. Phew….

Here’s the problem for all the elitist, “ruling class”, globalists out there: Everybody knows they exist – for they’ve now shown themselves – and whatever happens next will be blamed on THEM, not “globalism” and certainly not “populism.”

Brexit was just an event – a vote – and now the elites have to pretend that they’re competent and loyal leaders of the people who will carry out the will of the people. If they want to fight this then their challenge will be to either do nothing or make things worse without anyone noticing, and that’s going to be pretty hard to do because the whole world is watching.

If there’s a global recession or financial chaos or a war in/with Europe it will be the those in charge who will be blamed. All of those are events that require “the authorities” to execute. If they want those things to happen they will because they will be the ones doing it, but they’re crazy if they think they’ll be fooling anyone.

  • spdlf

Agreed ‘grinding financial ruin’ is the next episode in this terrible soap opera called directed history.

I agree populism may be a better word choice for the various nationalist blowbacks happening across the globe. There is a growing number of people starting to smell the smoke so they must be herded into controllable political camps. Controlling the opposition is a political tactic as old as Julius Caesar yet in the modern era this still seems to escape most on-lookers.

The only winning move is not to play.

The way I see it all this ‘surface’ activity (voting, political activism, mainstream narratives) means nothing when stacked against the Deep State. Sorry but voting and writing to your representative is trumped by mass political bribery and blackmail, mass surveillance, a thousand different propaganda and disinfo techniques from NLP to COINTELPRO, black operations, manufactured events, and if they have to a good ol’ fashion Power Show (i.e. doing whatever they want).

Do we really think they would just let Britain go by a mere vote if this was for real, given all that has transpired in the (true) history of those in power in the past century? There’s too much at stake and too many unknowns.

I like to hope for the best like the rest but the revolution will not be televised.

Actually the above scenario is pretty lame. Do you want a view from the bleachers or would you prefer a front row box seat?

Ken is all over it… with two new entries since Thursday night. Bring your own popcorn.

    http://redefininggod.com/

    Brandon called it too: http://alt-market.com/

This is not difficult to follow and its easy to understand.

    • Mr. I Am Not a Name, you’re a great guy and we’ve very much enjoyed your insights. We’ve posted some of them, in fact. But there’s almost nothing in Ken’s article that we haven’t speculated on at length over the past 15 years, and especially in the past months and weeks, with the exception of splintering regions before putting them back together. And that’s somewhat of a cosmetic issue because the results will be the same: a few ruling the many.

As you say, none of this stuff is complex if you are willing to look at it directly. Our analysis tends to be a bit more discrete because we focus on dominant social themes – usually one at a time. But anyone who reads The Daily Bell regularly over the years would not be surprised by Ken’s conclusions, nor Brandon’s.

In fact, please note that elites constantly seek polarization to create control. A thesis and an antithesis yields the requisite synthesis within the context of a given theme. Ken and Brandon both miss this a bit because it’s not their core editorial mission. But it’s ours. And thus we have pointed out the suddenly functioning and shifting dialectic of globalism versus populism.

We caught it because we analyze dominant social themes. It’s very important from a rhetorical standpoint that a case is made for the superiority of globalism. And it has considerable ramifications in terms of how this upcoming chapter of directed history is going to be positioned and developed.

Having said all this, we would recommend the work of Ken and Brandon to anyone. It’s brilliant and courageous and we’re very glad they’re doing it. We wish them the best of success and hope they have the wherewithal to continue and to prosper. You too.

      • i am not a name

        Yes, very well said.

Tribalism > Nationalism > fake Globalism threat > Populism > Nationalism > Tribalism > Globalism.

It’ll take 1.8+ billion lost lives to pull that off. They’ll kill off most of the survivors (and nearly ALL of their minions, even some of their own number) during the reformation period.

        Thank you for your help,

      • Bruce C.

Would you please explain how the two of “you” (the DB and “Ken”) predict completely opposite things and yet claim to be delivering the same message?

For example, in this piece the DB thinks that Brexit will provide an excuse to double down on the EU and make it stronger, yet Ken is predicting that the EU will now be disbanded.

I know you like the logical gymnastics of the dialectic process but I have trouble understanding it, or at least applying it it many cases, such as this one.

Are “we” supposed to think they’re doing both at the same time, or neither, and what’s the difference? Are you disagreeing only in whether or not the EU is to be part of the NWO, but agree on the overall NWO master plan itself?

        Thanks

        • Ken apparently believes the EU is going to be shattered and reconstituted, which will make the rule of Brussels stronger. We have observed that the Brussels simply wants to expand. He has added in an extra step. Not so complicated …

          • Bruce C.

Okay, but I’m interested in how the “dialectic” is supposed to work here. Articles from the same source (MSM) come out on the same days saying exactly opposite things – ‘EU will break up,’ ‘EU will get stronger.’ So what is the poor chump who reads those articles (fortunately, I don’t think most do) supposed to think and how does that help the sociopaths? Right now, according to the MSM the EU may or may not break up. Thank goodness for the MSM!! (Maybe the reason MSM media consumption is down is because one learns nothing from it.)

          • i am not a name

I began to write a long explanation for you, but I gave up. I cannot condense all into a simple, short reply. I am not sure where all your weakness in understanding lie, so I suggest going back to the basics to help shore those up.

Remember, the MSM is little more than a hollywood stage where the show is presented to you, and so if you are focusing only on actors and theater in the MSM, you’ll never see the forest for the trees…

Good writers outline each dialectic showing both the MSM “show”, the (usually stated by them) globalists intentions and many of the actors (and actors roles) in each. Its not enough to read a good writers’ presentation… read and view their documented “proofs” as well. Its imperative you do that… so that you’ll never adopt anything a messenger writes, and never discount anything either until your pudding has well set.

Bottom line: All are dependent upon deception and trickery. Psychological warfare. They are masters of their crafts.

          • Very good.

          • i am not a name

OK, I’ll make a brief attempt to help with your question… you’ll still need to explore and analyze mechanics for yourself though.

You’ll need to study up on human psychology as well. Human behavior(s) are probably the most thoroughly studied subjects on the planet, historically.

The MSM presents us with a “Good vs Evil”, “West vs East”, “Corrupt, rogue government vs government (somehow benevolent and beneficial?) as intended”, “Freedom vs Totalitarianism”, “Individualism vs Collectivism”, “Natural human Rights vs Privileges” etc., shows. Daily.

These same memes are disseminated and promoted within their controlled alternative medias and within their religious medias as well, a differing flavor for every taste!

All of their memes (and others that have long supported them) are constructed and are being “argued” in the various controlled medias, for your CONSUMPTION.

They have carpet bombed the Internet with their sites, almost totally dominating it.

Pick an argument. Choose a side. Respond emotionally. Adopt beliefs. Now you have a “dog in the fight” so to speak. Psychologically you have become engaged, you have a role, you are a part of it. You are now mind controlled “opposition” for those phony evils presented. You are now ready to, and now “demanding” their pre-planned solution(s).

The many observers that don’t enter a dog into the fight are little more than herd members (behaviorally), and so they simply follow the “herd mind” with full acceptance when “solution(s)” are granted.

Wash, rinse, repeat…. = directed history.

Loosely, any meme that attempts to trigger an EMOTIONAL response is a red flag. Fear is the big one…. and manipulation plays on your senses of right vs wrong, generally speaking….

Hope this helps with the question you asked,

          • alaska3636

Mr. i am not a name,

Hegelian historicism provides the framework of the Overton Window. You can’t have a dog in the fight unless the Overton Window defines your quadruped as a canine.

I have written some about historicism and the Overton Window here that I think is relevant:
            https://alaska3636.blogspot.com/2016/06/the-overton-window-and-historicism.html

“Not only does historicism suffer from a lack of theoretical underpinning, it fails to account for the dynamics of human consciousness that we all experience. Historcism substitutes relativity for understanding and, as a direct result, favors a status quo interpretation of past events. As an object of the Overton Window, historicism maintains that the common man has no power over his destiny and, at best, can hope to work towards the ends of their enlightened leaders whom history has seen fit to elevate to positions of power.”

  • EDD

This can be a telling statement: “Of course, we hope for the best with Brexit. And maybe its establishment is indeed a precursor to a great wind of freedom.” As the DB has often established, the internet reformation is an ongoing process. Many readers are going beyond the ‘denial’ stage to begrudging ‘acceptance’ and then total ‘admitting’ of having the wool pulled over their eyes by TPTB. It is difficult for a person to admit he/she has had eyes closed for so long.

Being a Bible student; however with a search for truth and not a Bible thumper; here is an interesting insight to this quote: “Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.” Babylon in it’s day was the financial center of the known world. Collectively, London City and the counterpoints in the U. S. A., Israel, and the Vatican may be seen as the modern day Babylonian financial empire. An intense research shows a glimmer of infighting among those classified as ‘TPTB”.

Their powers are illusory and can only remain until the light of truth penetrates their facade. Since all financial systems today is built upon federal reserve notes and paper money schemes of other nations, failure is destined to occur. This may be the time foretold.

Can you tell when MSM is lying? When they open their mouths or print their words. The lies are becoming so transparent that people are truly becoming aware. Witness the British population voting ‘Brexit”. Witness a brash American daring to speak and in doing so, casts ‘political correctness’ out the window. Maybe, just maybe, we are reaching the ‘critical mass’ necessary for real reform to occur during this phase of the awakening process.

    • Eloquent, thanks.

      • EDD

Thanks to the DB for the Staff writing excellent insights into the ‘memes’ of the One World Order. During my lifetime of 71 years, I have witnessed many ‘directed history’ events. I was in the hospital following an automobile accident when JFK was killed. Some years later, I realized just how soon the media ‘exposed’ Lee Harvey Oswald.

Other events followed and I began to realize how ‘directed history’ was being perpetrated on an unsuspecting population. Perhaps the most atrocious event for me concerning the elites disregard for human suffering occurred in the early morning hours of 9/11/01. There is ample evidence supplied by experts showing the collapse of the twin towers as being one of ‘controlled demolition’.

During my school years, I was taught of the Hegelian dialect as applied to the Soviet Union. Over the years, with growing awareness, I took a step back for a clearer view and came to the conclusion that the ‘two party’ system in America was nothing other than a ‘steering committee’ designed to continually guide the worlds citizens into a netherworld of thought control. Without writers such as the author of ‘1984’, it’s possible that searchers for truth would be blindsided by current events.

Thesis, antithesis and synthesis can only work so long. With so many lies being told, the thin veneer becomes so transparent that even the most blind begin to have their eyes healed. I feel like the man who held the babe and declared, “I have seen the salvation of the world.” (paraphrased). Becoming aware removes the element of fear. If Brexit was not part of the elitist agenda, they must regroup. Even if Brexit was anticipated, it may have unintended consequences. This is the ‘critical mass’ I alluded to in my above post.

So thank you for your comment about my post. It is appreciated.

        • This is excellent. They seek to exploit the revelations of the Internet by shaping a meme that deals with freedom but they are too smart for their own good. When they hired Martin Luther to break the Church after the advent of printed bibles had ruined its reputation, they didn’t count on the result: Thomas Jefferson and the Declaration of Independence. In other words, “unintended consequences.”

When the Iron Curtain came down the Bolsheviks all fled to the other side because they knew what the Russians would do to them after 100 years of communism. The best thing about Russia getting Crimea back… Catherine the Great took it from the Turks… What happened right after Russia retook Crimea? The Russian FSB searched all the Turks living there… Why? Because NATO sponsors Islamist terrorism when it suits them to.

The EUSSR needed Libya’s oil, but Muammar Gadaffi decided he wanted gold instead of worthless fiat currency from the EU… What was the first thing NATO did when Gaddafi was deposed besides stealing all of Libya’s gold? Form a new government? NOPE, they formed a new Libyan national bank. Now, why would they do that? Because even if Muammar was deposed, he and his heirs would still be the sole proprietors! While Leon Puñettas was so busy with gay pride celebrations at the Pentagon, three Navy Seals and a U.S. ambassador were murdered, all because everyone was being so fúcking gay.

Like with the nonsense in Syria, the U.S. State Department armed terrorist rebels to get rid of Gadaffi, the same ones that killed Ambassador Stevens and stole weapons from that secret armory in the basement… It was easy to dispose of the hated Muammar Gaddafi, but Bashar al Assad has friends… Syria and Ukraine are the same scenario as Serbia… NATO bombed Serbia so the IMF could make loans for rebuilding and get control of Serbian iridium assets.

Albanian Muslims operate human slaughterhouses in Kosovo where they rip out the organs of Christians to sell to Turkey and Saudi Arabia… How is Hillary Clinton’s “reset button” working out for America, comrades?

“We’re history’s actors … and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.”

The so called elites seem to act and those of us who see reality for what it is through the veil of corporate media, we’re left to react. Reactions constrained by the regulatory state built upon and around us.

I’ve come to the conclusion that the best we can do is find a path to a kind of liberty in this unfree world while remaining hidden in plain sight. A sort of security through obscurity. It’s downright frightening at times when I realize that perhaps just 1% of my fellow Americans get it. I presume that number based on the percentage of US residents who own physical precious metals. But that’s the reality of the world we live in.

Studying history, and watching how others in the 20th century dealt with a shifting political and legal environment, I find it nearly impossible to get my closest family to see what we here can plain as day. What would the average German have traded to have the knowledge of 1946 available to them in 1939? Yet here we have that foresight and what can we do about it if you’re stuck? And that’s by design!

    Batten down the hatches people.

    • शैतानी एक यहूदी पूजा है।

The banksters need a war desperately right now. They’ve tried so hard in Syria and it just hasn’t worked. Now they’ve got crazy Trump actually saying we should stay out of the Middle East and focus on our own problems, and people are listening… What’s a self-respecting globalist financier to do?

Without the US military killing people and breaking things, there is no future growth path for them. So they send their puppets like Kasich and Romney out to talk up the fight against “evil” and threaten Russia and China, hoping to fool those dumb white ‘Murkins one more time into sending their sons off to die for God and Country and Goldman Sachs.

The IMF is in bed with the Turks, Saudis and NATO, they are worried about a Trump audit of the Federal Reserve… and about Trump and Putin teaming up to destroy them once and for all… Trump is a vote for peace, and peace does not make money for the weapon industry. The pseudo secular media and their globalist masters profit from destabilization.

(From Erik Garcés’ above comment) This is good, and bears repeating:

“…I’ve come to the conclusion that the best we can do

while remaining hidden in plain sight. A sort of security

I urge DB readers to spend six minutes watching this video, produced by the late Carl Sagan. Sagan was no anarchist. Other than royalties, he probably never drew other than a government paycheck. But he was a brilliant communicator. Sagan was in position to see the “problems” in perspective.

Brexit is merely another of millions — yea billions — of human manipulations designed to aggrandize the illusion of “jurisdiction” (power, authority) of one group of human beings over another group. Non-free-market robbery is that abject science that goes by the name of “rulership”. Rulership allows nonproducers to steal significant proportions of the production of those who produce.

Simple stuff, but Sagan could see it clearly by making it possible to snap a photo from millions of miles away from this pale blue dot upon which we all reside. And, due to his “position” it was not appropriate for him to verbalize it as we do here at DB. I strongly suspect Carl Sagan died 20 or more years before his allotted time due to his faith in the “science” practiced by the medical establishment.

Those reading this already know that there is no such thing as “jurisdiction” — other than force of arms.

And religionsuperstition. The challenge of anarchy is in developing techniques to sidestep the beast.

The enormity of the truth is incredible. Sam

    The Plot Thickens …

  • Muckylittleme

Isn’t it wonderful to have a communist Frenchmen berate the British for exercising their democratic right?
And he truly gives himself away by calling the British Xenophobic and elitist for not adopting an elitist Frenchman’s views – seem a tad hypocritical?

As with all self pronounced intellectuals the man’s arrogance and pomposity have no limits and as soon as he and his brethren do not get to dictate reality they cast off their cloak of decency and become the conspicuous rabid frothing totalitarians they were all along.

Of course anyone who has a different opinion to them is wrong by default and not wanting to see your country and culture destroyed via the globalist social engineering tool of mass immigration makes you racist!
In truth, this axis of evil between the radical left and the plutocrats, have no intellectual arguments at all.
Quite the opposite, which is why it must employ irrational emotive arguments in order to stir up their minions from within their gated idiocratic ghettos. The pseudo liberal class, the politically gullible, the philosophically pliable young, the disconnected immigrant and for want of a better word, the brain-dead.

And if we want an example of which side is truly racist and extreme then look no further than these same people marching and calling for death to old people, death to white people and making fraudulent petitions for a second referendum.

As always these agent provocateurs do not just distort reality, they actually invert it. This works on uncultured weak minds but not on those who still have free will and the power to think critically.
But their conceit and delusion are so great that they actually believe they dictate reality.
Even as people point at the naked Emperor waving his magic wand at the children, he is declaring himself invisible.
You see, it cannot be that the people actually see through them and understand their perverse machinations – it must be that there is suddenly something very wrong with the people!
It cannot be that their policies have triggered the peaceful democratic revolution which they denounce, there must suddenly be something wrong with the people!
It cannot be that controlled democracy could still reflect the just views of the masses – it must be there is suddenly something wrong with the people!

So now we have these self proclaimed intellectuals and elite openly declaring war on democracy and the people they pretended to serve for so long.
This is the beauty of it all, the vote in Britain has shone a light on the dark shadow of totalitarianism that was so self evidently looming over us.
Now we see the grotesque criminal globalist cabal and their clique all contorted expressions, claws and fangs sneaking up on us and we have our stakes at the ready – this is why they hiss and snarl and throw back their cloaks.
They are exposed for the glorified parasites they truly are and no amount of rabid threats or claims of superiority will prevent that stake being driven home.

So I say to the establishment and to you, Bernard-Henri Levy, “Viva la revolution!”
